Sounds very sensibleDeserves the new contract. Should be fairly decent bump as well and probably an assurance of mid contract re negotiations if he keeps his performance up

That was the thing for me. I'm fine with him playing either position just to see him on the pitch like yourself, but, at RWB, I'm fine with Maz and potentially Antony there. With the 10 position, though, I don't think we have anyone else who offers the qualities Amad brings there (keeping the ball under pressure and in tight spaces, being able to dribble opposition players, is unselfish in his play and thrives on linking-up with others which naturally elevates his teammates, etc) so, imo, he's needed there more urgently than at RWB.Some people can picture things better than others some people just accept things as they are. Just because a piece of a puzzel fits somewhere doesn’t mean it’s meant to be there.
Thats what I’ve been saying since the start but I was just happy for the boy getting game time until I noticed attacks die when they reach certain people. You don’t want people that got kick and run in positions that need elegance and smoothness.
Like I said to @UnitedRepublic above, I'm with you. I'm fine with him just playing in general but, as things stand, I think he's needed in the 10 spot more for the reasons stated above.I'm quite happy with him in either role, although I do lean towards #10. He's the best we have in both of them at the moment, so which one he should play in depends on who we can play in the other and which combo is better for the team.
That goes for next season as well. If there's a really good #10 available that we can buy this summer but no suitable RWB, I'm happy for Amad to mostly play the wingback role next season with the new guy fitting in at #10. I would think the opposite would be more likely though, with us buying a RWB and Amad being used mostly at #10. Long term it's great that he's a strong option for both, although like I said I do think he'll end up in attack more often.
I think it is essential that we move back to the old, ”no one is bigger than the team/club” thinking. Team comes first. If any player regardless of talent thinks he is worth way more than the club really wants to offer, then well, off you go. We have been trying to keep hold and keep value of our best players with high wages since Fergie left, and it does not work that well.People put these "fair wages" need to realize that the ball is fully on his court. He could leave for free if he wants to, even if we decide to take that 1 year extention option.
Good luck with that. Any good agent could easily get him 200k/wk.

He doesn't like Bruno there because not only is not particularly quick, he's also pretty bad anlt carrying the ball. Wirtz is much better in both regard. Also, Amorim like one of the 10s to be more winger than a 10 and, the other to be the other way around. Nuno Mendes and Wirtz alone and we'll win alot of games.I’m not in the Wirtz camp personally, and think there is a very real chance, unless he goes to the perfect environment, that he doesn’t succeed in the PL. Also, I think we need someone more explosive than him there anyway. Those roles are 10s/wingers I feel - a more classic 10 may blunt us a bit. I think it’s why Amorim doesn’t seem to fancy Bruno in that role.

I haven't seen to much of Nuno, couple of games here and there, then looked at some of his stats. He seems quite capable going forward. He has pretty decent success in that role as well under Amorim as far as can tell.I’m not particularly keen on Mendes either tbh. I think he’s a brilliant player, but he’s very much a left back. I’m just not a fan of us basically playing defenders on the wing. If our attacking width is going to come from the likes of Dalot and Mazraoui, the quality will be lacking (as demonstrated by Dalot, Mazraoui and Malacia since they have been played as wingers and not defenders).
Mendes vould be the best left back in the world, he’s that good, but he doesn’t have the final third quality to me. If anything, I think he’d be better suited playing Martinez’ position in this formation than wing back.
We should have got his contract done 3-4 months ago. We have let it linger and now his agent can demand what they want as someone around the world would be prepared to offer him silly money
Maybe he’d bench Saka for Amad?Bet ETH would have benched Saka too if he was at United.![]()

One million flies can’t be wrong![]()
We would all be calling ETH a genius then.
A new contract with only a slight increase in wages will be the best option. Dont want another Rashford situation.
Damn we gave Yoro silly moneyIf only life was this easy.![]()

His agent will then use other United players, never mind other players in the League incl Saka as comparisons. I can imagine the convo going like this:
"Antony isnt even a starter and yet he is on 200k per week, Mister Omar. Yoro who has barely played is on 115k/week.
Yet you are offering one of your most critical players—one who is one of the first names on the teamsheet; one who has more goal contributions per min than anyone in the league incl Saka, who just had his contract renewed at 200k/week. (Amad's currently on 28k/week) ...
This 50k/week seems very hurtful considering how much Amad loves the club. Its insulting to a player of his talent and potential. Maybe Amad needs to take his talent elsewhere where he will be more appeciated and loved.
What say you, Mister Omar?''
So if you were in Berrada's shoes, what would you do?
1) Tell Amad to take 50K/week? Then tell him to feck off by selling him next summer if he cant accept that?
2) Or give him Yoro parity at least?
3) Or somewhere between Yoro and Saka?
How do you think we were able to beat Madrid to his signature when they had been hot for him for quite some time?Damn we gave Yoro silly money
I give him Yoro parity. Say something likeIf only life was this easy.![]()

He is a smart player makes you appreciate how smart he isMake you appreciate what an intelligent player he is
And it's under Ineos... No blaming murtough on thisDamn we gave Yoro silly money
115k a week isn't silly money by any means for Elite young talent with full season as starter behind him .
But as always I take any info about wages not that seriously .

He wouldn't have signed a contract then when he wasn't even sure the manager of the club was interested in giving him actual opportunities to play.
I think you'd be surprised. I don't see anyone offering him 200k per week just yet. I think an agreement will be found quite easily around 100-120k per week.Good luck with that. Any good agent could easily get him 200k/wk.

And that should still be a concern at this club, we're just horrifically bad at managing players at this age range.
I'd try and get a release clauses in - £40m any season we miss out on top 4 would be quite reasonable.

we could also do a Yoro here...annual increase written in the contractDeserves the new contract. Should be fairly decent bump as well and probably an assurance of mid contract re negotiations if he keeps his performance up
Pocket watching like it’s still early 2000s is crazy also. £115K hardly qualifies as “silly money” currently.
People still live in late 90s/early 2000s when it comes to assessing wages, thinking £10k a week is a normal wage for a PL footballer.
I knew he will be some decent player here or somewhere because he had the temperament and composure on the pitch irrespective of how ETH treated him. I didn't expect he will come good here. That Rangers and Sunderland loan spells has been brilliant for him. Kudos to the club and I'm looking forward to dread ANC every two years now. Thank you very much.Same. I thought he was a goner when Ten Hag was here. He didnt seem to like Amad regardless of how well he played. More fragile minded players would have given up or kicked up a fuss. He stayed humble and worked hard, everytime he was loaned out he tried his best. Such players always gain my respect easily.
