Teams know that if they starve him of space and chances to get on the ball that they kill our attack. Mazraoui really needs to go back to RCB and put Antony RWB, he's been garbage since he's gone out wide.
He definitely had a poor game all things considered. And it was not the first game either. So when Amad plays mediocre it's the other players fault right??
The irony in that postMoronic, like when saw clear deficiencies in Bruno and Garnacho when they were playing ‘great’. Low LQ comment.
if we played him at RWB you could try Garnacho in that space or Antony alternativelyImagine we could take advantage of teams doubling up on him and use the space left behind with our other attackers.....but they're crap.
Agreed, i saw this on a few occasions last night at the game, at one point there were four Newcastle players around him to stop him from getting forward, he was our only real outlet last night. He is 22 years old, why should he be a sub?
They use 3 players to nullify him, they would not do that if he wasn't a threat.
Brave of you to imagine our players are positioned well enough to receive oneThat doesn’t look painful to me, looks like a simple ball should remove almost half of their outfield players from the game.
Not saying he couldn`t done more in those situations, but it is quite telling that he is outnumbered 4 to 1 in those pictures who covers quite a lot of grass. Especially the pic on the right. That doesn’t look painful to me, looks like a simple ball should remove almost half of their outfield players from the game.
I expect his output to drop a level in the coming weeks. Opponents have figured out that he is the only player in our team worth getting close to and therefor are prepared. It is now on him, to a) re-invent parts of his game to overcome that and b) for others to step up. Hope we don't burn him out, he is one of the players for the future, but he isn't there yet and his actual level isn't really to be evaluated yet. Many players have looked good in the PL when the timeframe is short enough, thank god, he finally got the playing time he needs but also lets be fair, stop hyping him up stop being too impatient with his development.
Why would he stay if we don’t give him a big contract? His contract is up already? That was quick.
Please, for the love of god, do not put him on hundreds of K per week salary.
Let's be smart about this.
Only Amad who I'd be interested in extending.
Agree, but we need Maguire as backup, so we don't use money (we don't really have) on CB backup. In an ideal world we wouldn't need him off course.Only Amad who I'd be interested in extending.
Agreed. We need to extend. The rest can anf should leave
Why would he stay if we don’t give him a big contract?
Yeah they've targeted him now but he's holding onto it too long as well.
Last night you could see the four Newcastle players charging at him in that pic and he had a simple out ball on. If he'd done that quickly four of their players are out of the game. Bit he just took too long. Too many touches.
That dwelling on it has just creeped into his game a bit recently. Happened a few other times last night and he just about got away with it.
Yeah for sure. It started a few games ago, lets face it, not just us fans watching us on a regular basis. Opponents know our form, know the capabilities. They know, there is next to no x-factor in the team and in a game without Bruno, they could be even more secure and gang up on Amad. I think though, that this is a necessary challenge, maybe that is one of the aspects that others describe when they talk about 2nd season syndrome. But at the end of the day, when younger players become regulars then opponents will start to prepare. It is only natural. Which is why we should save ourselves the time to speculate whether his great form is over and whether he should start or not: of course he should start because he is one of the few players in our team worth investing time into.during the last game, newcastle players were only bothered to mark him. At one point around 4 players were around him. They were not bothered about the rest
There is a happy medium though. Otherwise, I hope the decision makers are sensible and ready, not to get fleeced. This is what we got wrong too often. But it is part of taking the medicine. Amad certainly deserves a substantial raise when he becomes a 1st team regular. But he doesn't deserve top club money yet. Especially given that we aren't a top club these days. Time to make the right decisions. But I am fairly optimistic that this is something Berrarda will handle correctly. And at the end of the day, there is always performance based add-ons.Why would he stay if we don’t give him a big contract?

What simple ball are you suggesting? He's surrounded. That doesn’t look painful to me, looks like a simple ball should remove almost half of their outfield players from the game.
I also think Amorim has pushed us to slow down in the final 3rd because we rush it so much. Not saying you're wrong but it is easy to say he should release the ball early. The majority of the time the early option in this current line up is a backwards pass, it's not as if he is overlooking potential quick through balls by holding on to the ball. The formation as it is being played at the moment is leaving him isolated with very few progressive passing options and very few opportunities to be 1 v 1 with the opposition fullback. Him holding onto the ball a little longer to see if a pass opens up I am fine with as either way 90% of the time the ball goes backwards and we start with a slow build up again. I think he's shown enough to see that if there are opportunities to be progressive with his passing whether in the pace or direction of his passing he will likely choose that option. As it stands, those opportunities very rarely pop up at the moment.
