I think we might go back to 4-2-3-1 / 4-3-3

Think De Ligt will come in for Maguire and Garnacho should start ahead of Rashford. More likely Amad though!!

Ugarte on the bench, but if he does start I can see it being Mainoo rather than Casemiro
    Onana
    Mazroui De Ligt Martinez Dalot
    Casemiro Ugarte
    Amad Bruno Garnacho
    Zirkee

Sterling to feature and score
    iu

A must win, this early in the season. Maybe, maybe an excellent performance draw would do it, but we really need a statement win.

Think we'll win this. Hopefully we have Ugarte in by this. Need to stop fecking around with things and just play our best players though (which includes a striker rather than a false 9).

    Zirkzee
    Mount Bruno Garnacho
    Mainoo Casemiro
    Dalot Martinez De Ligt Mazraoui
    Onana
Ugarte is here, he might get 20mins when Mainoo or Casemiro are knackered

It is actually reasonable to panic about where our goals are going to come from this season. Just 2 goals from 2 games, some of our players who can score are dreadful finishers (Bruno) or completely past their best (Rashford). Our defense has to be really good to win, but I don’t see that happening.
In reality i's one goal, Amads against Brighton took a 90deg deflection he's got a lot of balls claiming that one

    Onana
    Dalot Maguire Casemiro Martinez
    Mainoo Bruno
    Mount
    Antony Rashford Sterling

Let’s go with this, no more Dalot at LB. De Ligt still not ready I think. Sterling straight in there and Antony ahead of Amad. Also Rashford at striker until Zirkzee is fully fit.

    Just kidding
    This is a joke.............................isn't it?

Last season played Liverpool three times and came out of those games unbeaten I'll be happy if that run continues this Sunday.
You'd be happy with a draw? After the transfer window we've had, at home, against a manager who's new to the league and was turned down by his main transfer target.

They still have a cohesive team that’s used to getting results in the league, regardless of the new manager. For one reason or another, United are still looking for the right balance.

Few if any of United's transfers ins are up to speed for this game. Of course I'd be most happy with win however a draw against Liverpool whom I expect to finish in the top 3 again this season will be improvement on losing to Brighton.

Liverpool have had on paper an easy enough start. Solid results, both 2-0, but I think the more promising thing from a Liverpool perspective is the notable tactical change. A definitely more clam, controlled approach so far. Not all gung ho which while exciting, never felt very controlled. Much bigger tests to come, starting this Sunday. I personally think it'll be tight, neither team over committing. Where both teams are right now, United struggling for goals and Liverpool looking very dangerous on the break, I'll plug for a 2-1 away win, 2-0 to Liverpool, late set piece goal for United and grandstand finish.

The first battle of the Dutch Baldies. Bring it on.

Agreed. They have shown themselves to be less shellfish in their style. You can say they lack some mussels in midfield but they are by no means shrimps. We just have to hope we are more e-fish-cent.

Liverpool finished 22 points ahead of us last season? Better to be realistic and acknowledge it’s a tough game.

And didn't beat us once? Under their greatest manager in decades who's now gone.

Better to be realistic and acknowledge it’s a tough game.
Of course I know it's a tough game. That's why I said I expect us to sit and play on the counter at home.

I just disagreed with some of you about being happy with a draw. Replace that lot with City or Arsenal? Sure. I'd take a draw right now.

I’m fecking praying to every known God in history that ETH drops Rashford.
He has to, Rashford is caught offside far too many times and ruins the play with his stupid running and losing possession.
Drop him get Zirkzee and Garnacho in from the start with De Ligt and Maguire at the back, push Martinez into midfield to give some badly needed enforcement in the middle.
We are at home so I’m desperately hoping we win and give the scousers a good game but I’m not confident, is anyone confident going into this game other than a fecking scouser?
    No chance.

Facing Liverpool is always one of the biggest games of the season.

But failing to concentrate an extra 2 minutes last weekend, has now made this game into a Cup Final.

Lose again and the pressure will be almost unbearable...after 3 sodding games!

    The fans haha
I’m gonna smash you up but I can’t get through
    I love that clip.
Hateful scumbag fans screaming disgusting stuff at a mere footballer all game, but can't take even the slightest bit back.

You wonder what on earth these people's reaction is to murderers or proper criminals.

If they come to OT and handle us Ten Hag might not make it to December. Would be a damning indictment

I think that’s a little unfair. We left a lot of our business until very late in the transfer window and ETH has had little time so far to implement the new players into the squad. Liverpool on the other hand look very cohesive and have a team who has played together consistently for some time.

I think the realistic outcome given the above is that Liverpool win relatively comfortably. I don’t see that as defining ETH’s season but it definitely will ramp up the pressure on him to get the team up to speed for the tricky looking away games we have coming up.

You can’t be serious. Liverpool literally have 0 “Slot players” yet everyone here has said ETH needed a full squad and bench to implement his “style”.

We have exactly 1 player who was signed very late in the window. Everyone else has been here for weeks. This constant need to excuse everything in year 3 is fecking exhausting.

I didn’t say we WOULD get handled (we won twice last year), just saying if we did that would be fecking damning on ETH considering the guy across from him has made due implementing a new style relatively quickly with no signings.

Let's see where Liverpool are after 15 games before we start fellating Slot and using his cock as a rod to beat our manager with.

If he’s available then start Ugarte. I’d actually play him, Casemiro AND Mainoo, Bruno false 9 and Mount and Garnacho on the wings. Gives us pressing up front and enough for a foot hold in midfield

As usual, I am nervous as f*** for this match.

Hope I am wrong, but I don't see us winning. Think we are really light physically (Bruno, Mainoo, Garnacho probably don't have 90mins yet)

Think also Ten Hag will keep the same team as against Brighton, but I would change the formation, hit them in counter, but it won't be the case.

    -------------------------------------Onana------------------------------------
    Mazraoui-----------De Ligt----------Martinez------------Dalot
    --------------------------Casemiro-----Ugarte-------------------------
    Amad----------------------------Mainoo------------------Garnacho
    --------------------------------------Bruno-----------------------------------

I know my team is a defensive but Pool will be to tough for us if we have the same mentality as against Brighton.

If Liverpool's bald Dutch manager schools ETH by giving a possession masterclass, it would be a quite ironic.

Whatever window Liverpool have, they currently have a better structure in their management and their aging players are still performing.

For all the united fans coming in and laughing at them, i wish i had your confidence, and will hopefully get that after we stuff them at OT this weekend (Very Very less chances of it actually happening)

It probably will be a smash and grab usual United win after the usual Liverpool pressure.

Can imagine how they may have felt during the Fergie years. This thought just made me happy.

Feck Liverpool (just the club and it's supporters though) for the rest of Liverpool, feck you all too.

And so it's Anthony Taylor AGAIN for this match!

I mean he messed us so many times against Liverpool.

If we lose this the mood is going to be very toxic, if we win it’s going to be very optimistic. For that reason it feels like a big game. Obviously there’s many more games that could change either of those moods rapidly, but still.

Maybe "happy" isn't exactly the right word, but when you are a pessimistic bastard like myself fully expecting us to get tonked 3 nil, at the absolute worst possible time to get tonked at home by a rival, ie right before a two week international break, then a Draw can be seen as slightly positive.

"At least we didn't lose! 3 points out of a possible 9 is horrendous!" That sort of thing.
