All I can say is, at least he hit the fecking target. Frustrating as hell though.
If he had have finished the clear cut chances he's gotten we'd be top of the league and Pogba would have had a few more assists to boot.
He's becoming a problem, and I never thought I would say that.
Quality outside the box.
Very very poor inside.
Goes both ways I think. Zlatan should have had 2 or 3 assists against city. It's not just him that miss chances, I think we could at least blame the midfield players as well.If he had have finished the clear cut chances he's gotten we'd be top of the league and Pogba would have had a few more assists to boot.
He's becoming a problem, and I never thought I would say that.
I think he'll come good before long, as I said. How can you not be worried? He's 35 years old, brought in to contribute for one, at best two seasons, and make an instant impact. His impact so far has been restricted to costing us points in several matches, and we're over a quarter past the (realistically) one season he'll stick around. We don't have time for him to adjust to the league, miss chances and cost us points.
It's mostly Slevs who seem to post one liners all the time calling him fraud.
That last miss was criminal, needs a goal fast for his confidence. His overall game today was really good, especially the link up with Mata and Pogba.
Was he one-on one with the keeper like Zlatan was in the first half? Did he have an empty goal like Zlatan had towards the end?
Those are the chances even Wayne would score. And that is why I said 2. Else I'd have said 3-4
YepDevil's advocate but don't we think when he scores a couple they might start to flow?
Funny thing is, this is the absolute truth. If he'd scored all the sitters he's missed this season we'd be top of the league.
Was looking for the white text. He will be criticised for missing about 4/5 clear cut chances.
Yea. People who expect their main striker to score once every 4 or 5 games are so unreasonable
Having a good autobiography is obviously the key stat for a striker
Another game goes by, and we fail to win because our main striker cannot finish chances. Not all on him, of course, but you expect him to put at least one of the two very good chances he had today. It's happened too many times this season now, and we're getting punished for it.
He's been absolutely woeful.
Really don't know what to say. Missing chances that he would never ever have missed for the last 3 years.
How can someone's finishing ability just go away like that? I really am mythed
His shots per goal ratio (before today's game) was exactly the same as last season at PSG, one goal for every five shots. I think they were just pissing on opponents last year so his wastefulness went unchecked.
I think he'll come good before long, as I said.
Plus the fact he's against inferior opposition.
He is not, he needs 5 yellows before 2017 to get a suspension and he only has 4. Didn't get one today. Can someone confirm is he suspended for Swansea or not?
You have to take in the context of how bad he's been recently, too. His general play was better today, but, yet again, he cost us more points with his bad finishing. He's going to criticised for that as any striker for any club would. It's not even like he makes up for his bad finishing recently with good general play performances as they've varied from awful to good, too.Saw only the second half, he was the best United player by far, if people think he's the problem then the other 10 players are beyond redemption
If his only job in the pitch was to score goals as a pure 9 then yeah, that would be expected from him
But he's doing other things too
In fairness, they defended about as well anyone we've faced.
Also against Leicester, Southampton, Watford and City (an open goal).Missed sitter vs Stoke, Liverpool, Chelsea and now missed at least 3 sitters vs Burnley.
