The league has won Zlatan, he is here. Good for league.

Yeah, his play wasn't good. But he won us the game. That is ALL that matters.
That's what I was thinking watching Pogba play today. I love Pogba, but a huge problem with him and one reason he is overrated imo is because he can do a lot, and play well, and look very very good without actually doing all that much. Literally the complete opposite of what Ibra has been doing. If Pogba didn't play today we would have still won 2-0. If Ibra didn't we would not have.

It might not last, but so far so Zltan. Every defender watching that tonight is going to be very worried. He might not have the pace, but his power and physical awareness are immense.

I wouldn't say he won us the game. It was Shaw who got us the penalty, he was set-up well for his header, which was obviously a good one.

I'm not trying to downplay Ibra's impact, I'm happy to have a striker on our squad who can flat out finish, but I'm also not getting carried away by him scoring two goals when there's still plenty of improvement for him as well.

Ibra was close to having 4 goals. It's time for people to start eating some crow. All this... He is too old, too slow, past his prime shite needs to cease. 4 goals in 3 games is fantastic. One thing most are overlooking is the physical presence he has on the field when anywhere near the box. He is a threat. He is intimidating. He is a beast plain and simple.
We didn't have this last year or the two years prior. We looked soft. Now we have a squad that can intimidate near our net, midfield, and our opponents net.

He and rashford together could absolutely rip the league apart. He doesn't suit playing with Rooney at all.

Especially if he's playing mata on the wing, we are far too slow.

I suppose though Jose has to make it fair.

You've got to be fecking kidding, right? It was a floated ball with little pace on it and he had to get Fonte out of the way.

That goal won us the game cause we didn't concede. The penalty is irrelevant.

Pogba's run is what got Fonte out of the way. Rooneys cross was great(about the only great moment he had), Pogbas run was well timed and Zlatan just murdered it.

I cant think of anyone else that I would rather have leading our attack. If only he was younger so we could have him for longer.

Yeah, Pogba distracted him that's true.

There will be critics, but Zlatan wins leagues. It's an undeniable record, and he's not a dick anymore. If there's anyone who bleeds United, who we need right now, It's him.

What a bizarre comment. Look at Iniesta, Modric, Xavi, Busquets etc. They don't win games by scoring goals, but they certainly massively contribute. Pogba actually produces fantastic numbers for a midfielder. What more can you ask for? He was awesome defensively today, and accelerated our attacking play while linking up nicely with our forwards. He was fantastic today, couldn't ask for more. Perhaps if we didn't play him, we wouldn't have had as much control? Like I said, bizarre comment.

Bizarre post.

We should have sacked Scholes too and bought another 5 Andy Coles.

So by that logic, any time a midfielder doesn't play a part in any goal, he's irrelevant.

That's not what I'm saying! Just in terms of performances it seems people think it's more impressive when Pogba does a flashy move that doesn't lead to anything than when someone like Ibra doesn't have the greatest touches but scores consistently. I can't think of how many "Pogba " posts I saw when he did a simple move, yet people were saying Ibra was shite aside from his goals.

I love having both players and am glad we have both. I don't think Pogba played terribly, but he didn't play amazing. I just think for this specific game Ibra was more important, although the comments don't reflect that.

Well thank god for that. I'm not sure what you expect. Zlatan scored two goals and you should look at the reactions when he did in the match day thread. He received plenty of praise. At the same time, Pogba put in a very good midfield performance with just over a week of full training behind him. What do you want people to say when he does something impressive? "Nice move by Pogba but not a goal like Zlatan so let's not praise him for it"

I remember the comments on Zlatan from a few years ago; "He's a thug, a bad boy that would ruin the dressingroom"

That header was immense, a proper striker's header. The one against Leicester and tonight's header are goals we wouldn't have scored last season.

His signing just reeks of RvP.

Comes in, rattles goals in and wins us the league. Cmon Zlatan!

So apart from those bits where he won us the game ... he was shit yeah ?

This .

One of the sky pundits said that he will often appear to not be in the game but when it counts he finishes. He did his job. Scored two goals and some people still find a problem with him

I thought previously last year that there are only 7 players that can literally win you a game on their own (Ronaldo, Bale, Messi, Neymar, Suarez, Agüero and Iniesta). Looks like I missed one. He doesn't need chances to score which is something we haven't had for ages.

I am not saying that's right because I love Zlatan and want him to stay here as long as he likes. But the idea that scoring goals is not enough is not exactly new is it. Fergie thought Ruud was not contributing the fluency of our team despite his ridiculous goalscoring records and thought Saha was better suited to what we had at the time. Basically it's not as black and white as if you score, all is good.

Hes just a winner, isnt he? The arrogance and confidence weve been missing for a while. Hes gonna score goals that none of our other strikers will which is great.

Why are the media making a point that he has kicked Rooney off penalty duty? Has Rooney been our designated taker since even before RVP got here? I'm pretty sure Mata is the last person to be our regular taker and that Van Gaal has a 'miss and your off' policy.

He's doing his job which is to score. Sure he doesn't look up to speed yet (same for Martial), but hopefully that will come with more games and more familiarity.

Your post is madness

Funny part is that Zlatan was not long ago (and I imagine he still is since both Messi and Ronaldo missed a couple) statistically the best penalty taker in the world.

There's no question he should take our penalties.

One thing I noticed is, during his goal celebrations, guys like Pogba, Martial and Blind ran to him in an almost child like manner. These guys are probably young enough to have watched him growing up and it must be surreal for them to play with their idol

It must be kind of strange being in the dressing room and suddenly seeing two massive personalities like Zlatan and Pogba coming in out of nowhere. I'd imagine it'd shake things right up.

Team looks dangerous. I see big things for our squad. Our bench is better than some starting units... Hell... got Schwiny on a lesser squad. We got a year to fine tune and get it right (probably gonna win the league) and next year we are looking at a run for it all.
