THOR!!!

When him and Rooney were standing over that free kick, the difference in size between the two, my goodness.

Oh, Barca fan trolling in Ibra thread. Who would have thought. Happens sometimes in Mourinho related threads also.

'When I come on the pitch I'm a lion'. Love this guy. He just exudes confidence, something our team has sorely lacked.

I captained Zlatan in FPL (was that sure he'd be a hit for us) and he's not disappointed. That kung-fu flick for Rooney (which he messed up, being Rooney) was class, that flick to fell Arter was genius and that goal was scintillating. Finally feel like I can't take my eyes away since magic could happen at any time. It's a feeling I've not had since Ronaldo (RvP got close too, in his first season). Now all we need is to drop Rooney and Fellaini and bring in Mkhitaryan and Pogba... That'd make 3 players capable for genius moments. When was the last time a United team had that?

The attempt Zlatan made to assist Mkhitaryan towards the end was perhaps the most endearing feature of the game though. Showed that he's pure class and a real team player. Could so easily have gone for it himself, but wanted to assist the new guy. Didn't come off, but made a real statement.

Only downer is that he's probably here for just 2 seasons :-(

I'm genuinely surprised by his overall temperament. He doesn't moan or throw his arms up in the air which i thought he would whenever he receives a bad or hospital pass. Instead he applauds his teammates for the intention and effort to find him

Same for me. I had my doubts about Zlatan and most of them boiled down to his attitude and ego. It seems those fears were completely misplaced for the reasons you stated. I also like his effort on the pitch - I was worried he might be a bit of a Balotelli type character who sulks and strops, but he is a proper leader and a fighter. Again, reminds me of Cantona so much, personality wise.

You need to have a work horse that will defend as well and not only players that are able to perform genius moments otherwise you will still lose hence Fellaini while he's on form should stay in the team.

Reminds me of our RVN days, when we had our big clinical bastard that you know would always have a goal in him even if he'd done little during the game. Definitely a far cry from our players botching the 1-2 chances we averaged each game last season.

To be fair, Ibra does have a bit of a CL curse but him winning us the CL isn't the goal anyway. It's getting us back to the top of the premier league and competing with the top teams.
Yeah but he is going to want that CL trophy more than anyone, and he will spurr the team to great lengths getting there.

Between him and Pogba - no other club can compete with us for "cool" - rival fans must be secretly so jealous!!

As a swede I've been tortured with Zlatan's career since he was 18 and seen the development of him as a player. He's changed a lot since his inter/barca days and is now a more complete player than ever.

When he broke through in Malmö he was a bit of a magician who could trick players and also bully defenders a bit, but far from the kind of muscles he's got today. He was promising in Ajax but would be a bit selfish, didn't change extremely much as a player. In Juve he was still just a boy but had a really big transformation - for the worse. I think this showed a lot in the WC 2006. He was so heavy he couldn't even move. An awful player.

In Inter and barca he became a world class striker. In Milan he started to realize he could brand himself. Before that he was a pretty childish and naive boy who thought he knew best. Of course this has unintentionally formed his brand today. In Milan/PSG he developed an image and leadership skills that has taken him to the next level. I believe Beckham has given a lot advice. He's smarter, stronger and demands absolutely maximum of his fellow players. This is only comparable to Roy Keane.

He's not afraid of saying what he thinks. He will challenge Rooney and question his ability, no question about that. Other players will need to upper their game too. A lot of them will not dare to be lazy at training - and what could be more valuable than that?

Zlatan is not the type of player that will chase the ball, he will be walking around waiting for the correct opportunity. He can also sulk a lot if players around (or himself) is not performing - often leading to confrontations in open air. Good thing for him he won't let his bad temper translate into red cards. He want to come across as a player with cool nerves, but I have seen him a lot of times when he puts too much pressure on himself and is not really that cool. Appart from the let downs in the CL you can find a really good example in 2004 when he's missing a penalty against Holland and on the way up he's trying to look relaxed but is actually a nerv wreck.
What I like about him is that he becomes an even bigger star the better players you add to his side.

Check his record in CL, should be easy enough to answer. And not like he played for weaker teams.

If im not mistaken he is 6th or 7th all time scorer in CL and 2nd or 3d all time for assists in CL, decent record i'd think?

Is it not obvious? Zlatan fecking hates Pep, probably your biggest legend and came at odds with the golden boy Messi. Obviously you're not going to be fond of him.

Not obvious.
Whether Zlatan hate or loves Pep have absolutely no relation to me. Pep manages City, so he has no sympathy from me. Nor does Zlatan. If they even kill each other, I have no issues.
I just don't rate Zlatan as high as you. Infact I don't rate him at all against big oppositions.

You should look at his selection of his best XI, and check the players he selected. That was after his Barca episode. Really disturbing comments about Messi, if you believe so. Link below. In any case, he's not the 1st player to say something bad about Messi and won't be the last.

to think we got him for free:lol::lol: the guy is just class on and off the pitch, I never doubted his ability, actually I had some concerns before the transfer if he's up to it at his 35 but he clearly is and imo can play at the top level for at least two season if he takes care of himself.. but I never liked him as a person I thought he's arrogant etc...

but he clearly is not he's just confident and wants to have fun, maybe this bit of hate for him came from the fact that he played for all big clubs and changed them quite too often. I got to like him really quickly:drool:

again to the fee, it's the best buy of the summer I mean, I'd only rate Aguero maybe higher than him and he's injury prone, their output could easily be about the same in the end..

Juve paid 75 million for an overrated fat feck who is at least a class below Zlatan, the same with players like Giroud, who is still Arsenal main striker after years.. best think which could happen to us this summer with Mourinho..

Zlatan has scored against pretty much every fecking team around the world, Arsenal, Barcelona, Real Madrid, United, City, Juventus, Milan, Spain, Germany, France, the list goes on - some teams he even scored against multiple times.

Calling someone genius and selecting him in his best XI he played with, yeah what an insult.

I suggest you to stop posting, you are really making a fool out of yourself.

CLARiiON, what you have just posted is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent shitpost were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this thread is now dumber for having read it. I award you no respect, and may Zlatan have mercy on your soul.

A quotation well used.

7th highest goal scorer and 3rd highest assists in CL history? If only Barca had utilised him correctly.

Bitter.

I've watched the vid, he calls Messi a leader and a genius, am I missing something?

There was nothing wrong with his best 11. Maybe you wanted all the Barca players in but that doesn't work like that. By far Barca players were Messi, Xavi, Iniesta and he named them all. Only debatable player is Maxwell.

Also don't what was the disturbing comments about Messi. He called him Genius and leader, maybe he should have called him student of the game?
