Willian | Signed for Chelsea

Strikes me as a bit SWP like, buying a player so that nobody else gets them. How can they possibly balance Oscar, Willian, Mata, Hazard, Schurrle and De Bruyne? Even assuming Moses is moved on.

I wonder if Kia Joorabchain ever had any real intention of letting Willian move to Liverpool or Spurs.
I was just thinking that the other day. Chelsea do have form.

You might be better off if you buy Lamela anyway.

Seemed like we thought Willian and Lamela combined would replace Bale. Former for creativity, latter in terms of goal scoring.

I'm sure we have other targets, Willian did come onto the market only a couple of weeks ago after all.

Forgot Marin as well. Are they taking the piss?

I would imagine the player and the agent will get a huge signing on fee, that's why the decision to go there

How the hell are Chelsea going to fit all those attacking forwards they have? Surely a couple of them will make noise about it sooner than later

Could this mean that he is the replacement for Mata who will be part of Rooney's transfer? I can't see why they need 6 attacking midfielders.

And the fact that they're in the CL and will be challenging for titles - tough look for Spurs that a CL club came in, especially one that's cash rich, but the window is open and any club can move for any player I suppose.

Mata will be gone for me. Would love him at United.

Something to do with FFP? Have a talent pool of attacking forwards, so Jose in years to come can cut the wheat from the chaff. Instead of continuously going into the transfer market to buy.

And what about poor little McEachran?

The Schurrle deal is the one I don't really understand. They were after him well before Mourinho was coming back so he's obviously someone else's signing. But he doesn't look to be in the same class as the like of Hazard or Mata, so he's likely to struggle to get games.

I hate this theory. Do you think they will now try and buy Lamela too? Willian is class, and Chelsea saw that themselves first-hand last season.

They were the first team to show an interest in him I believe, long before this window. I imagine that instead of them making him play in their reserves (you know, as long as he isn't in Spurs' team), they'll have him running around playing football at Stamford Bridge for them every week, thus revealing their cunning motive for buying a good footballer all along.

Also, must admit I did chuckle at Mourinho taking the piss out of us in the press conference. Do he and AVB not get on well?

They are not on speaking terms. Would be some buffoonery to splash all that money just to spite someone you dislike, but if there's someone who's capable of it...

Makes no sense... the FFP rules (if indeed they have any bearing on anything, which I doubt) are alerady in place. Spending that is happening right now should in theory count towards them.

I think its fair to assume that at the top end of the market all the clubs are looking at the same pool of players - i.e. the best ones. In this case a player who nobody probably expected would be available until a couple of weeks ago.

"I know what the player wants, so in this moment we cannot hide. That is a possibility."

The more I remember of what Mourinho is actually like, the more I'm relieved we didn't get him. Does he carefully plan everything he says to sound like a dick?

Roman's signing. Just like Willian is.

And Mata was. And Hazard...

After days of speculation Willian decides on the club for him;

Everybody except one :(

Mounrinho buys Willian, so Spurs don't sell Bale, So Madrid don't sell Ronaldo back to us.

Despite their apparent reluctance to sell Bale, Spurs are not going to forego the biggest deal ever in world football, simply because a player that only became available because of some Russian's whim, decided to join another Russian club.

Also a bit of revenge for the Modric transfer. Roman doesn't forget. Despicable club, Jose and Roman make a great couple.

Wait, when did they stop speaking to each other? They were bestest buds for a while - I thought it was Mourinho who gave Villas-Boas his first football job?

They weren't very friendly already when Villas-Boas was at Porto. I guess whatever happened, was at the time Villas-Boas left the assistant job at Mourinho's Inter to become a main coach at Académica.

It appears absolute madness to spunk 30 mil on a luxury player, when they have Demba-fecking-Ba, Fernando-i'mshitenow-Torres and a 20yr old supposed to be banging in the goals.

There's still time to sign a striker. I'm positive, we will bring at least one in. If Rooney is a no go, it'll be someone else. Mourinho said a while ago, we're looking at back up options, if Wayne stays put.
