VAR, Refs and Linesmen | General Discussion

Yes, if it turns out the advantage doesn’t materialise. This clearly was an advantage, it was a clear-cut chance.
How was a missed chance a better advantage than playing against ten men?

I posted the rules in the thread. Interested to hear your interpretation but let’s have a facts-based discussion when the rules are right there.

Another day, and more of the same. The Robertson red is as clear a red as youll ever see, I dont think even Liverpool will argue that so God knows why Lineker decided to act outraged by it. Clear foul on Rogers for Villa - hard to see how both the ref and var miss that (again you wonder if Forests very public leaning on them has played a part here), Cash was fouled for the winner, and Im not fully convinced the lines for Var were even drawn from the right defender to rule out Woods goal.

Out of curiosity - I thought we were getting the semi-automated offisde thing that we saw at Euros? That seemed to actually work very well and quickly.

And somebody has already said that is for when play isn’t actually stopped by the ref. A missed shot is not an advantage over playing against ten men. It’s within the rules of the game to bring play back if the advantage doesn’t materialise. It happens in almost every game of football.

Come on! Doesn’t get the ball, takes the man down who has the ball, no fecking VAR?

Initially touted as a weapon against bribery, but it’s just a tool for corrupt decisions.

Doesn't make any sense.

I think Walker should have been sent off for the push and then dive too.

Unbelievable

If pgmol has any integrity the guy at VAR gets demoted to the conference tonight. This is taking the piss

Its a clear penalty. What mike dean meant was 'not against city, mate'

Only in the Prem, nowhere else is application of VAR so lazy and outrageously shit. It's like they don't want it and are quiet quitting it every weekend.
Eeeh. Wasn't quite this bad(in that you needed a specific angle to see it clearly), but check out the penalty they somehow missed yesterday in Rayo vs Madrid

Don't you know, guys? In the official rule book, chapter 13, it CLEARLY states that in Manchester derbies, it's perfectly legal to scissor Manchester United players in the City box. That's what Mike Dean is obviously referring to when he says not in a game like this. The massive eejit.

 I didn't see that and will take a look

Anyway I apologize as I forgot to add that La Liga is out of competition when it comes to shit refereeing

Our penalty appeals are NEVER EVER scrutinized by VAR like they are for our opponents.

Also what a joke of a performance from Anthony we havent been allowed to make contact while City can pull shirts with impunity. 14 fouls to 4.

Not in a game like this yet last season in a game like this we had City being given a nothing pen.

Absolute sham this league.

This season so bad we don't even have the refs in our pocket anymore
