Transfer Tweets - Manchester United - 2024/25

Can we get actual money for him in January?
We don't need any transfer fee, we'd sell him for a single pound. Getting off his £350k a week is worth £30M in wage savings over the next 18 months.

One of the more preposterous transfers in the history of football. To spend this much in both transfer fees AND wages for a 30 year old Casemiro is just laughable.

Correct. One of many bad decisions over the years.

Will help us bringing new players in if we can rid him off.

That doesn't answer the question

The answer is no. Casemiro is worth less than £350k a week (not even half that really). Any "transfer fee" that gets reported is probably just to save face, and in the background we're paying it all back as a wage subsidy for Casemiro.

We'll be beyond lucky to save his wages. There will be zero extra money coming our way most likely. More likely, these are just rumors and we're stuck with Casemiro's corpse for the next 18 months.

Who from INEOS decided to tell this idiot?
Answer = nobody, crackpot journo trying his hardest to get the panic merchants hysterical.

While it sucks to hear, Amorim said this the other day so it's very likely to be true that we would need to sell to buy:

"We don't have that possibility in January," Amorim said. "You know the situation better than I [do]. It's not the case I am not arriving here and I can spend a lot of money, changing all the team. You know the situation so it's not a point to talk about

https://www.espn.co.uk/football/sto...en-amorim-rules-jan-transfers-amid-form-slump

Besides that we all know we're in trouble with PSR and we rarely do any business in the Jan window as it's generally very difficult and usually expensive.

I've just read Wissam Ben Yedder is without a club surely at 34 he could be worthwhile for us for six months

Luckhurst doing his usual doom mongering for maximum clicks whilst the mood is rock bottom.

Awful journalist.
But he likes the current manager because he is... friendly... during interviews. 'should stay even if united get relegated' is the most Lockhurst thing to say. Or 'should be sacked even when winning the champions league' if he hates the manager.

One of the least professional journalists around the club.

I doubt that very much. Probably Barca trying to get some bids going. This is from a Chelsea fan on Reddit a while ago: "It's a known fact that he gets extreme anxiety attacks randomly (like most of these mental health issues are). I think they increase after he makes a big mistake. He started missing a lot of games after that mistake in an EPL game. Was it brentford? Yet sometimes he also has the nerves to come in as a sub for Thiago Silva in UCL final and not make a single mistake.
Well, I guess its not our problem anymore but I hope the guy gets some serious medical help. Barcelona is gonna be rougher for him."

I read similar takes at the time of his joining Barca. If this is even 10% accurate then United is the absolute worst place for him to join.

The manager explained it last night. He also said ‘you know the situation’, because this information is publicly available, as are the rules around profit and sustainability. It has nothing to do with briefing journalists. It’s just factual information available to the public.

Can't we sell a couple of parking spots for 100 years to a middle east investor like Barca does every 6 months?

I just don't see the problem with money - who cares if we blow FFP and get a 5-6 point deduction next season if we survive this season :)

What happened to that mad Japanese keeper we were being linked with in the summer?
Zion Suzuki now plays for Parma and is a starter for them. He's doing okay for them but still has a long way to go to get to a higher level. If he's ever linked to us again (I doubt it at this stage), it'll be as a second keeper for us.
