Transfer Tweets - Manchester United - 2024/25

I just don't see the problem with money - who cares if we blow FFP and get a 5-6 point deduction next season if we survive this season :)

FFP and PSR are least of United's problems , Our issues are more related to actual cash we simply don't have money to splurge in January unless we earn some by selling .

When you think how much we could have available to Ruben had we not splurged on the likes of Onana, Mount, Antony heck even Rasmus

Nope - the FFP and PSR - that's the issue. True United don't have a huge cash balance right now - but they have a revolving debt limit of £300 million - and according to their fiscal numbers for 2024 (released in august) - they had only spent about 10% of that limit. There may have been some changes due to this summers transfers but probably not much.

So yes - we can in theory spend a lot of money if we ignore FFP / PSR and the fact that spending from the credit will make the transfers more expensive due to the interests. But - if we sell any of our home grown players (like Rashford) will solve any issues with FFP / PSR - and we will still have a lot of money to buy players for.

This is six months out of date but suggests PSR isn't an issue. Who knows in reality.

Well - we have money available - that certainly isn't the issue. I see three problems
a) Using credit to buy players - is expensive
b) Spending now, what we planned to spend in the summer
c) PSR

Interesting as hell, is it true?? seems legit.

Another bind of having the Glazers, Ratcliffe is hardly likely to sink vast sums of his personal wealth into a club he does not own outright and that he can in theory be forced out of next year, if he or another owned us outright could easily see the clearance of debts and the sale of land to self but with the chimera ownership we currently have it will never happen.

Even still gives some little hope that we could sign a LWB and a striker this January, especially if we can either loan or sell Zirkzee, Rashford, Casemiro and maybe Garna

Are we the only team in history to have paid players salaries to play elsewhere? I don't recall seeing it anywhere else, and worse yet we've done it multiple times.

Hope one of the Saudi teams gives us a helping hand here :lol:... like a combined bid of 70m for all 3 would be lovely.

Presume Chelsea are having to pay Sterling to play for Arsenal now. It's more common than you'd think, just only gets reported when it's United.

Perhaps with our new status of being a bottom half team, we could take some loan players who need some game time from the top teams.

It's extremely common. Most loan deal include at least partial wage coverage by the loaning team, and it's pretty much the only way to unload overpaid players. There are likely hundreds of players currently getting subsidized by their old teams as we speak.

If the Sheikh Jassim bid went through we would have been selling Rashford, Casemiro, Lindelof and Eriksen for about 3-400m to Saudi clubs.
But alas he was a fake sheikh and we will end up letting them all go for free or a small fee.

Yeh I'd say it's happened with alot of players that moved that was on big wages at a big club and moved to a smaller club that would never be able to afford it.

I’d be thinking Barca , Chelsea and Madrid at the drop of a hat

Are they still continuing with this nonsense? :nervous:

In fairness - if we win 5 of the remaining 22 games, we wont get relegated. Maybe even as few as 4 .... we might deserve to get relegated, but chances are that at least 3 of the bottom teams will take so few points it wont happen regardless

We have only 19 games left

If there are not going to get chances here then all three of Gore, Amass and Collyer need to be sent out on loan. Then in the summer can decide where they need to be moved on or can be part of the first team squad.

Tier 2:
Manchester United are prioritising loan exits for academy stars Harry Amass and Dan Gore during the January transfer window #mufc

Good. I don’t know too much about Dan Gore, but Amass did well in preseason, also against some higher level teams.

I hope he can get some playtime at a Championship club where he could be a starter. Next summer loan him out to a lower PL club for some PL experience

Can see us selling some youngsters to raise funds like Villa did.
Aren't Lille in some sort of financial issues at the moment? Surely I was hoping we would be linked with some of their stock

As it’s not his club, why would Sir Jim throw more money at it? Not like he’s guaranteed to be a shareholder if the Glazers turn on him.
Isn't there a clause any money he invests then either the glazers have to match it or he gets that value in shares or something along those lines?
