Transfer Tweets - Manchester United - 2024/25

If at all true we should trigger the one year extension and try to get 10 - 15 million for him. Overall I don't mind him staying as he has been quite good recently, the only real sticking point being his high wages. He's another player we should only sign a new contract with if he is flexible to take a lower salary.

How will it be a dispute if we have an option to increase the contract which is already agreed upon when Maguire signed the contract
If we haven't exercised it by Jan 1 he has the right to negotiate and sign with other clubs.

I don't think we want to exercise the option anyway. Maguire's on a reported £190k a week; very pricey. Napoli probably would want to pay him more like £100k.

Hopefully there's a middle ground where we can re-sign him on a 1-2 year deal for £120k-140k. We save a bit and he still gets more than he would elsewhere.

Not being spoiled here but I’d much rather Kerkez or Davies or even Ait Nouri (someone under 25 with a lot to prove) but I can see this happening. To be fair I think he’ll be good straight away if we do get him and I doubt Davies wants to come here. We probaly sell Malacia asap either in Jan or summer depending on Shaw. Shaw stays this season and next and plays his customary 10-20 games a season while León goes out on loan. 26/27 Shaw leaves if León is ready to challenge Hernandez and be a great backup. 27/28 León takes over and so on.

This is very good news since it ensures that Reuben makes the decision when he is ready taking away a potential card from Marcus and his PR team/agent.

The last thing you want is Rashford waiting it out for the pressure to build on the manager, him being picked and then strolling around the pitch like he usually does.

Osimhen and Theo Hernandez, whilst reeking of FM style transfers, would give so much more pace power and devil in our teams. Things we sorely lack.

Can Osimhen press?

Think Dani Olmo on a free could be great. He'd be a fantastic 10 and would add much needed creativity and energy.

Sell very expensive players like Rashford, Antony, Casemiro and Maguire to lower the overall wage bills. Should be high on the priority list.

Is Olmo free? Barca need to do something with their finances in order to register him for the remainder of the season but he is not out of contract

he literally announced he was looking for a new challenge but yeah
I should've added a note to clarify that Tweet: Rashford's unhappy about what happened in the summer, when United made it known that they're open to Rashford for the right price.

Indeed.
Add Ederson to the mix and we’re all set to actually compete

Pretty sure he partnered Sekou in midfield for Mali at the u20's world cup and looked outstanding. Really good to see we are widening our scope.

Before the usual mob start harping on about Theo and his off the field issues, get your facts right, the case against him got thrown out because the woman lied. The bruises she said he inflicted were shown on CCTV to have come from her falling, he wasn't even around when it happened. So let's take it back to his ability on the pitch and in that respect he'd be our best signing if we make it happen. He's a whole left side on his own.

Putting aside his off-field issues, he's going to want big wages and is already 27. For a team that's going nowhere this year, I'm not sure he makes a ton of sense. Him helping us finish 8th rather than 11th doesn't really move the needle.

Likely he'll start declining within the next couple years (fullbacks peak on average between 24 to 26, so he may already be in his decline phase), and very likely he'll be considered an "overpaid" player that needs to be shipped out by the time our roster is really good. For an Arsenal who just needs an extra piece or two he could make sense; for a team that's miles off I'm not sure how adding players like him on big wages makes our future brighter. He's a "win now" player when we have no realistic chance to do that; we should be buying 22-24 year olds who can grow with the team IMO. That's how most long-term winners are built, and United's been buying older guys for years to our own detriment.

I see people linking us to guys like him and Antonee Robinson and I just can't help but shake my head. It seems like people don't learn. These guys are 1-2 year fixes who are probably toxic assets by the time they're 30. Spending £50M seems like a poor use of resources.

He's been accused more than once. Your 'proof' alludes to a historical case, he's been recently accused again and it's ongoing.

Wrong side of twenty-five, high fees and a higher degree of divisive baggage?

I think the 'usual mob' are quite right to give poor benighted 'Theo' a swerve.

Buy back Alvaro and get another LB. Shaw and Malacia need to be kicked out the door. They offer nothing but injuries

Totally agree.
