Transfer Tweets - Manchester United - 2024/25

I genuinely can’t believe there are people who would want Pogba back. We would be mental.

Mathys Tel on the other hand I would be very excited about. Think he will end up at Chelsea or Arsenal though.

I dislike Pogba and thought he was more crap and frustrating and a distraction than the brilliant player he was billed to be but I have a feeling he'd be really good as the left 10 close to goal. Doesn't have to get back beyond the halfway line. He's got a good bust of pace, can hold a player off and draw fowls. He's got a good cross and pass on him too. Ugh I can't believe I'm saying this. He'll probaly just get injured straight away again anyway. I also kind of miss Jeppers the nutter wherever he's gone. If Pogba comes back he'll appear again. Now we have Doracle in the Rashford thread...

re: Pogba, I think Casemiro and Eriksen showed how short term thinking creates a bigger problem than it solves. Even with the best will and work ethic, the body gives out.

It’s the exact type of deal SJR wanted to keep away from and I hope he remains of the same mindset.

I get your point, but I would not put Eriksen and Casemiro in the same bracket. Eriksen was on a free transfer, shorter contract, with a view to being a bench option, with a decent salary given that there was no fee for him. Casemiro, on the other hand, managed to fool most of us with his first season, we paid 70m for him and gave a him salary where he is now almost nontransferable, and he was the answer to our midfield imbalance. His legs went overnight.

He'd be on a free and normalish wages now and he's past his prime so he'd be back with his tail between his legs hooefully with something to prove. I can't believe I'm saying it but he's perfect for a forward role in this system. He can hold the ball up so well and he's creative

Yes let's sign the previously highly injury prone player that hasn't played football foe the last year to play in a position he has never played before. That will work

There have been no links for a possible Pogba transfer. I think this might require a separate thread for anyone who wants to discuss Pogba's past performances as it's definitely not transfer related.

His artistic ability when it comes to our feathered friends aside, I still put more weight on the side of all the negatives and don't think we should go anywhere near signing him as he returns from his drugs ban.

If you annoy Penna, you may as well just leave the caf - moses New
PLEASE STOP TALKING ABOUT RANDOM PLAYERS, EVERYONE. This is a thread for tweets and initial discussion about those tweets. Thanks.

This shoud support our case to ask more money for Garna. In a world where Tel goes for 60m€, any deal for Garna should be closer to 80m€ if not more.

And Duran going for reportedly £65m - which is about 80m in euros. Shouldn't be failing to receive for Garnacho any less than Villa received for him.

Absolutely. Bare minimum he should be leaving for to any club is €80m. If its Chelsea, bare minimum should be €100m.

Kvaratskhelia went for about that didn't he?

The prices in this window are crazy.

Mind you. I've got 45 quid in my wallet tonight and even that is too much for Rashford

This rules us out, I would imagine
It's mad how everyone rules us out so quickly.

"Tel wants to wait and make a decision" Which is referring to the below:

Yet the very second something positive something comes out about Man Utd we have to question it

We don't have £50m.

Not necessarily; right now, Tel won't make a decision until he gets all of the options. So far, Spurs are the furthest ahead as they've come to a verbal (i.e. broad) agreement on the fee for a permanent transfer. This doesn't necessarily mean that Tel wants to join Spurs permanently. He might still want to remain at Bayern Munich next season should they guarantee him more minutes. That's all he wants at the end of the day: regular playing time.

If Spurs can guarantee him that regular playing time, and Bayern Munich say that they won't ever be able to give him that in the near future, then Tel will likely go to Spurs. Otherwise, he can still join United should Bayern promise more playing time next season or United put in a purchase option that they can trigger should Tel be successful.

Pogba won’t be coming back. First, it will take him time to get match fit. He’s hasn’t played in a year and a half after already being injured for much of his ‘playing year’. Our season ends in May. So I think we can stop this nonsense in its tracks

He could be an ‚inspirational‘ presence in the dressing room.

How many players are going to be "the problem" in the dressing room until we realise maybe we have just been shit
