It's not a midfields job to score goals. It's to control a game.
Barcelona have Messi who scores 60 goals alone, and with us and Leicester you only mention two and not three midfielders. A midfield three of Kroos, Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin would be too defensive.

Sometimes you'll get that, sure. But other days you'll get a lumbering midfielder who isn't particularly resolute defensively willing to lateral pass his way until the full time whistle. His general lack of athleticism is definitely influencing my view here - we've gone so long with such an immobile spine that I just want it to end. In our set-up he'd be paired with Basti/Schneiderlin who aren't mobile at all and pairing him with Ander would leave us pretty light defensively. I'd just like an all action ball carrier which I think Mourinho may probably want to if he gets the job - say, an Andre Gomes, or a Radja Nainggolan.

Would be the best midfielder in the league if he came in. In Mourinho's system would work well next to Schneiderlin probably, behind whoever we decide to use as the 10. Laughable to say he's not good enough. Though I would prefer someone like Gundogan to play there because of his energy and being more of an adventurous player.
I also prefer Modric. But I think he's too important to Real. Hasn't stopped them before though.still think we should look for a Modric type of midfielder.
A double pivot with Kroos and Schneiderlin could potentially be very good.
But with those two we would need someone in front of them who can drive forward with the ball.
He is like a younger and better Michael Carrick. I agree that he should not start beside Schweinsteiger or Carrick but he would be a clear upgrade on those 2.
We don't need him to be a DM for us. We need him to more of a deeper lying playmaker with the freedom to go forward. Morgan can play beside him and be our DM.Passing wise maybe he is better than Carrick, but as a DM? He isnt close to Carrick.
