Kroos and Schneiderlin would be a good combination. Kroos as deep-lying playmaker and Schneiderlin being our "Kante".
I completely agree with this. Someone who can drive us forward. Iniesta is obviously one of the all-time greats but his dribbling, ability to run with the ball was as important as Xavi's ability to dictate play when Barca were dominating everything in sight from 2009-2011.We need a midfielder with pace who's willing to dribble and run past opposition players in midfield. Our midfield at present are too one paced and mechanical (too obvious).
Gundogan would be my first choice but I am not sure what are our chances of landing him. Madrid and even Barca would come calling once he decides to move and currently we just cannot compete with them for players. With the non existent movement in our side and especially the lack of quality wingers, he'd be left to just pass sideways.
Rather get someome more dynamic like Gundogan.

Yeah, no arguments there. Both clubs might be in for a CM of his quality and you just don't get/keep a player once one of them want him.Gundogan would be my first choice but I am not sure what are our chances of landing him. Last year I was not sold on him as he was just back from a long injury - no the impact types either. This year my muppet list would be Gundagon, Stones/Laporte and Griezmann with Fellaini leaving.Gundogan is my first choice as well, and has been for a while.
He can both dribble past players and be a playmaker from deep.
We should have gotten him last year, now I fear he is out of reach.

I agree Gündogan would be an ideal partner for Schneiderlin imo but it will be hard to get him. Every top club in Europe will be after him with just one year left on his contract.
If we're sticking with 4-2-3-1 kroos will be perfect next to Morgan. Not sure if kroos will jump on board the city train after leaving bayern for real when pep was about. A lot depends on Real too I predict a shock galactico being culled in James, not sure if they will let two go. If we get Jose in as manager I think Pogba is more his type of player
Gundogan it seems is going to city with the telegraph reporting today his agent has met with city
More chance of seeing sir Alex return to the dugout on a unicorn looking for a flying pig.Schneiderlin - Kroos
Memphis - Pogba - Martial
Zlatan
Maybe the're planning on getting him to replace Motta, especially if Pogba moves to La Liga. This would be very strange (from PSG) considering they have a better version of him in Verratti.
Unless...

with Rabiot in as cover/rotation. Though that midfield does seem to lack a bit of creativity though.
But yeah, Verratti, I'd wager, is absolutely not for sale. He's probably my favorite CM.
Agreed. It would depend on their roles I guess - both Matuidi and Verratti are hard workers who get around the pitch well. That midfield looks great to dominate possession but Kroos is a pretty huge downgrade physically and in terms of defensive abilities compared to Motta.
I'd be very worried about the defensive stabilitym

Reading this thread you would think people here are talking about Barry instead of Kroos
I actually think he'd be a very good signing if possible.
He's a very good player but wouldn't help us at all, as many here have noted.
He was on Ferguson's wants list, right? That's why Moyes chased him when he arrived at the club?
Exactly. With Motta declining and entering his last season next year we would do well to look for a replacement right now. We've been linked with a €100m offer for Busquets but Barca doesn't seem interested.Maybe the're planning on getting him to replace Motta, especially if Pogba moves to La Liga.

Indeed but a lot are wanting a dynamic and energetic midfielder (understandably so) which is the type of player Jose wouldn't use in cm (double pivot).
