Toni Kroos

Let it rest. The ship sailed.

Lots of chatter he wants out at RMadrid.
If so, we should be all over that!

We can forget the cream of the crop unless we get champions league football. Otherwise we'll be overpaying to get money grabs and over the hill veterans. If we don't get top 4, we should rather invest in players like Martial in that 19-23 age frame where the player is ready to play in the first team and hungry enough for the challenge.

How did things end at Bayern with Pep? I could see him going to City if things aren't too sour. He'd suit them well and would allow them to refresh the midfield a bit.

If Real Madrid really opens for a talk that means he's available and we must act quickly and try to sign Kroos no matter what. In my opinion he's a world class midfielder who can dictate a tempo. Manchester United quality for sure.

Do not want. Plays attractive, intelligent football. Doesn't deserve to give up on life just yet by coming to such a hopeless shower of shite. Talk to me when we have a proper manager; because we could have fecking Jesus up front and the only thing Van Gaal would tap into was his fear of crosses..

He wanted him to stay.

Didnt he turn us down? If so he can get fecked.

Didn't Journos say Van Gaal pulled the plug?

Even if he turned us down, why would he have chosen us ahead of a team who won the champions league? It's a no brainer really. We finished 7th too that year.

Should De Gea get fecked too? As he'd be out the door in two seconds if he could.

Fabregas, Maniche, Alonso, and Deco say hello.

Cesc aside (who's also not a typical Mourinho player) those players are all hard working, defensively capable players with impressive engines. So tell them I said goodbye.

Alonso, Maniche and Deco as hard workers. :wenger::lol:

I know you love having a jab at Mourinho. But sometimes you go way over the top. Don't you have better things to do?

Also there's nothing wrong with signing players with good engines like Modric and Essien. Unless you think there is.

Maniche was a bit of a nothing player so you might be right about his work rate, I don't remember him very well.

You've lost the plot if you think (until final season at Barcelona) Deco wasn't a hard worker though. Technical players can be hard working, and he most certainly was. Alonso was too, very disciplined.

R.e. signing engine midfielders, no, nothing wrong with it. All I'm saying is Kroos isn't a Mourinho midfielder.

Wasn't Deco a #10? At any rate Alonso was very good defensively, Kroos is a passenger in that regard.

To be fair Kroos' work rate has improved since he's been in Madrid.

He is one of the best midfielders at dictating the tempo of a game. His work rate has also improved a lot since he's been in Madrid. The entire defensive workload is shared between him and Modric. There has been a lot of games this season when he's been the deepest player almost a DM.
Find it incredible that some stuff want him.

I'd love him here. He's even better than Carrick (in form) at picking up a forward pass, and we miss this so much when Carrick is not in the team (or now that he's getting worse).

Who was also very shocking for Mourinho to sign. I don't really like this kind of midfielder in any case, I hope we stay away.
He was without a doubt one of the best midfielders last season, his downfall this season wasn't down to José imo.

He didn't show up after Christmas ffs.
Fabregas has form in showing up for only half a season so it's unfair to suggest Kroos cannot play for Mourinho. I also don't think Kroos is as much a defensive liability as Fabregas.

I never actually said Kroos couldn't play for Mourinho in fairness. Just that he (and Cesc) wouldn't be typical Mourinho signings and very much against the grain of what he'd usually go for.

I wouldn't be too sure. There was one moment in the 2012 CL semi second leg when Kroos strolled through the entire Real midfield with considerable leisurely elegance.
I do remember they cut to Mourinho's face, and the expression was clear: 'I'll have to sign that guy as soon as I get the chance'.

He's a player who could control the entire midfield with a more defensive partner (Schneiderlin/Schweinsteiger) next to him doing the dirty work. Just like how he set up his title winning Chelsea side with Cesc and Matic.

For half a season til he shit himself and moved Cesc up behind the striker.
