I think it's pretty well known that even before his presidential aspirations, neither American banks nor American investors wanted anything to do with Trump due to his casino fiascos, amongst others. Seems like Russians stepped right in and the Trumps was happy to receive their money (laundering). His sons appear to corroborate this. If the GOP's beloved leader is compromised, they would surely support in order to save their party and their own skin. This is not rocket science.

I don't think the GOP is comparable to FN, so I wouldn't make that parallel. The FN has a history of bad financial management on top of a shady political line which led to french banks refusing to finance them, in France political parties can't be financed by sponsors like in the US.
If your theory is close to the truth than the GOP is filled with absolute weapons or they have become extremely rich through those ties.
