The Trump Presidency | Biden Inaugurated

The contrast between fox and almost every other channel is polemic.
For some reason though hospitals always seem to be airing fox. I noticed this a few years back when my daughter did her ACL.

From what I've heard, Fox is basically the old American's Bible. They read the Bible too but take Fox more literally.

Yes, I think that he did the right thing. Firing Comey back then would be seen as trying to silence him on the email controversy (before the election) or "punishing him" (after the election).

It reminds me of this:

It didn't go well!

He had ZERO reason to fire Comey in the first place. Even if most of them didn't like what Comey did at the time, it wasn't sufficient reason to relieve him of his job.

One of the problems is they only listen to (and believe) right wing news. Fox news, info wars etc.
They have been indoctrinated to not believe anything any other media says and it's a huge echo chamber in which they are relaying to each other right wing conspiracy theories and it bounces back and forth till it is reality to them.
Look at the Romney Obama debate for example...Romney was convinced that Obama had taken over 14 days to call Benghazi an act of terror when in fact Obama described it as an act of terror the day after.
Romney embarrassed himself because he only listened to right wing (most likely fox in this case) media and they deal in 'alternative facts' that are never challenged. So if someone high up like Romney is getting basic shit wrong imagine what the red state layman must think?
Good point. This is why I don't like picking on religion as the source of all problems. I just feel that a large part of politics have this religious aspect to it. People choosing some authority that they deem unquestionable and therefore dismiss everything that says otherwise regardless of how reasonable or factually correct it may be. It's almost as though the heart of problem is not those authorities in themselves but the this desperate need to worship.

For politicians to be 'successful' they need sheep. A logical thinking, smart and well educated base isn't exactly what they hope for. There's a massive difference between a leader and politician.

I'm rooting for it.
I see where you coming from :D. I said before that the US and West in general probably deserve this. The level of whinnying about how incompetent everyone is and how horrible life is over the past decade or so suggests either a population of the most entitled precious people in the planet or a bunch of idiots when you consider how objectively high quality life is in our modern times. But people quickly take what they have for granted and focus on the imperfections which will always be there. So in a way, the wave of maniacs promising radical change because things are so horrible is probably what is needed to serve as a warning to people. We humans always need something frightening to happen as we forget very quickly and WW2 was too far long ago.

But politicians are leaders and leaders are a lot of time politicians. The makeup of humanity means that more often than not, the set of skills required to want to lead and govern is also very much likely to produce a manipulating maniac. Leaders and politicians have always and will always have that side to them, the best thing we have done in the West at least is to make sure they are accountable and made it harder for them to get away with it, not that we have "better" politicians.

It's probably going to get worse for the next while. Hopefully a more educated younger generation will be less likely to buy into GOP rubbish.

It's both to be quite honest. The truth would eventually come out no matter how far Trump goes to hide it. The FBI, NSA and CIA are all investigating him and his campaign. The walls are closing in and he knows it.

Are the NSA and CIA investigationg too?

I disagree. You stop being a leader when your desires and political goals contradict the folks that placed you there.

Well that's just semantics. A leader is someone who leads/govern. By your definitions, how do you ever judge if someone's decisions are solely aimed at serving the public? The number of stakeholders in those decisions make such a claim impossible.

Nearly time for the CIA to do what they do best. What makes me feel warm inside is the thought of them taking their time until a Dem majority and then taking down this corrupt organization.

Maybe he's going to reveal he's been trolling us all and walk out wearing a Soviet uniform.

Unbelievable if true. Trump, not Tillerson to meet tomorrow with the Russian, Lavrov, who was supposedly in charge of the Russian election hacking.

Finally he can brag about his big electoral college victory to someone who cares
