The Trump Presidency | Biden Inaugurated

There's a theory he meant Sehwan, Pakistan, probably planted in his head by a half listened to security briefing

If that's the case, he seems oddly surprised that such an attack would happen there of all places, seems to think that Sehwan have taken in "large numbers" of migrants, and also seems to think mention of the Sehwan attack should be made in the context of a speech all about the troubles Europe is facing these days:

Donald Trump said:
Here's the bottom line. We've got to keep our country safe. You look at what's happening. We've got to keep our country safe. You look at what's happening in Germany, you look at what's happening last night in Sweden. Sweden, who would believe this. Sweden. They took in large numbers. They're having problems like they never thought possible. You look at what's happening in Brussels. You look at what's happening all over the world. Take a look at Nice. Take a look at Paris. We've allowed thousands and thousands of people into our country and there was no way to vet those people. There was no documentation. There was no nothing. So we're going to keep our country safe.

I think it's more likely that it was because Trump might have been referring to a programme on Fox News on Friday night, Tucker Carlson Tonight, in which Tucker spoke to documentarian Ami Horowitz about a film about alleged violence committed by refugees in Sweden. Personally, I think that makes a lot more sense than Sehwan, and it was on Fox, and on Tucker Tonight a programme he's known to watch.

He's so bloody clueless that he's repeating sentences all the time, padding-out his public comments.

Sytill fits in with what Mozzarella said though. Could have heard Sehwan and braindead as ever though "Sweden, perfect, I'll use that".

Ah I get you, yeah that actually makes a lot of sense.

It's just a theory. What's certain is nothing happened in Sweden last night so we are all trying to figure out what the feck he was going on about

Obama was a good talker in his own back garden but when it came to travelling abroad to take on the likes of Putin at the G20 he routinely crumbled. Say what you like about Trump but he'll never be too meek to do whatever it takes to ensure American interest is met.

He may at risk of being outfoxed but that's what advisers are for.
It is sad though not surprising that you fall for 45's lies. More importantly though, 45 is so stupid and full of himself that he doesn't listen to advisers who deserve the name because they are knowledgeable and experienced.

Yep seems the most likely. Also adds another layer of WTF to the presidency... not only is he getting most of his briefings from Fox&Friends, he's only half-listening to the reports.

WTF? Indeed, it's downright fecking scary is what it is. But how many times have we been saying that? It's not even a daily occurrence anymore, sometimes it's almost hourly.

Guys seriously the anti-trump news is effin ridiculous these days. First of all he didn't make up a terrorist attack. He said that Sweden had taken large numbers of refugees and were having problems as a result.
Here's the article and video. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...is-refugee-centre-florida-rally-a7588516.html

He specifically used the wording of 'last night' though. And even if he's quite right to point out terrorist dangers in Europe, he was notably quiet when it came to the mosque attack in Canada the other week. I'd like to see him offer a similar condemnation of all forms of terrorism.

Don't believe he's mentioned that one at all. He's not racist though. Definitely not.

So you accuse the media for reporting verbatim what he said - 'look what's happening last night in Sweden'? Are you Kellyanne in disguise?

Someone needs to ask him about the very real issue of white supremist extremism. Statistically it's the counties biggest terrorism issue.

A real attack. This is a huge blemish on a ragged presidency not to have mentioned this at all, still!

The bar seems to sink lower and lower in that regard. Genuinely seen defences of his birther comments lately.

These hit and run Trumpers are getting more and more desperate the longer this goes on. In, post something that's easily debunked and then out again, they don't even wait to read the debunking or even bother to argue back anymore. It's actually really quite SAD!

Come on people, Trump didn't say what you thought he did. He was just using different words.

Where the hell did they dump Katrina Pierson after the election.

The thing is now you'll have uninformed republican supporters thinking something really did happen in Sweden on Friday night.
Has Fox come out and said he was wrong?

Been a while since we've seen any of them, really. Miss em', almost...

They think he was referring vaguely somehow to immigrants causing rising crime rates, and that the joke is on Libs because he's doing it intentionally to distract them.

And no, I'm not making this up...

Its pretty hilarious watching Priebus go from mainstream GOP operative to angry Trump fake news sycophant.
it is hilarious. On the other hand, it's kind of messed up. It adds further fuel to the notion, Trump can't be and won't be 'tempered' - instead, those around him will 'give in' to him.

Have just watched 45's speech from yesterday. He is very strong in front of his admirers and this speech will have energised him and his support base. Its a clever move from him; if I was him, I'd stick to this medium to distribute his messages whilst this impasse with the media plays out.

Out of interest, is his interventions on Airforce 1 and the new army jet surely because of his business nous? Surely any administration would have top negotiators to get good prices?
