The Trump Presidency | Biden Inaugurated

I personally think 2 Billion Muslims should start boycotting US goods and services. That usually teaches businessmen lessons.

They should have done so prior to Trump really.

Won't happen though, the Gulf Arabs will predictably crawl up his orange anal cavity.

I personally think the entire world should start boycotting Trump's businesses and US products until they elect a competent adult as President.

Even though most majority Muslim countries are not on the list "extreme vetting" will mean most applicants will not be granted entry visas. What happens to green card holders or US citizens who have relatives or married to people in those Muslim countries that are banned from entry?

Is this not against the US constitution banning government from either favouring or discriminating against particular religions?
I read it gets around it as its apllied to only certain countries. Malaysians aren't affected for example. Whereas Christian Syrians presumably are.

There are sure to be lawsuits, so we'll find out through those. But unfortunately from what I understand the law does grant the executive a pretty broad mandate to allow/deny visitors.

Can't their children vote when they grow up though? Thought their children if born in the US can get citizenship.
Yes, but it's mostly a red herring. Cheap migrant labor is good for most sectors.

Immigration is a net positive for the US; this is an out growth of Xenophobia that has its roots in a sentimentality for a post WWII America which will never be replicated.

Never really.

You can perhaps make a link between Iran and the 83 US Embassy bombing in Beirut, but nothing that has involved an Iranian national.

That would hardly count though since it happened to US troops stationed in Lebanon. A ban on individual Iranians entering the US isn't gonna prevent US troops abroad being a target. Ridiculous ban.

Yeah absolutely, the fact that's the closest yet most tenuous link you can draw between Iran, terrorism and the US just echos how ridiculous the ban is.

To be fair, Iran is probably the nation most guilty of state-sponsored terrorism that has affected the US.

The world's gone completely to shit. Strongmen, nationalists and idiots in power or on the verge of power everywhere.

Reasonable chance we will all be dead by this time next year.

Many people in the USA have problematic prejudice against certain immigrants; especially about Muslims but also about Mexicans. Mexican immigrants (including illegals) are less likely to commit violent crimes compared to US citizens. Yet somehow they are the rapists. I also think (100% sure so), that not a single citizen from any of the banned countries has actually committed any terrorist attack in the USA since 9/11. Muslims in the USA are extremely well integrated, but people have a completely different view, because they hear all this fear mongering in the media for over a decade now. The US administrations pushed the narrative that they have to fight overseas to keep them save. It is not that hard to see why people agree with the conclusion that you should ban Muslims from some of these countries.

How the new administration is going to handle Iran will be interesting. Flynn believes every conspiracy that exist ("Flynn-facts") and echoes many of the crazy believes of Michael Ledeen (they wrote a book). They see Iran as the ultimate evil in the world that is trying to destroy the USA (with countries like Nicaragua or Honduras). Bannon believes in the ultimate clash of civilisation: Judeo-Christian west vs evil Muslims. Not sure if John Bolton is still in the race to get any job, but he'd complete the unholy trinity of lunatics. Add the very strong influence of Israel in this administration (e.g. Kushner) and it doesn't come as a surprise that Iran might be in for a treat.
I guess Mattis is by far the least crazy person when it comes to foreign policy and he is hardly a dove. At least he is keeping the nuclear deal alive.

Are you all depressed enough about Trump yet? No, I don't think so. Here you go..

That's nothing new, unfortunately, watch a documentary called "Gods Next Army"

I saw it years ago on Channel 4 in the UK, one of the scariest and most depressing things I have watched. It really seems as if much of their work is beginning to come to fruition and have an effect now too.

To be fair to Trump he is doing exactly what he had outlined.

He's going against Muslims due to terrorism but guns kill way way more people than terrorism does.

Wasn't he found dead on Boxing Day?

Yep. This happens around the time the senior cyberintelligence official is arrested for treason along with the Kaspersky Lab manager.

To top it off, the head of the FSB’s Information Security Center gets fired.

True. I think some people like me, thought he may pivot to his old pre-election self and moderate his views and policies. But he's doing exactly what he campaigned to do, which makes sense when you think about it, as he has to keep his base happy otherwise his popular support will erode quickly.

I think maybe a Somali or someone of Somali origin might have done something a while back but yeah, as I pointed out earlier the Tsarnaevs were Russian citizens and San Bernardino, after which Trump first suggested this ban, was a Pakistani guy.

Getting seriously worried now. I'm a Muslim American of Pakistani origin. If they can block green card holders, what's to say they can't block citizens?

I thought this new policy only applies to future refugees.

Why the heck are they refusing people who have green cards and are residing in the USA, but gone abroad for holidays?

This is fascism plain and simple. We're past worrying how bad things could be, If Trump gets his way there will be a genocide.

Nope. it's green card holders who were outside the country when the order was passed. Literally fecking creating refugees out of permanent US residents.

Well don't worry about the citizenship issue. Anyone with a passport is obviously in a different category to this.
