Ok, but why would you separate, Trump-Russia and Trump administration? Is it not the same thing right now? I'm confused...

They still exist? They were almost popular amongst me and my fellow angsty teen friends, upon a time. Used to amaze many an easily impressed dog walker, playing my ukulele cover of 'Here Without You' in the local park.

I've been reading from a few different sources about how quiet Washington DC is at the moment. I've also been reading The Moron's quotes that Washington DC will be busier than ever and his inauguration will bring greater numbers than ever seen before to the city. At the same time I've also been reading about how some huge, sorry YUGE protests are planned for every state in the USA and also in 32 countries around the world, all to coincide with the Moron being sworn in.

This had me thinking and made me a little bit curious, I remember Obama's inauguration back in 2009 and the record number of people attending, some say as many as 3 million people attended. The one thing I do know for sure is that I remember reading that hotels in and around the DC area were sold out MONTHS in advance and people were renting spare rooms out for ridiculous prices to people from all over the world, so with this in mind I just had a thought and went over to Bookings.com to see if I could get a Hotel anywhere near the DC area for the inauguration or even the weekend. I was absolutely shocked to find that not only could I get a room I could get one in 119 hotels in and around the DC area (all within a 10 mile radius) and some as cheap as £200 for 3 nights for TWO people. To say I was shocked is an understatement.

True story: despite knowing feck all about Wagner besides the one above, I successfully bullshited my way to a shag with a girl who's a huge fan of his.

One would be the evidence, allegations and theories about Putin's alleged deal with him, the role of Assagne, etc, and the other would be about his cabinet and policy decisions and US politics more generally.

And...
TRUMP EDUCATION NOMINEE BETSY DEVOS LIED TO THE SENATE
Newly elected Democratic senator Margaret Hassan pressed DeVos on these claims. She asked DeVos directly if she was on the board of her mother’s foundation during the period in which large donations were made to Focus on the Family. DeVos said that she was not on the foundation’s board.

When I heard that, I pulled up the 990 tax documents of the Prince Foundation, which I investigated for my book “Blackwater.” Betsy DeVos was clearly listed as a vice president of the foundation’s board, along with her brother Erik, for many years, at least until 2014. DeVos was a vice president during the precise period Hassan was referring to.

At the very end of the hearing, Sen. Patty Murray, the ranking Democrat on the committee, allocated the small time she had left to Hassan, who proceeded to reference the 990 tax forms. DeVos then made an astonishing claim. These government tax forms, filed by her own mother’s foundation, were incorrect. For years. Many years. “That was a clerical error. I can assure you I have never made decisions on my mother’s behalf on her foundation’s board.”

Even when sending best wishes and regards to two seriously ill people in hospital, he still has to add a bit at the end to brag about something and make it about him. He's so transparent and truly unbearable.

I think people calling some of Trump's cabinet picks as "stupid" or "incompetent". The likes of DeVos, Carson and Perry are in control of departments they want destroyed. So running them into the ground is actually a win for them. And it brings them closer to their main goal of ripping everything apart so they can privatize everything.

Our place back then was around 20 miles out of DC. I know people who rented for lots $ back then but never really looked into doing ourselves despite being out of town. Know nobody this time. This will be like comparing the City and United parades.

Yep, underfund and make them dysfunctional and voila big government doesn't work.

It's a stark contrast for sure. We all know that The Moron likes to exaggerate but him saying record numbers is taking it too far and wishful thinking. I spoke to a couple of friends back in 2009 who lived in DC and they told me about everywhere being sold out and people renting spare rooms out, but that was right in the city. I remember reading about how everywhere was sold out and selling for up to 5 times the normal asking price, and some even more than that. You being 20 miles outside the city only goes to add more evidence to how many people were actually present for the inauguration. Reports vary from 800,000 to over 3 million, but judging from all the pictures and live feed videos I have seen, I think it's definitely closer to the latter number. I also like your analogy of City and United's parades, that's a nice comparison :)

Saying all that though, it's still an inauguration for President of the USA, and even though he is the most unpopular there has ever been with his approval rating being between 32% and 37% depending on who you believe, you would still think that he has enough supporters out there willing to attend the event. I think even with over 50 House reps not attending that would only give his true supporters more incentive to turn up and show their support. Like I said, I was absolutely shocked to find 119 hotels with rooms available for the entire weekend, let alone just for the night, I would have thought it was impossible to even get a b&b room, let alone 119 different hotels, all within a 10 mile radius and from 5 star to 3 star places, not just shabby low end motels.

With his thin skin, this could be the biggest insult he has ever had, and I guarantee that he will spin it no matter what. Just watch, according to him it will be the biggest and most successful of all time, the greatest ever. I'm actually now more interested in how many turn up to protest, and how many protesters there are in all 50 states around the USA. Then see how many there are worldwide with 32 countries planning marches and protests. The London march is expected to be pretty big, with over 19,000 saying they will attend on Facebook and over 18,000 women saying they will be attending on the #womensmarchlondon page on Facebook and Twitter. I just hope all the protests are peaceful and there is no trouble and nobody is hurt at any of them.

Of course it will be the greatest turnout ever. Historical, just like his landslide EC victory only bettered in 45 of the 58 elections. If they say landslide 100 times it must be true!

Not happening but would be hilarious if Saturday's demonstration had more people. Not renting but likely having a few people stay who will attend :)

Yeah, that would be amazing, like you said though, not happening, unfortunately. Hope you all have a great time, I imagine it could be good fun as long as the protests remain civil.

My sister works in a home with dementia sufferers and maintains Trump exhibits signs of it

I remember people (understandably) saying similar stuff about Bush Junior:

That obviously just means the Bear Patrol is doing its job.

I am now going to flagrantly violate the "no-hate" policy and mock Trump for pretending he was writing a speech

Do we have proof he can read yet?

 Seriously?

It's like during a test in school where a kid is hiding their work from classmates.

Rick Perry is in charge of Energy??

Just read an article where he said he thought the role was being an ambassador for American oil and coal :nervous:

On Thursday, Perry will begin the confirmation process for energy secretary. If approved, he’ll be taking over for former MIT physics chairman, Ernest J. Moniz. The Times notes:

For Mr. Moniz, the future of nuclear science has been a lifelong obsession; he spent his early years working at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. Mr. Perry studied animal husbandry and led cheers at Texas A&M University.

To be fair its just wishing thanks. If you get angry over every tweet of his you should probably stop reading his tweets and have a much happier time. Playing the moany liberal doesnt exactly help anyone.

I doubt if Obama had tweeted that anyone would question it. Save your anger for all the many many real issues at hand :nervous::(

Also to add to this,

In the days after, Mr. Perry, the former Texas governor, discovered that he would be no such thing — that in fact, if confirmed by the Senate, he would become the steward of a vast national security complex he knew almost nothing about, caring for the most fearsome weapons on the planet, the United States’ nuclear arsenal.

Two-thirds of the agency’s annual $30 billion budget is devoted to maintaining, refurbishing and keeping safe the nation’s nuclear stockpile; thwarting nuclear proliferation; cleaning up and rebuilding an aging constellation of nuclear production facilities; and overseeing national laboratories that are considered the crown jewels of government science.

Imagine the look on his face on finding that out

I wonder what Trump's cabinet has more of, corruption or incompetence :nervous:

TBF he probably is only tweeting that to say 'Look everyone The Bushes endorse me'. George probably just sicknoting it

I'm not a liberal, nor was I angry, just pointing out that he can't ever even Tweet a sincere message to seriously ill people without making it about himself. I think it's pretty valid that his narcissism shines through at all times.

Yeah its only liberals that moan.

The FBI and five other law-enforcement agencies have reportedly been working together for months on an investigation into whether the Russian government covertly sent money to aid President-elect Donald Trump’s campaign. “One of the allegations involves whether a system for routinely paying thousands of Russian-American pensioners may have been used to pay some email hackers in the United States or to supply money to intermediaries who would then pay the hackers, the two sources said,”

Yeah its only liberals that moan.

The left moan about things that have a detrimental affect on other people as well as themselves.

The right moan about things that have a detrimental affect on them them or (and especially if) it benefits people they don't like.

Yeah its only liberals that moan.

That quite evidently wasn't my point. People in their hate are so quick to jump on anything and when its threadbare reasoning it just strengthens the rights idea that liberals like a moan and evaporates any shared dialogue. Think we've seen that issue worldwide at this point.

Its like our resident non-united posters, they know if they want to enjoy their time here there's a line.
