The Trump Presidency | Biden Inaugurated

From the Guardian..

I can tell you that there is a significant amount of evidence that this came from that laboratory in Wuhan,” Pompeo said, when asked about Trump’s claim this week to have seen intelligence confirming the theory that Covid-19 was man-made and did not originate in bats and find its way to humans via a “wet market”, as is generally accepted. He did not, of course, say what the evidence was.

Pompeo added: “The best experts so far seem to think it was man-made. I have no reason to disbelieve that at this point.”

Then the exchange with This Week host Martha Raddatz got confusing, as to what Pompeo does or does not think. This is from ABC’s transcript:

RADDATZ: Your Office of the [Director of National Intelligence] says the consensus, the scientific consensus [is that the virus] was not man-made or genetically modified.
POMPEO: That’s right. I agree with that. Yeah. I’ve seen their analysis. I’ve seen the summary that you saw that was released publicly. I have no reason to doubt that that is accurate...
(CROSSTALK)
RADDATZ: OK, so just to be clear, you do not think it was man-made or genetically modified?
POMPEO: I’ve seen what the intelligence community has said. I have no reason to believe that they’ve got it wrong.
Um…

These people just make no fecking sense. They’ve literally reached a point where they can say two contradictory things back to back and know their supporters won’t care.

Me, me, me:

Trump rips George W. Bush after he calls for unity amid coronavirus outbreak

President Trump on Sunday took aim at George W. Bush after the former Republican president issued a call to push partisanship aside amid the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.

In a three-minute video shared on Twitter on Saturday, Bush urged Americans to remember "how small our differences are in the face of this shared threat."

"In the final analysis, we are not partisan combatants. We are human beings, equally vulnerable and equally wonderful in the sight of god," Bush said. "We rise or fall together, and we are determined to rise."

In an early morning tweet on Sunday, Trump called out Bush for his failure to support him as he faced an impeachment trial earlier this year over his alleged dealings with Ukraine. He cited apparent comments from Fox News anchor Pete Hegseth, who asked why Bush didn't push for "putting partisanship aside" amid the trial.

"He was nowhere to be found in speaking up against the greatest Hoax in American history," Trump said.

I reckon Bush will vote for Biden

According to the report, Bush didn't even comment on the trial.

Bush: "let's not act like jerks, yeah? Maybe if we work together like normal human be-"
Trump: "feck off"

Yeah, that article sums him up. No humanity at all, just a massive airse.

I can see the US death toll topping 100K well before 1 Jun. Wonder what spin Trump will put on that milestone.

"As I said from the beginning, everything under 250k will be a good job"
"You said 60k"
"No I didn't. You're a terrible reporter. Fake news. Next question."

"And you said 40k before that"
"Why are you talking? You're a woman"
"And you said it wasn't going to be pandemic to begin with"
"Lalalalala shut up lalalalala"

This is the 2D American version of the infamous Scouse classic. Every face and their facial reaction to the respective dildos are hilarious.

He has gone back to the 100,000 death figure in an interview with Fox.

The man is never wrong. Genius.

And of course if it wasn't for his quick thinking and decisive action, that figure could have been 2.5m. He will always have an answer to wriggle out of any criticism, whether it be factual or not. He will blame any disasters on the Governors when things go pear-shaped anyway.

"... treated worse than Lincoln."

Poor Donnie, having to face 'disgusting' questions from the media... But the people in Florida, with boats, love him!

The POTUS accusing morning MSNBC host of murder.

He doesn't realise that less is often more - even the most ignorant of his supporters surely know that comments like the Lincoln one are ridiculous, and that they're obliged to kid themselves into agreeing with Trump.

He's treated worse than Lincoln, who had half the country secede on him, and who was assassinated after putting it back together. He has accomplished more in his first three and a half years than any other president, which includes Lincoln who freed the slaves in his first three and a half years. He's been the target of the worst witch hunt in the history of the United States, a history which includes a literal witch hunt with people burned at the stake.

I'm sure someone must have made a list detailing all the utterly bizarre and pathetic claims he's made.

He's also the fittest president in history, despite leaning forwards whenever he has to stand, which must be due to the weight of responsibility and not five Happy Meals before lunch.

I'd lay a heavy bet that a sizeable portion of his supporters know sweet feck all about Lincoln.

Maybe you could almost get away with it if your presidency followed someone who was undeniably less fit than you. But he followed Barack Obama.

The world is responding to the largest global issue in modern history, and the US isn't even at the table. That's what Trump's administration has done.
Apparently at the one meeting that was convened, Pompeo fought about one issue - calling it the Wuhan virus - and since then the US hasn't come back when he was basically ignored.

You can hate on US foreign policy and for excellent reasons. But there is a vacuum at the top right now thanks to a man that can barely read surrounding himself by people who can just about read well enough to scribble some crayon down that he will understand.

But the options are pretty scary. Do you really think a world where we turn to the Chinese leadership is more likely to deliver good outcomes? Because that's what Donnie's ignorance is taking us towards.

Put another way, next time a crisis comes, do you want Jared Kushner to be in charge, or someone who has spent their entire life specialising in a specific area or topic? Because the former is what you're getting with another Trump term.

A sizeable proportion of his supporters think the confederate flag is the coolest thing ever, so their take on how Lincoln was treated might differ from ours.

Also a comment he more or less gets a free ride on. He talks About that number like it was a serious road he could have went down had he felt like it.

I mean ffs when there is a global pandemic that threatens to kill upwards of 2 Million of your citizens you are MEANT to do something about it. Not just sit back and let them die.

And when you do finally get round to doing something not repeating over and over how many would have died if you had just sat on your hole like it was a reasonable choice and Option you could have taken.

Read a great article this weekend on how Chinese propaganda measures are spot on. Compared against how woeful the USA has behaved.

The entire world is laughing at America and their President has enough support to say “No they’re not, we are best” and survive.
