I think Trump is baiting. Make the 'progressives' the face of the Democrats. Pit the 'Corporate' Democrats against the 'Progessive' Democrats. Remember the 'progressives' and Pelosi have had a disagreement recently.

Agree.

All the GOP needs to do is sit back and watch.
Instead of hurling the racist tag at Trump, how about supporting Real policies Pelosi and company?

The Dems can't beat Trump by reacting to him. They won't have a hope in hell if they fall for that. That lets him pick the location for the battle - and the weapons.

It's already started. Graham already says GOP was right in wanting to end Obamacare.....as nearly every Dem candidate except Biden wants to scrap it too. He artfully doesn't mention, Dems have an alternative, but GOP does not.

playing into their hands.

The only way to win for the Democrats is to talk Real policies. Only Bernie and Warren have done that.
Not attack Trump.

Policies don't get the headlines and do not get through to most of the voting bases, especially the ones in swing states.

They, the voting bases, only want to hear what they perceive as good for them, until reality comes back and nothing tangible happens to them all while they give the president the necessary votes to win.

Personal putdowns take the lead over policies. It's a sad state of affairs, but it's been this way for over 15 years now in modern US politics.

What you say was true for decades.

Trump came to power because Democrats produced nothing concrete. In fact it was Clinton who introduced NAFTA which actually hurt core Democratic voters.
These same people voted Trump.

My point is that these people should not be written off.
Putting forward real policies And actually fighting for them can win them back for good.
Medicare For All would be a real start.

But the route being put forward by Biden, who the MSM are pushing is call Trump bad.
Yeah. that worked a treat the last time.

Democratic Party has been in shambles and rested on their laurels, whatever was left of it, when Obama was elected president. Since then, they've been divided and are going so many ways but it's slowly moving in one(ish) direction. However, you look at Biden and Sanders...they are different than their 2020 Democratic candidate peers.

When any American politician brings up universal anything, such as healthcare/medicare, college, etc. they will get muffled from all parts of the political and social spectrum in that nobody wants to really pay for it, especially pay something for others, and there's too many people who would lose money or not get enough money. And lobbyists are the worst kind of people hanging around Washington DC....and special interest groups.

Lindsey needs Trump to get reelected next year and will literally do whatever it takes to keep him on board.

We've been down this route before though, Trumps tweets/says something, people get outraged, CNN do their monologues, Trumps gets criticized, #Resistance get #RacistPresident trending (that's a victory these days), and eventually in this non stop conveyor belt of 'breaking news', we move on to the next item for our next fix of outrage porn.
There is more to Trump's tweets about the 'progressives'. It rallies the base, brings immigration debate to the forefront, and makes the 'progressives' the face of the Democrat party. The likes of AOC and Ilhan Omar will be splashed across the media and on social media now. They've already done a press conference.
The problem is Omar has previously been accused of anti-semitism, Pressley has recently said 'We don’t need any more brown faces that don’t want to be a brown voice. We don’t need any more black faces that don’t want to be a black voice.”, AOC can be presented as a 'socialist', which in turn Trump can present as 'capitalism vs socialism'.
Plus as long as the Democrats main policies are 'OrangeManBad' and 'ImpeachTrump' and 'Resist' and no actual polices or solutions, Trump is going to win 2020.
Think about it, the crisis at the border (which the MSM called manufactured), economy up and unemployment down vs 'orangemanbad'
And finally as I mentioned in a previous post, Trump is pitting the 'progressives' against the 'corporate' democrats. Pelosi and the 'squad' have already had a disagreement, and now Pelosi is having to defend them..........

ANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNND HERE WE ARE....

What constitutes a real policy and what doesn't to you? And how many of those "real" policies stand a chance of becoming legislation, which is what actually matters?

This Steve Cortez guy is such a scumbag, I don't understand how cnn still allows his to spout his Trump arse-licking propaganda. Every single time he's on, it's disgusting.

This implies Trump is operating logically. He's just being his nasty self. A more savvy politician wouldn't send out a tweet that has forced all Democrats to circle the wagon (for now).

Simply speaking, he's a fecking moron.

He's not some mastermind, the only reason this works is because Pelosi and the rest of that wing of the party aren't worth shit. Opposing Trump's demand for ICE funding isn't a deep political question - it's blatantly obvious it would be popular with the party base. The fact that the right-wing of the party defected and then Pelosi decided to spend her time punching left shows her priorities (like so many of her other actions do as well).

And the war between the left and right of the Dems has been brewing for a while. Obama's popularity buried it, but there was Occupy, Warren, Bernie, who went nowhere for 30 years, suddenly getting popular in 2016, the shenanigans in that primary, etc.
I'd say the right is very very strong right now, and will continue to win. On the very broad left of the party, the only national figures I can count are Bernie, Warren, and AOC, maybe Omar. (Pressley is to the right of the guy she primaried.) Of those 4, only Bernie has net national approval and an actual socialist background. Biden, Pelosi, Clinton, Harris, Buttegieg, Booker, etc are all on the right.

It is important for the war to happen in the open however. The fake unity after the 2016 primaries didn't solve much and the contempt for the left is as strong as ever within the party. Every time the leadership punches left, they turn off another fraction of the base, which is the only way things can change.

No one cares what he does. Until such times as it comes out that he’s had sex with men or something then watch the hillbillies scrabble away as fast as they can
Trumpites will strap blue and white dildos to their red hats when they find out Trump likes shoving dildos up where his tweets come from.

Remember when people thought Trump wasn't racist?
Despite the victims of his racism saying otherwise for years.

Our only hope is he impregnates Kaitlyn Jenner and forces her to have an abortion.

Concrete evidence of him paying for a woman to have an abortion is about the only thing that will move his support with the Trumpites, and even then most would probably just say 'Oh that was before he became a born again Christian! Now he's done more for the pro-life cause than any president evar! The bible says don't judge people!'. They're basically a lost cause at this point.

Not sure what's more irritating:

1. That, just yesterday, after over 2 years of this, it clicked for a large part of the population that, by God, he may actually be racist, or

2. It takes overt shit like this for people to label it racism

The second one is more irritating for me. Anyone who supports him is either a racist themselves, or, at the very least, excuses racism for their own needs - that much has been clear, but not widely accepted for over 2 years, like you said.
But the second point? On this forum alone, I can't count the amount of times me, you, afro & others have had to say stuff like racism is more than the overt examples we see whenever something blatant happens - only for an example of subtle racism to be deemed 'identity politics', 'pc gone mad', 'race card' etc because the accusation of racism is just as bad as the racist act, to some. And that's just on here.

This is just going to keep going on and on. Either, there should be a censure and a punishment for Trump or no one should report this nonsense and let this die a miserable death.
