I seldom know where somebody comes from. I actually look more on the context than on who writes it and even if I am here since ages there aren't really many users that I somehow connect with a special profile. That has advantages and disadvantages...

For us Europeans American Football is often just a big show where a lot money can be made. I do not know if many know much about college sports and conditions. Before I got interested in some youtube channels of some Americans in Germany as it is interesting to see foreigners way to get to know another country I did not either.

I live in the States, it's just part of everyday convienance for my friends to pick up a $1 item before we goto work, i mean i don't as i cant any of that crap on the menu but it's more socially accepetable to grab some fries and some burgers on the way home or stop by Sonic... in the UK the only time we would ever get fast food is out of desperation i.e a Sunday and everything else is closed.

That said, fast food is completely different in both countries, least McD's has been trying to get healthier in the UK, not only a few years ago Burger King came out with the worst disgusting cheeto mac and cheese bites which would never see the light of day in the UK, when Milk or Dairy products are expensive as hell comparably anyway ($3.80 for Milk, $5+ for Cheese) then it's no wonder.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed but there has been a definite change in the language used by Trump and his cabinet recently. They have gone from calling the people illegal immigrants, migrants or asylum seekers to aliens and illegal aliens. I know it's been used lots before but I've noticed it being dropped an awful lot more since Christmas. Obviously another tactic to make his case be dehumanizing the people even further.

I'd like to know more about this research on the relative success of walls build in Europe since 2015. Which walls qualify for this research? Does the wall I build in my backyard to stop my future kid from wandering on to the streets count?

oh, after some research I found out that this one counts for Trump at least: Finland: About 450 miles of barbed wire fencing prevent reindeer from wandering across the border into Russia.

Serves em right, fecking illegal rapist immigrant reindeer.

Watching May and Trump scramble is a good indication that conservatism is going down in flames. I don't include Russia as I consider them a criminal organization right now. The question is will conservatism sink lower?

I agree but I don’t think it’s for the point you are making. Conservatism isn’t being beaten by liberalism, it’s being consumed by fascism.

Fortunately there’s long been systems in place to contain fascism and fascism seems to attract characters who are stupid and do illegal things so conservatism is first being consumed by fascism and then failing because the people leading the charge are dumb and criminals.

To be fair he's talking about all the amazing walls built to keep people out. The Great Wall, Hadrian's Wall, Theodosian Walls, Firewall, Wall's sausages, Wall Street, Wolf of Wall Street, Pink Floyd, Led Zep, Ziggy Played Guitar, Zippy Bungle and George. God that was a good show. A bit cagey now though when you watch it back. Lots of sexual comments. The point is that - and walls don't have to be made of wall stuff, you know - fences would work. But I can't call it a fence because the liberals will nitpick, it's not a wall because it's a fence. But it's a wall, a big wall. Not a fence. They say it's a wall when I say it's a fence, they can't stand it.

It’s staggering that a critical mass of people do not drown him out by now.

The price of verbally rising against him in the media is so low. Why are people trying to rise above it? Insult him. Call him fat. Senile. Forgetful. Attack his family. Call him racist not in a questioning tone, but a leading one “Mr President, as a known racist, do you think we should listen to you on immigration issues”. “Mr President, as someone that’s been accused of rape, why do you think we’d want to hear your thoughts on law and order?”
