So... Who is gonna make our military's most issued carbine and sidearm now?

(M4 - Fabrique National)
(M9 - Beretta)

I don't have an account on Instagram or Twitter or I'd post it to him myself
I don't think he can aswer because it's just a populistic slogan. You know how Trump is.

There is currently a procurement programme in place for an m9 replacement
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modular_Handgun_System

The m4 has not exactly been a raging success (particularly in sandy conditions)

Look up the success rate of our military's procurement programs. And... If something is brought in to replace the Beretta, it will most likely be made by Sig Sauer, who supplies our entire Navy Department, the Coast Guard, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of State, and the Secret Service (not a complete list) with their service pistols.

While the M4 has had issues in the desert, it is still THE rifle of the US military now that the USMC ditched the M16A4 in favor of the M4A1. It is of American design, but FNH outbid Colt to get the contract. FNH not only produces the M4, they also produce the M240 squad level machine gun and the Mk19 grenade launcher (again, not a complete list).

If the M4 is replaced, the only relevant competitors are being produced by Sig and HK (see the problem).

Read the series. I'd be shocked of there isn't some sort of conflict of interest connection between Trump and Russia.

Um, what exactly is going on there?

1. Nothing
2. Nothing
3. Nothing
4. Absolute nothingness
5. 3rd degree separation
6. Speculation

8. Publicly known info

That opening tweet would sound so much more authoritative if he cut the needless word "guys" from the start. It irritates me in a really minor way.

Agreed, but on the broader point. There is something really weird about Trump's behavior relative to Russia and Putin. He is literally bending over backwards to try and squash this story.

I'm not sure if Tom Arnold is mad or not? He's Tweeting stuff about his personal hard-drive and asking hackers to break in to get the info he (supposedly) has on the Moron Elect. He also Tweeted the other day saying that he has been getting hundreds of serious death threats which is unsurprising, and he also said The Morons team have already threatened him with lawsuits and The Moron Elect wont go through with that because he will have to release the tapes himself to show that Arnold was lying about the content, which of course he wont do. All that adds up to be fair, which is making me think there's something there. You would have to be completely unhinged to keep on about something like this if it wasn't true, and he has two beautiful young kids (1 and 3) so why would he put them at risk? I just hope he or his family don't get hurt, as there are some nasty and dangerous and very stupid people out there.

He is an attention seeker and is desperate to be relevant

He has been banging on about these for quite a while now. If he has something he needs to do it

Yeah, I completely agree with you there. His "game" of trying to get the Moron Elect to release the tapes himself is just ridiculous and obviously not getting him anywhere at all, and this recent jump asking people to break in to his PC is even more stupid.

Amazed Trumps recent tax returns have not been leaked yet.

Obama should make a call to the IRS and get one of their employees to "accidentally" leave a file on the subway ;)

WARNING! SATIRE ALERT!

(For Trump supporters: Satire is kinda like a joke.

noun: satire
the use of humour, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.)

I think it's legal games actually. There's a $5m bond in the Apprentice staff contract protecting Trump from this sort of stuff being published.

Would they be liable if it was stolen?

For a few minutes, the BBC headline was something like "Putin vows to expel US diplomats in retaliation". Soon changed. (I do wish I'd taken a screen-shot. Bullshitting bastards!)

I reckon he has access to the n word tapes. Would he really put his families life in potential danger just to get a bit of attention by making stuff up?

I get a call from Arnold’s CAA agent, sitting next to Hillary Clinton. They said, ‘I need you to release him saying the N-word.’ I said, ‘Well, now these people – two editors and an associate producer – are scared to death. They’re scared of his people, they’re scared of they’ll never work again, there’s a $5m confidentiality agreement.”

Arnold and his agent have not denied this allegation

Crowdfunding would pay any fine issued.

There is a $5m bond but countless people, including Mark Cuban, have said that they will pay that if the tapes were released. That was said way before the election and since the election thousands of people have said they would donate, so money really isn't the issue. Tom Arnold is playing games, he's admitted this. He is trying to get the Moron Elect to take him to court, but by doing that they would have to then prove he was lying, and the only way to do that would be to release the tapes themselves to show otherwise, which of course they wont do. Knowing this may be the reason he now wants the info to be stolen and then leaked. As to why he is taking this route I am not so sure, as I and others have said, he wouldn't be risking his own and his families safety over nothing or just over some exposure, especially as half the country is against him for this anyway. It really doesn't make any sense, and that is why I believe he does have the evidence he says he does, i'm just not so sure as to why he has gone about it all the way he has.

The Russian president has rejected a suggestion of the foreign ministry to expel 35 American diplomats in response to a similar move by the US. He said Obama’s act was designed to provoke a reaction, but Russia would not take the bait.

We reserve the right to retaliate, but we will not sink to the level of this irresponsible ‘kitchen’ diplomacy. We will take further moves on restoring Russian-American relations based on the policies that the administration of President-elect Donald Trump adopts,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a statement published by the Kremlin website.

Putin said that, unlike the Obama administration, Russia will not target foreign diplomats and their families days before New Year’s celebrations.

We will not forbid families and children from spending the New Year’s holidays at the places they are used to. Moreover, I invite the children of all American diplomats with accreditation in Russia to New Year’s and Christmas festivities in the Kremlin,” the Russian president said.

Putin said he regretted that US President Barack Obama is ending his term “in such a way,” but that he extended his New Year’s congratulations to the outgoing US president and his family nevertheless.

“I congratulate President-elect Donald Trump and the entire American people!” he concluded.

The anti-Russia propaganda is getting more and more blatant:
President Putin concluded his statement by drinking a Martini mixed with the tears of orphans, just like that horrible bloke from 'Hannibal'.

I would expect they were briefed incorrectly by Russian sources. It is a smart move by the Russians to make reliable Western news agencies look unreliable. It helps to propagate the 'fake news' narrative in the minds of the right wing numpties in the West that Putin has commandeered to aid his political aims.

You can extend that sentiment to Democratic institutions and Democracy itself. If they manage to sufficiently undermine public perception in both, then they can promote strong man authoritarianism as a viable alternative to western audiences.

His greatest fear is that the Russian people at large realise that they deserve much more economically and poltically. You have to give it to Putin, he is an absolute master at playing the part of the strongman and being prominent on the global political stage when economically Russia is largely irrelevant.

When you think what the financial expenditure would have been to influence the America election, it was a bit of a masterstroke from a Kremlin perspective.

He's definitely outplayed everyone else, I'll readily admit that. It just bothers me to a great extent that Western society in general is allowing itself to be outplayed, by being so divided. I've become very doubtful of our ability to adequately respond to any of the strategic challenges today, and to come. I didn't think this just because Trump got elected, I already was having these thoughts earlier this year. Now I've just moved up to full 'awaiting the fall of the roman empire' mode (still took more than 100 years for rome to fall in some ways, so not saying I'm thinking it will happen in next 4 years).

It was Lawrov who suggested 35 diplomats should be expelled but gracious Zar Vladimir rejected the proposal.
