This is a different republican party compared to the one in the 70s. How is this not so very obvious? Back then they had not lost all their integrity to the cynical partisanship we observe now.

They will not destroy their own party and chances of reelection .

Don’t buy into that common narrative of them having some great integrity back then either. The tide only turned when the proof came out and it became obvious Nixon was a crook and the public weren’t going to stand for it. All that’s changed since then is now the public don’t care either as long as it’s one of their own party.

Dems will likely be in control of the House, which is where he can be impeached by a simple majority. Republicans won't have any control over it.

Woop De dooooo. That means nothing at all. It won't stop him nor will it have any impact. If anything it will play right in to his hands and show how crooked the Dems are that as soon as they get power they hold a witch hunt impeachment trial for him.

It will only empower him, the Republicans and their supporters even more.

ALL DEMOCRATS FAULT! WE ARE STOPPING AID! AND STARTING WAR WITH MEXICO AGAIN. GRRRRRR!

Fml. He's currently at Mariana Trench levels of going off the deep end. Damn.

Their integrity may not have been great but there were at least traces of it.

For me the crucial challenge to the GOP will be what happens in a decade. When you look at what they've done, it's basically to become the party of old, white and uneducated. There has been a 30 !! Point swing in college educated leaning since 1990 (when it was even). Minorities and younger voters are all leaning more and more Democrat.

The result is there can be no moderate or even decent Republican. The only way to win outside of deep red districts is to court the Trump voters: that's all the GOP has left. It's not that Trump has grown into the 80 percent support amongst GOP voters, iit's that the decent GOP voters have left the party, leaving the worst behind.

And listen, because the US is f*cking stupid, they're able to gerrymander and voter suppress their way in some races. But that doesn't last forever. Remember, in terms of popular vote the Dems will likely lose the Senate despite taking c. 10 percent more votes.

Anyway this election is likely too soon, but there will be a reckoning for the deal the GOP have made. They've tied their fortunes to the ignorant and the old. Pure demographics suggest it's a terrible long term strategy.

True. Then again there's traces of it still today. I just don't like this mythology that's grown up around past politicians that they were honourable and did the best for the country. Politicians have been crooks for as long as there have been politicians, and some of the dodgy shit they were into back then when it was easier to get away with is staggering.

Except they're also normalizing radicalism. All it'll take is for a Republican to run who isn't a frothing at the mouth moron, and by comparison to this he'll seem statesmanlike and reasonable. Trump has managed to make Ted fecking Cruz look fairly mainstream for gods sake.

Next cycle lots more Republican Senate seats are in play.

Dems will retain the House.

Bernie will be president and he has not ruled out increasing Supreme Court seats. Having the Gerrymadering be finally decided on a fair basis.

Statehood for DC and Puerto Rico.

All this will ensure the majority are properly represented.

But the first step is 2018 elections.

Dems need to vote. vote. vote.

Ark at the fecking chops on this cnut!

You would think grown men would be pissed if someone spoke about them like this, I know I would be.

I thought he would be reaching with this one, even for him. But say no, I read some of the replies and it seems his supporters are buying this is the Dems fault.

For context these are Hondurans who are now in Guatemala heading for Mexico. Quite how the feck that has anything to do with the Democrats is completely beyond me, but he's managed to make it so.

"That lamp is f*cking brighter than the President!"

He'll continue to do it because let's face it, nobody's making him answer for any of this shit. For now anyway...

The shit is Royally (excuse the pun) hitting the fan regarding Trump and his connection to the journalist killed by the Saudis.

IS THIS the straw that breaks the camel's back?

Trump.being taken down by a journalist would be poetic justice indeed. Just a shame the Journalist had to die first :(

Yeah, the Dems are asking these people to leave their countries to go to the USA.
He is just plain stupid because he doesn't know migration is a part of the history of humanity. If someone doesn't feel free/can't improve his status in his country he has to leave. Trump's grandfather did it when he left Germany in the XIX century.

Whats' the connection?

So when is the earliest chance the average American can try to do something about all this? Midterms or not? If not when? Because real talk America, you need to get your shit together.
