Yet this comes daily from him in a week where he was found to have defrauded the US Tax system by hundreds of millions. That has hardly been mentioned as the week has all been about Brewski Brett. It's because he feels like he got a major win (which I guess he did). No one hold the man child to account. No one. His whole life has been one constant failure after another, bailed out by his family. He's like a f*cking case study in the importance of teaching youth consequences.

I can't stand the bloke, not one little bit, but he does have charisma which obviously appeals to a fairly large audience.

The disconcerting reality is it only really works if it’s free from corporate lobbying and you can trust your electorate to shun bi-partisanship tribalism or for them to even understand the issues theyre voting on.
But to take a less cynical approach you could say it works as advertised and the American people are genuinely getting the administration they deserve. Or is that still too cynical?

He has zero charisma. He's an absolute charlatan. The problem is that there are now more than x% of Americans that dont understand what charisma or intelligence is.

The key qualifier there is 'Others'. In America, his schtick gets a standing ovation. In most other areas of the english speaking world it gets you a punch in the face.
Americans are (as a large enough minority); insular, stupid, one eyed and unwilling (or too stupid/stubborn) to actually apply any sufficient level of critical thought.
The country deserves him. The world doesn't. Hopefully he takes the country down without damaging the rest of it too much. Illegalise abortions, cause the world to point and laugh, cause a stock market collapse, do whatever the fcuk you like buddy. America is rapidly becoming a global irrelevance and there have got to be a sizeable number of smart people there that are ready to explore other avenues.
If enough people cannot stand up and make a change then they deserve all that they get.

The country is fcuked. Writ large and impossible to deny. It's such a shame. I remember believing at school (2 decades back) that the world had 'normalised'. That the new normal would be ongoing. That America was spearheading the next great age of civilisation and that enough blood and guts had gone before that this would never be challenged. Never could I have imagined that I'd be proven wrong before I hit 40.
Wonder if it's an age thing, I'm similar to this whole paragraph. The odds 90s held such optimism, all gone now. Maybe people have always sucked but we were just too naive to notice.

Jesus, I've just seen the clip of Trump mocking Franken for resigning in the face of allegations, because clearly the very concept of consequences is so ridiculous to the cheeto orangutan.
The visceral and easy answer would be yes, basically "feck off world" answer.
But deep inside, no, I truly don't think that anyone deserve the politicians we have. Basically because after travelling extensively and living in several countries, I can tell that 99% of the people is good and they want to progress and see others progressing as long as their well being is not significantly affected.
I believe that politicians that holds power nowadays they are there because they lie and manipulate people, and they do it no only with technology now, but they had been doing it with very sophisticated sociology studies and marketing for decades. Unfortunately, human being is so predictable and sociologically boring that they manipulate us at will. they make as believe that we are in a bi-partisan democracy, but we are in the dictatorship of the manipulation were it doesn't matter if you are donkey or elephant, if you are left or right. They are the same with a few make up on their policies to justify the system
And even if people realized that (Trump is a product of going (wrongly) against the establishment), there is no option, any alternative candidate, is a fake non-establishment one and finally they become like them. Basically if there is a malcontent group, they invent a new candidate and becomes a controlled dissidence one. Will be an exception here and there, an anomaly that can escape here and there, but the next will "correct" what had been done
I truly believe there is no solution and I fall easily in despair, but if I would quit being political would be worse, because I can do it because I am privileged that can go on in life without the need to be political, but that would not be fair for the non privileged ones
