The Trump Presidency | Biden Inaugurated

Just watched Woodward's interview with Fareed. It's scary. America has a president that has no concept of reality.
A few Anecdotes:
He and Bannon get into an argument about his voting history. Trump insists he has voted consistently for 30 years while Bannon tells him he's only voted once. This goes on and on until Bannon shows him that it's a matter of public record, then he says "that's okay,.it doesn't matter".
Another aid gets into an argument with him about his donation to the Dems. He insists he never did. The aid shows him public record, the then says he guesses he'll just blow over it.
When Mattis and Tillerson try to educate him on the THAAD missile defence system, he gets angry, demands it is removed and out in Portland. :wenger: It's not just in front of the press, he's really demented.

Well I for one am shocked. Everything else I've seen to date suggests an excellent memory, consistent views and desire to acknowledge past mistakes.

Sigh. People still love him.

Who is this melt? The woman has provided clinical notes from four years ago.

hes the guy who literally shot holes into a copy of the new york times and posted it on twitter. and then for years since then the new york times has paid him for op eds.

its the perfect encapsulation of conservatives being complete pieces of shit and cowardly liberals doing their "discourse is important. we need to hear both sides" bullshit

There was actually a recent article in the Washington Post where they interviewed the Conways about their marriage: https://www.washingtonpost.com/life...89b82a-9b46-11e8-843b-36e177f3081c_story.html

Suggests that Kellyanne indeed is a true believer and her husband is definitely against her views. Marriage survives because they avoid discussing politics, have a healthy family.

That's got to be tough. You need healthy respect between each other.
Every time he criticises Trump, he is saying something about her.

I am about 5% through Woodward's book. It's presented in a rather plain way. It reads like a tabloid story. Is this normal for this author?

He is a storied journalist. Probably reads like that cause this WH is a clownhouse.

Think the vote will be delayed. GOP aren't going to be keen on bleeding more votes before the mid-terms.

She still works for the guy she's hardly going to say she's not a believer. Don't think this says much about how she truly feels tbh.

Trump on impeachment:

"If it does happen, it's your fault, because you didn't go out to vote. You didn't go out to vote — that's the only way it could happen."

I mean it's a serious allegation but coming out 30 years down the line when he is awaiting hearing for supreme Court confirmation will be easily seen and sold as opportunistic.

She has clinical notes from 2012 and initially was anonymous. Sounds credible to me.

Its looking likely that they may have to withdraw the Kavanaugh nomination. Feinstein is now saying she has more information about Kavanaugh that the other senators don't know about.

Its likely another woman has come forward.

He's finished if another woman comes out.

I'm a little loathe with the one accusation - not that it's not necessarily true, but that the timing is really odd. But if there's more than great, let's get it out now.

...although... what would happen if he was confirmed, took his seat then in 2 years the dems unleash evidence against him? Assuming a new president of course

Well this is the pattern we've seen in the past ie one victim steps forward and others are then emboldened to do so.

The timing isn't the woman's fault. She sent the letter to Feinstein all the way back in July. She did not want to be known. The Republicans made it clear hey we're not going to take an anonymous letter seriously. So what choice does she have?
I don't understand people who have never been in the same situation judging when it is the appropriate time to come out.
What do you do when someone who has sexually assaulted you in the past is about to become a supreme court justice...sit down and pretend like it never happened so you can forget?
She has clinical notes from 6 years ago, she's a university professor. She's as credible as an accuser can be.
