The Trump Presidency | Biden Inaugurated

It's what happens from now will be interesting.

I liked Obama's tone in that interview, he knows the idea of Trump not getting the presidency at this stage is virtually impossible so he's shifted the onus onto Trump himself. I think he knows he's been compromised and he's leaning on him to take a stand against Putin and Russia - something I think he won't be able to do out of either sheer pigheadedness or because he has indeed been compromised.

He's made sure a huge spotlight is on Trump's link to Russia and he's asked American's if they're OK with having their President under the Thumb of a historical (and hugely dangerous) rival.

And half of them wont give a shit because #MAGA! or because they want jobs over anything else, or because they hate the other side, including Obama so much that their judgement is severely impaired. Also, fake news! They simply wont believe anything anymore. It's such a depressing scenario to be honest.

Heh. There goes one of the arguments.

Assange said it wasn't Russia!

Assange: "We admit, some came from Russia"

The FBI deny the Russian's had anything to do with the hacks or influencing the election!

FBI: "We support the CIA's suspicions that it was Russia"

Watching Obama now I just can't see Trump giving such measured, thoughtful responses to tough questions for an hour or more. It will be interesting to see how he handles press briefings.

I think he'd struggle to get through 10 minutes, before we even begin considering a full hour.

He should be forced to do a lot of them until he snaps, runs naked out on Pennsylvania Avenue revealing to the world all his short-comings.

. As predicted every "promise" he made are now being discarded. In one of his pathetic acceptance rallies this (or maybe last week) the crowd started chanting "Lock her up" when he mentioned Hillary, and his response? He turned around and said "nah, that sounded good before the election, it doesn't matter now" basically mocking the people who voted him in, yet most were too star struck or too dim to understand what he was saying, because if they did they would have rioted, and yet only a few bothered booing. That right there just shows how little anyone actually listened to anything he said other than a few taglines or catchphrases.

That's probably a good thing

I firmly believe like with the recent Embassy in Jerusalem comment, that he's too thick and ignorant to understand the ramifications of such comments or actions. I also believe he doesn't give a shit either way about the Palestinians because they haven't got the money or influence that Israel has. As with anything. the moron elect is only looking out for himself and he's just thinking how much he can profit from this at home in the USA, he may have had a chat with his son in law, but I doubt it goes further than that really. He clearly hasn't thought how this will play on a world stage OR how it could go wrong.

He obviously doesn't give 2 shits about the plight of the Palestinians and is happy to give powerful donors free play on the region.

The Palestinians are going to be fecked hard by this but Obama did feck all for them anyway.

Will the people finally work it out and stand up against it? Or will it take impeachment and criminal acts that lead to charges and convictions? Or much worse, with wars? Whichever and whatever, it will all come crashing down on him and I can only hope that he doesn't take the rest of us with him.

No because the people who voted for him are life long Republicans and or racists, his turnout was worse than Romney and McCain. They don't have any issue with different nations of the world or minorities being fecked over. They consider both part of pariotism or not worth making a fuss out of if taxes are lower.

The Russians didn't hack jack. Wiki leaks had other sources.

Blind conspiracies on here based on trash news sources with massive agendas

On here? I must be imagining the 9 intelligence agencies and the recent CIA/FBI statements.

Redcafe is making it all up!

neither Hillary nor Trump...

neither have the honesty or integrity to speak like this.

He's not talking about honesty or integrity. It's the capacity to give reasoned, thoughtful responses to questions on complex issues. Clinton is demonstrably capable of doing this and has a proven track record of same. Trump is blustering dullard who couldn't pull that off in his dreams.

Yes because they are the source of truth and morality.

I expected more from you Pexbo, I expected more :(

So I'm supposed to believe Trump over literally everyone else?

You are aware that I think Trump is an absolutely disgusting human being?

Every president leaves his personalty on his presidency.
With Obama it would be of someone willing to see the other point of view.
Trustworthiness for example.
There is no doubt he would have won if it was possible to run for a 3rd term.

You admit honesty and integrity are important in a leader, yet still believe Trump is capable of doing a good job as POTUS? After bullshitting his way into the job? That's remarkable.

Trump? I honestly do not know. He may Fluke it..again.
Probability? not likely.

I must Once again point out.
She grabbed Defeat from the Jaws of Victory.
He simply spoke to the fears of white working class voters...who had been ignored. Obama did try to get a Jobs bill out...the GOP stopped it.

Ok. Sorry. My bad. I thought you rated him.

I do not. Never have.
But I do not want to prejudge him.
As Obama said, we as Americans want him to succeed.
By that I believe he meant that all Americans will be served, even if teh polices will be different.
His appointments scare me.
I am most concerned about Climate Change, not that Hillary was very comforting.
But Trump looks to be wanting to speed things up. Still I wonder what Gore was all excited about...other than being bowled over by meeting Ivanka.

More than that - he targeted specific groups of people who hold onto one specific belief and agreed with them and it was enough to get them on his side even if they actually applied some critical thinking they'd realise he's not the answer.

Look at the "anti-vaxxers" nutjobs. By expressing doubt in Vaccines and saying he agreed it causes autism he's suddenly got several million people willing to ignore any other issues and vote to get someone in power that believes their mentalist conspiracy theories.

Ok, fair enough. I can relate to that. If I was American I'd be trying to be optimistic too. He just makes it incredibly hard to see any possible upside to his presidency. Even George Dubya seems like a potential nobel peace prize winner in comparison.

If you listened to all what he said. Specifically on race, he was very aggresive/insulting about Mexicans coming here illegally. Not that it is true.
On Muslims he used the word Ban. That speaks to prejudices people have.
What he could have said was to review and tighten visas been issued to people coming from areas where there was conflict or something similar. But he injected that fear to grab attention.

What he did was highly provocative.

But this could have been countered with having a vision of how those voters Would be helped.
Demonising your opponent is very poor strategy, while still not offering an honest solution.

Look. We have no choice.
Obama has pretty much said he would be there for him. He tried to give cover by saying he depended on past presidents.
Even if he meant Bill Clinton or Carter, Obama had clear vision of what he wanted to do. He was a very thoughtful man. He understood History. Invoked great leaders of the past.
But I am certain he will not wash his hands off this country. He cares. you could see his disapointment that the person he wanted to pass the batton to dropped it.
I think Trump will listen. As careless as he seems, I do believe Trump cares about the country.
Sometimes seeing how many depend on you will bring out the decency in you.
I never saw the man as evil. Just a guy who was born with a silverspoon in his mouth.
Come the time, comes the man.
I want to believe in my country.

Who the hell mentioned trump?

Stop jumping to obvious conclusions. That's the problem.

Did you not think to see what the source of the leak itself said about it?

Assange? Yeah he denied it for ages before finally admitting that Russia was involved. I don't trust Assange one bit either. Wikileaks claim to be impartial yet withhold GOP leaks because "they're not interesting"? How about we be the judge of that?

Mate, I admire your honesty, and I admire your spirit and I admire your hope and trust, I just feel it's severely misplaced with the Moron Elect. I personally think he couldn't give a shit about anyone but himself and his kids, and I wouldn't bet against him fecking them over if he really had to. As a father, I absolutely hate saying that because I know that's pretty much the lowest of the low, but that's how little I trust the moron, and how little respect I have for him. His track record so far really doesn't lead me to think any differently. Like you, I wish it did, but it really doesn't. I just wish people would open their eyes or admit this. The man is a fraud and he conned his way to the White House, now he's blagging it all the way because he's clueless and not very intelligent. Sadly, his cabinet picks have actually been worse than I feared and I think he planned them all along. He just wants to repay his donors/mates and line his own pockets. Sorry, but the way he dismissed the "lock her up" crowd at his rally this week just shows me that I (and many others) have been right all along and he just doesn't give a shit.

Yes, but that Hillary though, she's corrupt.

I understand what your say mate.
But if we sink to the bottom, we are relly giving up on ourselves.
Logically if he fecks things up on purpose, he is screwing things up for himself. The guy is not an idiot in business.
As I have said before..this is All Unchartered Territory.

I saw Hillary as a despicable person. Still do.

...But better the the devil or witch you know?

EDIT:

And your 'point' is redundant.

Trump is going to be president.

He's going to end up disgraced or in prison.

The only question is: who's going to be Frost 2018?

Assange? Yeah he denied it for ages before finally admitting that Russia was involved. I don't trust Assange one bit either. Wikileaks claim to be impartial yet withhold GOP leaks because "they're not interesting"? How about we be the judge of that?

ok cool, when/where did Assange say that the Russians were involved? is there a source? Because I have heard Assange speak this morning on it and said the Putin was definitely not involved and they have it from other sources. His exact words were "Our source was NOT the Russian government". I can give you a link to the interview if you like.

It's not as if WikiLeaks would lie about if they have nothing to gain from it so there is no sense in going down that root because it is simply the antithesis of what they do and by definition, they release the truth. Also, I would trust Wikileaks over any government since they release the actual truth and documents, cables that the agencies you trust lied about. I mean isn't that the point??

Don't let your dislike for that vacuous cnut (Trump) cloud your judgment. Also, Hillary is just a more articulate cnut.
