If he was capable of shame, that immigration vote is embarrassing that half his own party voted against his wishes.

It's almost like his followers don't even care if what he says at all resembles reality. It's amazing.

A woman said there was nothing Trump could do to lose her support.
That right there is the problem. Politics has been turned into a sport. Like you support your team noatter how shit they become.
His supporters are fully aware he's a pathological liar. He's their liar so it does not matter.

Its a cult. A small number of republicans have spoken out over their concerns about this, but the rest of them are cowards who stay quiet while this stuff is going on.

Those republicans still voted for Trump and continue to vote with him on almost every single issue. There are no good republicans, the GOP is a terrorist organisation.

Trump has played his cards very well with various factions of Republicans, which has allowed him to continuing being himself with minimum pushback. For instance, he has stacked the courts with conservative judges, which has in turn kept evangelicals and social conservatives fully on board. He's done the same for social conservatives on immigration. That has bought him the political currency to do whatever he pleases on foreign policy, trade, economics etc. where the GOP may ordinarily push back hard. They are instead allowing him free reign to forge ahead with tarrifs, Putin, and other potentially thorny issues with minimal pushback.

The guy who Trump recently pardoned has retweeted a post on Twitter which included the hashtag "burnthejews".

That was a key reason he won the election. GOP voters who were reluctant to turn up to vote in 2016 did so because of the open seat on the supreme court.

Yeah pretty much what Shapiro recently said. While it's hard to get behind Trump as a person he supports most of his policies apart from the whole free trade role back and him being too friendly with Putin.

A really stupid way to think. It's like a home invader saying I'm going to take you're wife in to the next room for a raping but here is a nice piece of chocolate cake for you. feck it, I got some cake.
Does Shapiro use that logic either everyone he interacts with, I doubt it. I can forgive a liar once or twice but to lie multiple times a day in the highest office in the land and have people like Shapiro still supporting him but knowing he is a wanker should seriously bring his sanity in to question. We dont allow our 8 year olds to lie, so why trump.
Bad parents, bad people, destructive members of society. Deplorable.

I read this, seems a bit bonkers. It doesn't in any way talk about which cases are brought before the SC, just the record. It also ignores composition of the SC etc.

I mean, I'm impressed/ surprised someone who can do research and math could possibly support Trump, but other than that very little to see.

Question regarding the Supreme Court pick - if a nominee states he's fine with the original Roe v Wade decision during their confirmation process, is there anything stopping them from going back on their word after getting nominated? They could just say they had a change of heart?

And his supports don’t care at all.

It’s almost impressive how Trump managed to get his following to not care at all about such blatant lying.

You must know a lot of people like that though? Objective truth is a relatively modern idea, or at least it was quite recent that it became a fundamental building block of society. I chat to loads of people who just don't think of things in that way. It's all subjective. They believe in people and their ideas rather than the consensus founded on facts. It's a weird thing living in a shared reality that isn't truly shared.

I'm simply talking about Trump stating something on monday only to deny having said it 3 day later and still have his avid supporters defend him over it. There's not bigger picture to it really.

This is interesting and is at least attempting to think outside the box, but I think it ignores (barring a brief mention) the heightened partisanship that existed during Obama's years. Or what the decisions being taken by the Supreme Court were, and why they may have rejected Obama's views or wishes.

Yeah but that's all founded on them not really caring about objective truth, surely? They're defending the person not defending the idea. It's all bullshit. That's not something unique to Trump or his supporters.

Ah like that, yes that’s true. They see him as the guy they need, despite him bring flawed. A nessecary evil if you will.

Not unique to Trump, but it does take a certain something to get somewhat unconditional support like that.

The DHS secretary received a letter from ICE asking to be cut loose from the administration so they can concentrate on real crime and not concentrate babies. I really hope Mueller destroys this poor excuse for a man.
Would love to beat him during an election, but everything is good to get rid of him :D
