Scott Walker is deep in Koch pockets too, he was a big feature in the "Citizen Koch" documentary which if you haven't seen I'd recommend. He got pranked by a radio DJ pretending to be one of the Koch brothers and got him saying some damning stuff. How he's still in his position I do not know.

About as truthful as any Trump statement I’ve ever seen. The great deal maker manages to surprise us all once again. It’s a good thing that he didn’t become a tradesman because he would probably end up putting someone’s new bathroom suite in upside down, with shite flowing from the shower head, and proclaim himself the greatest plumber of all time. In fact he would probably buy all of the furnishings himself and still “pay back” the client. All the while the client is standing there wondering what the feck just happened as their neighbour shouts over to them “woooo! Greatest plumber of all time, you go Donald! Lock her up!”

WASHINGTON — President Trump singled him out for praise even while attacking other members of the Supreme Court. The White House nominated people close to him to important judicial posts. And members of the Trump family forged personal connections.

Their goal was to assure Justice Anthony M. Kennedy that his judicial legacy would be in good hands should he step down at the end of the court’s term that ended this week, as he was rumored to be considering. Allies of the White House were more blunt, warning the 81-year-old justice that time was of the essence. There was no telling, they said, what would happen if Democrats gained control of the Senate after the November elections and had the power to block the president’s choice as his successor.

One person who knows both men remarked on the affinity between Mr. Trump and Justice Kennedy, which is not obvious at first glance. Justice Kennedy is bookish and abstract, while Mr. Trump is earthy and direct.

But they had a connection, one Mr. Trump was quick to note in the moments after his first address to Congress in February 2017. As he made his way out of the chamber, Mr. Trump paused to chat with the justice.

“Say hello to your boy,” Mr. Trump said. “Special guy.”

Mr. Trump was apparently referring to Justice Kennedy’s son, Justin. The younger Mr. Kennedy spent more than a decade at Deutsche Bank, eventually rising to become the bank’s global head of real estate capital markets, and he worked closely with Mr. Trump when he was a real estate developer, according to two people with knowledge of his role.

During Mr. Kennedy’s tenure, Deutsche Bank became Mr. Trump’s most important lender, dispensing well over $1 billion in loans to him for the renovation and construction of skyscrapers in New York and Chicago at a time other mainstream banks were wary of doing business with him because of his troubled business history.

I'm waiting for the day someone or some nation asks DB to create a special purpose vehicle out of Trump's debt and buys it. That is if Russia hasn't done so all ready.

We are barely scratching the surface with Trump imo. Once Mueller puts his report out I am guessing we will see a sprawling web of International financial entanglements across the globe.

I'm no fan of trump... But I think with the vast majority of intercontinental businesses valued in billions you would see that.

Then business as usual I guess until he's gone. Trump inviting Canada's previous prime minister might be bad politics but it's absolutely meaningless.

I dunno, I think he is likely an anomaly...not saying we won't get Trump version 2 at some point but the most likely outcome are more moderate presidents that look to foster relationships with the USAs allies rather than destroy them. Who knows though!

The problem is that he is doing this with the Republican party. We can't consider it like an anomaly, when we are talking about a normal set up.
