The Trump Presidency | Biden Inaugurated

It's quite something at how extensive and how amateurish it is. Entry-level money laundering really. I won't be surprised when they find folders of receipts signed by Trump himself.

That's what I suspect as well. Mueller has boatloads of documents seized from the likes of Manafort, Cohen, Veckelsberg, and others. They have probably created a rough composite of deep financial entanglements by way of Russian oligarchs (controlled by Putin) buying up all kinds of Trump properties at highly inflated prices. Whether that was to get Trump in their camp if he became Prez or simply to cultivate him as an asset remains unclear. Mueller at this point is simply waiting on Manafort and Cohen to flip, although he may have so much evidence that he in the end may not even require their help. Last piece will be the interview with Trump.

I heard a disturbing claim that Mueller did not follow the appropriate chain of approvals when conducting the investigation and therefore his investigation and all evidence collected as a result will be deemed null and void, and thrown out. I hope this was bollocks.

Whoa whoa you can’t just throw this out here and not at least say where you heard it from.

I don't doubt for a minute that at some point, probably when Mueller gets too close for comfort, that this administration will attempt to have everything thrown out on some bogus technicalities. I'm hopeful that the good guys are one step ahead of this mob though.

There's no way the US can win a trade war with EU and China at the same time. Both the EU and China know this. Harley Davidson have already set alarm bells ringing. Word is Boeing are next to start shouting from rooftops.

I wonder what Abe makes of all this, he's spent years working Trump and getting feck all from him, perhaps he'd finally see the pointlessness dealing with the orange moron and side with the rest of the world this time.

I used to use a book for Business English that used Harley Davidson as a case study of reviving a business, and in the teachers notes it mentions when Reagan cranked import duties on Japanese motorbikes on the back of a petition from HD. Protectionism didn't actually work then either.

The evidence against them is overwhelming. Right from the Smoot-Howley bill to present day. There are other ways governments can help their industries compete.
The world seems to have game back to the 30s. For the last 70 years, tariffs have been a taboo word for a good reason. They didn't work.

Mueller is way too smart and experienced to make that kind of mistake.

Although it is fairly grim how she hears the actual soundbite she's arguing about and still has the gall to say "well I read it".

Reminds me of that time my pot stash fell out of my pocket in the principle's office and he asked me if I had any pot.(true story)

I said, no ofcourse not, why?!?! You dropped this. So I said, nuh-uh! never seen that before to which he answered feck off you daft cnut I know it's yours. Well not in those words since he's not a caf poster, but still.

You've been caught, at least fecking admit it.

There goes the champion of small businesses . A congresswoman as asked for Sarah to be investigated for using her power to attack a private business.

Hearsay, from someone who follows this quite closely. They didn't elaborate but I'll ask them to next time I see them. If the knowledgeable posters of this thread haven't heard anything similar then it's possible that it's just smoke without fire. I'd hate for Trump to get off on a technicality.

Think what you're referring to is the theory that his appointment was unconstitutional because he wasn't formally confirmed by the senate, so everything that comes after it is void. George Will said something similar on Maher.

Also, I don't think Donny knows the difference between a rule and an assumption.

No wonder he's such an arse clown.

Imagine if Obama behaved like this? The GOP would have already turned Washington upside down.

Something about to drop?

Don’t think it’s a response to something dropping, it sounds more like another example of someone on team Trump ( Nunes probably) requesting documents they believe can be taken out of context and used to drag the Mueller Investigation through the mud once again.

Which is a good example to use in response to this post:

I heard a disturbing claim that Mueller did not follow the appropriate chain of approvals when conducting the investigation and therefore his investigation and all evidence collected as a result will be deemed null and void, and thrown out. I hope this was bollocks.

What you’ve likely read @Fridge chutney is an article by WSJ, National Review or Daily Caller who have been reading from the Hymn Sheet provided by Trump’s Lawyers in conjunction with Nunes.

They’ve created a number of narratives now, based on events or things that have been said taken well out of context and packaged up to suggest corruption by the “Deep State” and argue that the Russian Investigation is illegitimate as it was initiated on the basis of invalid or illegal predicates.

It’s all nonsense of course and will go nowhere in an actual court, it’s definitely having the effect they want in the court of public opinion though.

If a congresswoman is investigating ol Sarah using her official position to attack a business then what the hell do you make of the actual President doing the same thing?

Its not his presidential twitter account though, Sanders used her press secretary account instead of her personal twitter account, which is why it was an ethics violation.

Didnt the courts a while ago rule that since he announces official policies on his Twitter account then it still counts as official? It was ruled "unconstitutional" for example for him to block users on Twitter, does he even use his POTUS account for anything other than his retweets of his twitter account?
