From @Raoul being made the thread whipping boy and playing serious defence to some seriously disturbing chat about racism and anti-Semitism to @barros losing it and some new guy posting pics of lynches and hangings and then Simonhch actually making sense and seemingly being one of the most rational posters (although still deliciously obnoxious and to the point) over the last few pages. It's like the fecking Twilight Zone in here.

This is something I never understood. How is Donald Trump with his history as business man and public figure going to stand for less lobbyism and establishment? Because he said so? Like he said he would deport nearly ten million immigrants, build a wall to the south (still completely shocking to me that people actually believed that, forget the political message, the costs for building, mantaining and guarding that thing would be astronomical) and completely abolish Obamacare? That turned out well, didn´t it?
Which person he appointed for his administration or is planning to do so until now actually speaks for "draining the swamp"? All I see is military brass, seasoned politicans and big fishes from the business and banking sectors. All he is doing is replacing establishment with establishment. His most sane choice so far would be Mitt Romney ffs, hardly a poster child for anti establishment.
Oh, and make no mistake, things have the potential to get worse for the US, much worse, especially if he keeps his stances on the trans pacific and trans atlantic trade deals and the relations to China (who is like it or not one of the US´ most important trading partner). No country can keep it´s standart of living and overall economical strength by isolating itself in the modern world. That train has left the station a long time ago.

EPA's the big one - everything else can realistically be fixed/improved upon in the future, but fecking up the environment may lead to irreversible damage (if we aren't that far gone already) and due to the size and scale of America may doom us as a species (again, if we aren't already doomed).

Nah, Ivanka's ultimately just a soft face who Trump can put out to make him look sympathetic at times, or more reasonable. If she gave even the most remote feck about climate change she wouldn't have backed her father in his campaign, or would have made much, much more noise about it as a topic and would be actively rallying against him appointing climate change deniers to important environmental positions. She's not, and until she's doing something like that her meeting up with Al Gore is just putting up media appearances.

It's just a video from November before he was elected saying how he knows the nastiest type of people, the ones who can't sleep at night because they sleep on sweat covered beds, unable to sleep because they are kept awake thinking how they can screw over the little man, people who don't matter.
