I take it all back @langster. He's not putting on a character to gain the support of a fickle base, he's actually a complete and utter fecking moron on every level.

I am never one for "I told you so" but I have to say..........

What's even worse is the last three pages of bile I have just had to tread through. Sanctimonious, arrogant sneering of the highest order, and literally with no obvious reason other than to just rile people up. All of it complete bullshite and devoid of fact, probably why they actually believe the Moron Elect because they inhabit the same alternative reality as he does. I lost interest and have thankfully used the excellent ignore feature provided by RedCaf.

Back to the real world and it seems the Clusterfeck Elect is yet again trolling a TV Satire show because it's clear it's doing it's job and hitting a nerve. Captain Thin Skin can't handle the truth and his only way of hitting back is by throwing his toys out the pram, I really do fear what his Presidency will bring to the world, as if the last month is anything to go by, well, it's not going to be good. One can only hope sanity prevails in the mid-terms in 2 years time, and hope he hasn't done irreversible damage by then.

*facepalm*

Donald Trump 'authored' a novel (and naturally it's about non-consensual sex and workplace racism):

‘“That’s what Trump wanted to know when I mentioned the deal to him. You know what I told him?” “What?” “I said,‘Donald, when you own the world, you get laid a lot.’” Couric looked at him askance. “And you know what he said to me?” Zeke nodded several times, “He said that when he was single and running around with some of the most beautiful women on the planet, absolutely gorgeous girls, he used to get laid all the time. He said, ‘Zeke, I didn’t have to own the world.’ And I said to him, Donald, of course not, because you already owned the air rights.” Couric smiled politely.'

Has anybody queried him about south park taking the piss out of him? He's surely aware of it but doesn't give a running commentary on it like SNL.

Worried about getting on the wrong side of his online army, maybe.

Excellent Tweet and follow up's. They have gone viral, and rightly so. Just a shame they will be falling on deaf (and incredibly dumb) ears.

Donald Trump’s White House Counsel Is Proud “Architect” of America’s Corrupt Big Money Politics

DON MCGAHN, SOON to be Donald Trump’s White House counsel, bears as much responsibility as any single person for turning America’s campaign finance system into something akin to a gigantic, clogged septic tank.

From 2008 to 2013, McGahn was one of the six members of the Federal Election Commission, the government agency in charge of civil enforcement of campaign finance laws. While there, he led a GOP campaign that essentially ground enforcement of election laws to a halt.

Yeah I remember a few of hers. But yeah you're right Trump is more memorable largely because he is a clown. The outrageous is more interesting than the day to day, it's why the likelihood is Trump's twitter antics will come back at some point and bite him in the arse.

While I get the Modi comparison you keep touting, there is a large difference between the two. Modi's social media is largely driven by patriotism and his family. As the WSJ article points out he is also gracious in defeat. That's something that Trump doesn't have, his notable tweets are about people saying bad things to him. He keeps coming across as a big man-baby.

He (famously and proudly) has no family, and people do believe that without commitments to wives and children he can serve the nation full-time.
Unless you're referring to the Sangh "Parivar."

I'm going primarily by the WSJ article I read about Modi and social media - and in it, family they mean his mother.

What a situation we have found ourselves in  .Einsten really was correct about the infinity of human stupidity.

It's been a constant escalation of feckwittery since his win. We just have to pray we're saved from eight years of this.

He's having a go at China for looking after their own interests (whether that's right or wrong is a separate debate) after his entire campaign and mantra is about America being the only country that matters.

I just don't get it, I don't get how this has been allowed to happen. I spent a good while thinking it won't matter too much because the President isn't a dictator and can't just go willy-nilly above congress and so on but I don't even know anymore.

If he were deliberately trolling it would be brilliant. Sucks that he isn't.

On the other hand, if we can somehow get the US, Russia and China to go to war on social media rather than nuclear Armageddon, that would be pretty good.

It is interesting to see how the diplomats and statesmen will deal with him. It appears that his only two priorities are image and personal gain. All in all, a person you can trivially take advantage of.

The good thing about this is that China are probably just pissing themselves laughing at how ridiculous the whole thing is as opposed to actually being incensed by it.

Just occurred to me, reality is now even more absurd than one depicted in the HBO show Veep. And they tried really well to make a mockery of the US political system. Turns out their president actually appears credible choice, compared to the orange1

Isn't he just tweeting stuff he's been saying about China for the last 18 months?

Mostly, yeah...but it's different from him saying it is an outsider joke candidate and as the actual President-elect.

Well with any pol it's always watch what they do, rather than what they say. I'm on wait and see with his China policy although he's off to a shit start.

Paz is sitting alone in a room, drinking whiskey and admiring Trump's forthright views on China as the tweets offer an insight of power and presidential aura to the common man. Power to the people.

Yeap, said it before that they have a tough act to follow now. Nothing they show will seem unrealistic or exaggeration of the current political scene.
