Is that really Trump tweeting .Or as he hired a troll to do it for him.
Nope that's him alright, attempting to reach out and communicate with the common man with some basic language and what he genuinely believes in rather than some long winded academic pre-prepared patronising bullshit that people just don't care about anymore (also see Narendra Modi and how he used Twitter and other channels to do the same with Indians)...

 oh dear...

What is the job in hand exactly?

Trump had no actual goals except "winning" for himself and himself alone. He was saying whatever bullshit some stupid white shit wanted to hear. He has zero goals beyond enriching himself and a group of acquaintances (not friends because this type of person has zero real friends).

The whole thing was a scam and there were enough desperate people that bought it. That's all.
Just adding insult to injury:

I need to go to the next Caf London meet up - will be a right laugh! :D

It always frustrates me the labels given to many political parties or ideals, especially by people from the States, everything liberal or left is considered as socialist or communist by them. It's quite infuriating especially because often the people slating things like universal healthcare or social welfare are the people who need it the most, or who will need it later in life. Obviously the rich shouldn't ever need it, but working class families in the USA have been brought up to look at these things as scrounging, rather than what the rest of the world consider to be necessity as part of a decent, normal civilised society. I also find it strange that they are ok with things like the Police force, fire fighters and people in the armed forces that are completely funded by the Government and of course that is what people call socialist. I also find it staggering that healthcare can cost so much money in the USA (although I understand why) and yet so many people are not only happy to pay it, but argue against not having to, just because of some false perception or some moronic fear of someone else getting something for nothing.

The political spectrum in the US is certainly shifted more to the right than Europe. I said it before an i'll say it again, the Cold War really fecked them up and skewed their perception of socialism. It's actually fascinating to see media like Fox News throw "socialist" around like it's some damning insult.

If i'm not mistaken, the HMO in their current form were born under Regan, and has only gotten worse since. The ironic this is that they actually use as much money (if not more) per capita than countries with "socialized medicine"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_..._capita#/media/File:Health_care_cost_rise.svg

All it really is, is a huge money sink where some people get stupidly rich by fecking over citizens

Beginning of the plot of Idiocracy right there...

Or smart communicator. Anyone remember any of HRC's tweets?

Politicians all over the world want to reach the holy grail. Modi smashed it out of the park in 2014 general elections - was article after article about it...

Yeah I remember a few of hers. But yeah you're right Trump is more memorable largely because he is a clown. The outrageous is more interesting than the day to day, it's why the likelihood is Trump's twitter antics will come back at some point and bite him in the arse.

While I get the Modi comparison you keep touting, there is a large difference between the two. Modi's social media is largely driven by patriotism and his family. As the WSJ article points out he is also gracious in defeat. That's something that Trump doesn't have, his notable tweets are about people saying bad things to him. He keeps coming across as a big man-baby.

That's fair

Her tweeted videos were the best social media of the campaigns, hands down.

And i thought he was reaching out to racist, conspiracy nutjobs ,fact deniers.

If you were describing George W tweets I'd likely agree with you. He connected by being a simple person. Trump isn't doing that. He just attacks everyone once there is a hint of disagreement. Oh and he lies constantly when he uses his common man language. Your post is an insult to all good common men (and women).

As for judging after 4 years. No way. I've judged him as a person already. He is a vile person willing to do anything to feed his ego. As a president, I'll judge him every time he acts. To not do so would be foolish. After all, there is an election in 2 years which could take away some of his power. His picks to date are not good for my taste so he's off to a bad start.

Amazing insight you have into his mind and motivations!

In all seriousness, let me get this straight...you think he wants to further his empire (already worth billions), and think he thought the best way he could do this was to become US President, for this reason alone...and will enact furthering his business with no care in the world about the people, nation or words or anything else for that matter?!

I mean...he's already doing it. He's making calls to nations related to his deals ahead of the interests of the country. That's not really a point of agreement/disagreement...it's quite literally what's happening.

The SNL tweets are obviously kind of funny in how ridiculous the whole thing is, but they demonstrate that this is a guy so thin-skinned he can quite genuinely be goaded into conflicts on Twitter. It's funny when it's a parody of him, but if he starts falling out with actual statesmen then it's surely a point of worry.

Has anyone seen the "Carbon Dioxide is Life" TV add bought by the institute of Myron Ebell, Trump's environment guy?

I was sick to my stomach. That looked like parody the whole way. But it's not. Incredible.

You can watch it here if you have facebook. About 50 seconds in the video that says "Zen moment": https://www.facebook.com/Francisco-Louçã-150887489198/

That is outrageous, surely that wasn't a real ad?

You think him talking about a TV show he holds a grudge against on twitter is a laudable act? Really?

I take it all back @langster. He's not putting on a character to gain the support of a fickle base, he's actually a complete and utter fecking moron on every level.

*facepalm*

Donald Trump 'authored' a novel (and naturally it's about non-consensual sex and workplace racism):

The first review listed on Amazon.

--This is poorly written and just tedious. Not sexy, not even soft porn. The kindle sample was full seven chapters long, more than enough to see what it's like. Reads like one of those semi-literate "Penthouse Forum" letters. If I were Mr Trump, I'd sue the guy for using my name, and business, in an attempt to get readers interested. But apparently he was okay with it, even sold it in his hotel giftshops. If you like plodding, wooden dialogue interspersed with random profanity and descriptions of women's bodies, go for it. Otherwise, look elsewhere.--

Why shouldn't it be? The only thing I don't know is if it was released (and where/when) and how long ago it was made. You can see the Competitive Enterprise Institute mark in the end. Now if you wade a bit through their think-thank website you'll find nothing but outrageous stuff. In fact, the whole concept of climate change denial is outrageous.

Look what I found in their "Agenda For Congress" section, supposedly in an innaccessible area of the site, but which can bee gotten to through the search engine, and posted just 3 days ago:

Free to Prosper: Energy and Environment
As food is energy for human life, so energy is the lifeblood of the economy. And like food, energy benefits more people when it is plentiful, reliable, and affordable. It literally puts superhuman power at our beck and call. Thanks to affordable energy, the average person today lives longer and healthier, travels farther and faster in greater comfort and safety, and has greater access to information than the privileged elites of former times.

Carbon fuels—coal, oil, and natural gas—provide 82 percent of both U.S. and global energy, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. They are the world’s dominant energy sources because, in most markets, they beat the alternatives in both cost and performance.

Critics claim carbon fuels have hidden costs that make them unsustainable. In the 1970s and 1980s, experts often depicted carbon fuels as both intractably polluting and rapidly depleting. Technological advances—spurred by sensible regulation and the market-driven imperative to minimize waste and improve efficiency—put the lie to those gloomy prophesies, as energy supplies increased while the air and water got much cleaner.

Today, critics claim unchecked carbon energy use will cause catastrophic climate change. However, the climate models producing scary impact assessments increasingly diverge from reality. More important, the climate change mitigation policies those critics advocate pose serious risks to American prosperity, competitiveness, and living standards.

The wealth creation and technological progress made possible by affordable carbon-based energy make societies more resilient, as they protect people from extreme weather, improve health, and increase life expectancy. Since the 1920s, global deaths and death rates from extreme weather have decreased by 93 percent and 98 percent, respectively.

If it's fake it is some elaborate form of libel, but I tell you the guy who presented that "moment of Zen" in the Portuguese TV is neither dishonest nor an idiot, and is very well informed in these things.

:lol::lol:

Getting this butthurt over some harmless satire says a lot about his character really. If he is going to throw his toys out of the pram and moan on twitter every time someone makes a joke about him, i guess he won't get time for much else.

Its sad, but also part of his reality show entertainment factor. People just want to log on and tune in to see what daft comment he says next.
