I wonder what his end game is with these tax cuts. Does he actually believe that slashing taxes from the super rich are going to create more prosperity for the average Joe, does he know it won't or does he simply not understand what is going on?

Chances are with Trump, he wants estate taxes removed and top tax brackets reduced -- maybe throw in some real estate pork. Anything else he doesnt give a hoot.

"I am resigning due to ill hair."

I fecking knew Wikileaks were bent.

Assange can fecking rot in his little box room in the embassy until he dies.

I think the vast majority do too. Of course we had @Buchan in here trying to mock everyone and slap them down when he was defending Wikileaks tooth and nail the other day. Somehow that makes this recent news just that little bit sweeter, although totally unsurprising.

I know the feeling

The current tax proposal includes a tax cut for golf course owners. Go figure.

He might as well have put in a tax cut for porcine blonde orange men with ridiculously long ties and small hands.

We all can't wait until they're really gone

Mate, you really need to get a new hobby. I've always maintained that how the emails were leaked is of no interest to me; the content of the emails is what concerned me and that continues to be the case. Getting worked up over DNC figures leaking emails/DNC getting hacked but not being overly concerned about the corrupt and unethical behaviour the emails uncovered is a strange position to adopt, but each to their own, of course.

I'm pissed about the DNC rigging the primary, and have been since it became obvious very early on in the race that it was happening. In comparison to members of the Trump campaign colluding with Russia to rig the actual general election though, its a fart in a hurricane. What is interesting though is the way you, a self-described liberal, don't seem to give a rats ass about anything Trump or the Russians do or did, and continue to beat the drum about how terrible the Democrats are.

Yes, this is why people should take it seriously and try and make people aware. Try to get them to think critically, for themselves, etc...

It's annoying how easily people can be led, but it is what it is. Let's accept it and try to counter it rather than do nothing, or mislead ourselves into believing it's not an issue and it's not that influential.

Social media has diminished most people's ability to do critical thinking. It's like this:

If you have a manager or superior who's a micro-manager, the strategy to that is to bombard them with all the information they need. Forward all emails, send every correspondence, everything you do, you email...Flood their inbox with email. They'd like it at first but eventually they'd start NOT reading every single one. It's like the law of diminishing returns. When these bots flood Facebook and Twitter with their messages and news, people like me and you would eventually find it hard to sift through the bullshit to get to the real stuff. It may sound like a fruitless strategy but it's all a numbers game. If the critical thinkers are being sifted out, it then leaves the ones who are easily influenced.

This is also 100% me. I hate looking at the replies on Trump tweets now.

Erm you actually think he cares about anyone else except him and his cnutish rich friends? Of course he is doing this so people like him get to pay less taxes. End of story.

Trickle down economics is Republican tax policy 101, in spite of the fact that it has been shown very clearly not to work.

They don't give a feck. They just want lower taxes for their fact cat mates/donors and to hell with the lower income families who get screwed over to pay for it, they're too poor to be able to buy relevance to the GOP.

I do care when Trump and his administration make morally-bankrupt statements and decisions. Who wouldn't be? The problem, for me, lies with double standards and blatant hypocrisy from our side when Trump is criticised for things liberals themselves say/do (e.g. Obama is on record saying he's against illegal immigration but when Trump says it, he's a Nazi racist), or when Trump's actions/statements are exaggerated and blown out of proportion. The only person who triumphs in those situations is Trump himself.

But yet you're almost never around to criticise him for it. Go through your posts in the Russia investigation thread and they're almost exclusively complaining about liberals or deflecting the issue onto Clinton. Go into the Clinton thread and you're exclusively highlighting Clinton's transgressions while offering her/Democrats none of the same leeway you otherwise give to Trump. It gets a bit tiresome and is painfully obvious.

Many people online, on discussion boards, on social media etc. often don't contribute to discussions when they concur with the general theme/direction of the conversation at hand. It's hardly a new, nor outlier, phenomenon.

Are you really comparing that statement to "they're not sending their best, they're sending drug dealers and rapists"? Not to mention Trump ending things like DACA.

So there's been no drug-dealing nor rapist illegal immigrants into the U.S? At all?

Trump's comments are inflammatory, yes, but the core principle is the same as Obama's in that linked video above: anti-illegal immigration.

It's not the same principle.

Did you pay even a minute of attention to the 2016 presidential election? Because the only way your posts here make sense is if you came out of a coma last month.

Jesus fecking wept.

Very few people claim to be impartial while exclusively criticising one side and completely ignores the ills of the other. Especially bizarre considering Clinton herself isn't in power and is mostly an irrelevance now...while Trump's the one actively making decisions.

And anyway, this idea that you're some brave warrior fighting against the common current isn't really all that true. Plenty of left-wing/liberal posters have been critical of Clinton, notably during the Primaries when they pointed out she was a poor candidate. There's a dedicated thread right now with over 1,000 posts discussing why she was the wrong choice of candidate, including from people who actively supported her. There is plenty of discussion going on as to what's wrong with the Democrats etc...but for some reason you seem uncomfortable with the constant criticism of a shit President in a thread dedicated to that President's shit Presidency. Which is strange to say the least.
