The Trump Presidency | Biden Inaugurated

Fecks sake, the news just keeps on coming.

Can anyone tell me how many lawsuits Trump is fighting now? And how many did Obama face during his time as President?

"Nobody has more lawsuits than me!"

Ouch! More attacks from inside the GOP. His popularity must be getting dangerously close to the magic 30% everyone keeps talking about, and it does seem to be coinciding with many Republicans coming out against him and his lack of achievements and help with things like Obamacare repeal and replace. He also apparently had a really unpleasant hour long phone conversation with Mitch McConnell yesterday. Things like that wont be helping at all.

The bowels of congress are filled with bodies of people who took on Mitch McConnell by underestimating him. This is a fight the Twitler might be wise to sit out. He is not Jeff Sessions to keep quiet, forget everything and bend over.

I'm thinking an FBI raid on Manafort's home six months after the investigation is publicly announced is a bit late, no? Surely any incriminating evidence is long gone/destroyed.

Depends on what they deem incriminating. Maybe they were just looking for circumstantial thing to confirm/negate already gathered material. There are also thing that need to be stored by individuals for example if he owned a corperation etc.

Article I read suggested it could have been an intimidation tactic.

I can't see a Federal judge giving them a warrant 'just for intimidation' purposes.

Not a chance in hell would they do that, certainly not for something as delicate and serious as this, and something connected to so many powerful people. You can bet your house that the Feds would have had to have had all their ducks in a row and had undeniable evidence or suspicion of serious crimes for them to get a warrant for Manafort. Not even a liberal judge would want the search to show up empty or even worse, to be deemed as a waste of time or as Trump likes saying, a witch hunt. Nope, as you rightly said, no way was it just for intimidation purposes. I think that's a rumour spread by right wingers who are petrified and looking for any excuse and distraction they can find. CNN AND Fox have both been reporting that Trump is fuming about the raid and has been for weeks. The White House is not a happy place to be (or his golf course or wherever he is today)

Not what I meant. The judge obviously gives a warrant because they have a solid case. It's possible they knew the chances of them finding anything incriminating or anything they couldn't just subpoena at his home were slim/non existent but still went ahead because of the message it sends.

Manafort and everyone connected with the campaign now know, in no uncertain terms, that the case is strong enough for a federal judge to grant a search warrant.

The pre-dawn raid aspect reminds me of Brazil's Car Wash investigation, which counted on many of those surprise raids (although most often arrests + search). Indeed after a few of those the potential targets wised up and started to destroy documents and evidence (but were occasionally wire tapped discussing it, so not good for them either). But the Feds would still find some documents lying around it seems, plus hard drives, etc.

Who said it: Trump or Liam Gallagher?

"To all you Noel fanboys I can and will sing any song he wrote bigger better than him even if I was kicked in the bollox by a wood pigeon."

Newcastle fans once again embarrassing themselves

I'm sick and tired of this cnut turning up on the BBC..

First thing in the morning, commuting to work, and the Today program is giving airtime to this Nazi and faux military analyst. WTF
This is the thing - media in the US and across the world continue to bitch about these guys...call into question their credibility, but then - they continue to give them a pulpit to preach from.

Knowing all the while - there is no discrediting these people - all the exposure does is normalize them and their 'talking points'.

Reza had a show on CNN and was sacked because of some of his tweeting about Trump. He's generally a smug guy who wears thin after a few encounters.

I've emailed them. A token gesture but got to get it off my chest. A cursory trawl through this guys past is all you need to know he's full of shit. He's also a such a condescending and arrogant interviewee I'm amazed the BBC keep going back to him. They should say no thanks every time Gorka gets put forward to comment - if DRumpf and his cronies have a message they want to get across they'll soon find someone else.

Brilliant responses to an absolute hatchet job of an interview. I'll look up his book, I do enjoy the histrocity of religion.

He's not being entirely honest about his credentials in that interview.
