The Trump Presidency | Biden Inaugurated

 He does clearly have a point there BUT he also said it would be simple and he would do it on his first day. He also gave no help to the Republicans, nor did he give them any ideas, if anything he hamstrung them with his liberal demands on healthcare when he said things like he would keep the best bits of Obamacare etc. It's also incredibly destructive for him to yet again attack his own party. The man is on a crusade to make the entire world burn. I've said it before, for someone who demands loyalty above everything, he doesn't ever reciprocate the same to anyone else.

The rampaging hypocrite at it again just 24 hours after threatening nukes

I don't even mind the golf tbh. Never did when Obama did so but the outcry the right wing gave him compared to the defence of Trump is laughable. Ultimately the magnitude of the job needs some downtime but everything around the President is instantaneous so they can work while away. Whether Trump does is doubtful.

What it shows is the partisanship of their politics in particular. I think it's no good for anyone to treat politics like supporting a sports team.

If you can't handle the pressure of being the President then he shouldn't be the President. What would happen in time of war? Leaders can't have downtime, that's part of the job description.

Does anyone who understands how Twitter works know if everyone sees the same replies to any one tweet? Because every single Trump tweet seems to be met with a bunch of replies ripping the almighty piss out of him. Does he see those replies? Or do the algorithms create an echo chamber where he sees a different bunch of replies to the rest of us?
You see replies from those you follow and the most popular replies first I think. If you're looking at the tweet not your mentions

How influential is McConnell in the Republican Party outside his caucus?

He's probably the most influential person in the GOP other than Trump at the moment. If both of them fall out it will have a massive impact on Trump's agenda.

That's what I thought, I just wanted to hear confirmation of it

He shouldn't be President for many reasons not to do with golf. And to be honest every President has some form of downtime - however little - the job is spontaneous though so they should be prepared for anything. Is Trump? I doubt it but Obama, Bush, Reagan, Johnson spent time away from the White House but I don't doubt their commitment. Yes even Bush who was a disastrous President.

My point is not defending Trump, if anything it's criticism by pointing out his hypocrisy with Obama all that time.

The partisanship is on a different scale to what we have in the UK. In America it's 'us vs them' to the extreme. They work towards an echo chamber. Rampant partisanship led by tea party right wingers meant Obama could not join the pantheon of great Presidents. Trump will never 'make America great again' by only serving his base [he will never do it period to be frank]. However the liberals can't serve the nation the best they can by ignoring the rural 'lost' folk. The condescending nose-up attitude they show is why conservative candidates retain those votes.

A further complication is that Trump employs McConnell's wife (Elaine Chao) as the Secretary of Transportation. Should be a tasty next few months.

Trumps tweet asking why Sessions hadn't fired the acting FBI director back in July was on the very same day that the FBI raided Manafort. So about those obstruction accusations..

It was also the same day he Tweeted about transgenders in the military too. He's a despicable shit. Found out yet again too, he must be gutted.

Humphrey is a former GOP senator

Stick that in the North Korea thread too, mate. I can't believe people are siding with Trump on this, it's insane. He's been called out, it was so obvious North Korea were going to laugh at his threats. It's a symptom of his whole presidency, what makes it even more of a joke is there isn't even anyone NOMINATED to fill the South East Asian diplomacy seat. As many people have said not only is Trump mentally unfit, but also he's way too inexperienced and that everyone's worst fears were a serious diplomatic incident breaking out. This is that and it's here now, and so far he's acted as expected.

"Donald Trump is the best orator in generations". Pretty amazing interview overall but that line probably takes it. They go from saying how ridiculous it is that democrats don't pay attention to the poll on the new immigration legislation proposal, relying on emotion and citing the Statue of Liberty all the time, to talking about how stupid polls are because they don't trust Trump...within seconds. They must think their viewers are a bunch of colossal fecktards.

Shouldn't surprise us as Trump and Tillerson are intentionally neglecting the state department.

There are 131 key positions at the state department (that need to be senate confirmed) and they've not even nominated anyone for 86 of those roles.

The statue with the poem the Chris Cuomo was mocked for quoting when attacking Trump's new immigration policy ideas? Feck me, they are so hypocritical it's unbelievable.

Yup, it's a disgrace, and yet again, many experts and former White House staff are petrified that serious overseas diplomatic incidents will leave the US hideously exposed or even worse, distracted. It's such a dangerous position for the USA to be in right now. Thanks for the article though, gave me a lot of info I wasn't aware of.
