Reminded me a bit of this meme...

Actually, the Clinton campign published an entire book full of what they were promising the American people.

I took the time to read it. Did you?

really? you read 112,000 words of focus tested policy details from a candidate you already planned to vote for? there must be dozens of you! dozens!

https://www.hillaryclinton.com/brie...outlining-their-vision-and-plans-for-america/

https://mobile.nytimes.com/2016/09/15/us/politics/clinton-book-stronger-together.html

if it is full of "launch initiative" and "address crisis" it's not hard to see why it was such a flop.

when trump campaigned on the ground he talked about bringing jobs back and stuff like that. when hillary campaigned she talked about how awful he was. or in the case of wisconsin, she didn't bother to campaign at all. if the book sales in that article are any indication, it's not hard to see that a massive treatise on policy minutiae is worthless to the average voter. she could have just said "hey y'all (in her perfect southern accent she learned growing up in chicago), you know how your grandparents and parents have medicare and it's great? well now everyone has it". it doesn't take a genius to see how that would go over better than "here's a link to my website where it talks about how we can increase competition for generic prescription drugs and let market drive the price down"

those posts are dumb as hell. you posted the shortest comment you could find from trump and quoted hillarys entire platform from her website. not even worth responding to further.

Fair play @senorgregster , over to you @Eboue . Remember that Trump is from the party that tried to hide its healthcare bill in a random room in the House so that noone could actually read it before voting on it. And actually obfuscated when one or two got close and actually located that random room. Good luck.

1) Yes. I read it. I believe in knowing what I'm voting for.

2) And there appear to be about 200,000 of you in the Rust Belt

You seem to think she had no policy. She did per those posts. Nobody cared. Trump had no policy they didn't change daily as far as I can tell hence the short comments. If he has policy that is better than those I posted for Clinton show me.

how about you just post from his platform like you posted from her platform. you don't need to be wikipedia brown to find it.

liberals: people should read a 200 page book before voting
also liberals: the only reason we lose is because of gerrymandering
We have the opportunity to vote for the leader of the most powerful country on the planet every 4 years.

Forgive me for believing that people should educate themselves about that decision. Especially people who live in states where they have a chance for their vote to actually change the direction of Electoral College votes.

But do go on...

You said she had no campaign promises. She literally had a book of them.

Good job.

you don't get that having a book full of stuff isn't the same as standing in front of people and telling them "i will do this and your lives will be better". i kind of understand why you see it this way because we are told our whole lives in the importance of reasoned discourse and educated voters and then it turns out people don't really care about that and it ends with a dementia addled bully in the white house. i get that.

but how has the democratic party still not learned its lesson?

Do you get that I'm not talking about the on stage tactics of the campaign, but rather your assertion that Democrats "promised them feck all"?

ok cool they should do that. i'm all for it. but they don't. for lots of reasons, they don't. democrats need to accept that. stop with means tested programs that obfuscate the actual good that they are attending to do. stop with byzantine policy proposals. stop going high. stop reaching across the aisle to chase the elusive moderate republican that hasn't existed in decades. stop insisting that construction workers read hundreds of pages of stuff that doesn't affect them before deciding who to vote for.

people hate republican policies. they like democratic policids. but they won't vote for spineless corporatist democrats who wrap up every good idea they have in layers upon layers of bureaucracy and paperwork.

just keep it simple. here are our plans, they will make your lives better, we will fight for you, vote for us.

I skipped to random parts of this speech and gasp I heard her policy. Weird!!!

i expect senorgrgster to compare like for like. compare trumps platform to hillarys. compare trumps speeches to hillarys.

he compared trumps speeches to hillarys platform, obviously there would be a difference in details
What Trump had on his website was as devoid of detail as his speeches were.

How is the point not clear? His words are worthless.

and yet he won. the point of politics isn't high minded discourse and two hundred page books. it's to fecking win and implement your policies. and the democrats lost to the worst candidate ever because they thought it was a debate class.

and they are going to lose again because they haven't learned their lesson.

Do you not see the problem here when your policies are effectively everything all at the same time and also nothing at the same time?

you still see "but her emails" and "russian hacking" in order to absolve hillary and podesta and the dnc of any blame for losing. and you see in the refusal to run on single payer and the support for obnoxious centrists who don't even live in the constituency they want go represent in jon ossof that says they havent learned anything from the disaster last november.

throw in the republican gerrymandering, the voter suppression, the flood of dark money and the fact that only one republican senator is up for reelection next year and you can see why it's not getting any better.
