The RedCafe Boxing Thread

Can't remember the exact round. All I remember is aj taking a shot, him looking hurt, stumbling back onto the ropes where he tried to start throwing a few counters then the ref for some reason broke it up
Really, you can’t recall the round? Well I don’t recall seeing any moment where Joshua took a shot, but I have it recorded so i’ll Watch it again. Unless you’re talking about that moment when Parker came bowling forward with his head down just charging after AJ and AJ Just kept moving out of the way till the two crashed to the ropes? I mean no decent punched landed in that bit at all so probably not.

Behind? You've moved the goalposts from some weird view that Fury had a masterplan to avoid fights to him being unlikable. How nice a fella he is or isn't doesn't really matter to me.

You feel free to tell me the actual point you are making here. Clearly and concisely then I will be happy to either agree or debate you on it.

Basically this is you saying "Tyson Fury is a prick. I hate him" and me saying "okay".
Eh? You decided to bring my view of his likeability into question, not I. RAB has already outlined that for you. Are you drunk? You're all over the place

I think it’s unfair to give the ref a hard time. The ref had over 90 world title fights I think and he had no option to step in because Parker kept coming inside with his head down, which ain’t allowed and gave AJ little chance to punch. (You can’t blame Parker because that upper cut of AJ is one lethal weapon, a thing of beauty.)

I still don't get why Fury is so highly rated. Is it because he managed a points decision against a shit-on-the-night Klitschko? I thought it would take more than that to be talked about as if he was Jesus. The man is a joke, in and out of the ring. Only out of the ring he's a grade A dickhead on top.

Lets see who Joshua will fight next.............

It wont be Wilder.

It really is.

I kinda see it the same way as you, Parker was charging in head down. Which weirdly just made it sort of easy for AJ to tie him up then get the fight back to range. Ref probably should have had a word and there were occasions he could have certainly let it go, he was by no means great but Parker didn’t really leave him that much choice.

Again. No point made.

I'll offer my point very clearly. The reason for Tyson Fury's meltdown was that he is a young bloke with some degree of mental illness who grew up in a very poor background. He happened to get a few quid and a bit of fame. That simple.

I do not believe there was some great conspiracy where he is secretly really smart and finding a way to avoid fights.

The simplest answer is often the right one. Even if the person you're talking about hates orphans and puppies.

Yeah it did somewhat ruin the spectacle and it made Joshua's job that much easier.

Well that we can definitely agree on. He was definitely trying to micromanage the fight. If such term can even be used about refereeing a boxing match. Anyway, I don't know how else to put it but I'm sure you understand.

Parker, though, was just happy not getting caught. He resorted to just throwing that double jab of his, and some body shots which didn't bother Joshua at all which was really disappointing.

Aye because it certainly looks like Wilder is all mouth and doesn’t want the fight. Probably happy just to keep his title and fight no names and old folk and have a steady cheque coming in filling the first few rows.

Why wouldn't he fight again ? Is he that well off where he would retire now ?

I would suspect because he knows that he was lucky Vlad didn't show up that night else he'd have lost, and this way he gets to cling to some fallacy of legend given that legions of people talk about him like he's the second coming based on a points decision, rather than show up after ballooning out of shape and taking too much time out, losing and undoing everything he's got going for him.

You want cnut? Here you are:

Wilder To Be Investigated By WBC For 'Wanting a Body' Comment

“I want a body on my record, I want one,” Wilder said to the show.

“That’s the Bronze Bomber, he want [a body]. I always tell people, when I’m in the ring, like I am the Bronze Bomber. With him, it’s so crazy, when I’m in the Bronze Bomber, I don’t really care. Everything about me changes. I don’t get nervous, I don’t get scared, I don’t get butterflies, I don’t have no feeling towards the man I’m fit to fight.

Unbelievable.

That's fecking vile.

Parker? Ortiz for me is a better fighter than Parker.
Parker is average as a heavyweight.

When Wilder connects you go........................

Parker is about twice as fast as Ortiz is now. Ortiz in his amateur days was much quicker, but now he’s a shadow of his former self. Parker is a great & skillful boxer who ultimately lacked the size to beat AJ. AJ is a skillful boxer himself and I think Parker’s skill would be far more effective against Wilder because Wilder doesn’t have the skills AJ does.

That uppercut sure was a pretty picture hitting air all night, only time he connected it was on the break lol

I've made my point clearly and concisely several times now. It was the reason why you quoted me to begin with, each time you've derailed the conversation and unexplainably blamed me for doing so. It's like you suffer from long term memory loss. Here's what you do: you use the search function to find my posts in this thread, find the threads before you starting defending Tyson Furys honour and go from there. I'm going to bed.

He's a gypsy how do you know he was poor? It's their way of life to not use banks so how do you know he went without?

Regardless, him being poor or mentally ill doesn't excuse him for being a cnut.

wont depend on that at all, ask Eddie.

I assume you mean when he said that "the fights are the most important thing". Maybe but that would be silly to me, go to all this effort collecting all the belts so you can promote a fight for the undisputed title then give one up beforehand.

heard this shite before

was going to fight Povetkin in Europe until Povetkin failed a drug test.
Ortiz.... same shite, Wilder wont fight Ortiz.

He was a pretty good fighter before he fought Klitschko though. I agree that Vlad was a bit off that night, but it also had a fair bit to do with Fury's strategy. Plus Vlad was pretty old by that point.

I think Fury would fare very well against all the big fighters of the moment, if of course he returned to his Klitschko form.

What’s that got to do with him not wanting to fight AJ. If he did he would have been there tonight.

I am pretty confident that I remember hearing about it in the build up to a fight.

No, being a cnut is bad. Agreed.

Whats this, he wants to kill someone in the ring? If so hes a fecking moron and hope he gets banned for life.

I think thats what he's saying. I mean wanting a body isn't really open to interpretation for me. Unless its some sort of slang??
