The Media and their treatment of Raheem Sterling | Agrees new 5 year deal

Nice to agree with you for a change, apart from the last part sadly.

:D We can all agree... sometimes. I think it will be a massive test of Southgates character, the fans are behind him because he has shown balls in his team selection and formation. I think the majority of fans would back Rashford against Belgium if Sterling doesn’t show up against Panama. I’d slot Rashford in behind Kane and get him running through with his pace.

It's interesting that he has a gun on his leg but he's fecking terrible at shooting.

Could be a lethal partnership with Rashford and Kane, has everything. That space Rashford would make would be tasty, and as we know Kane can score from distance ;)

I’ve never had much of an opinion on him either way or paid attention to the tabloid stories around him, but I’ve struggled to care about the majority of this national side and he’s instantly put himself up there as an England player I can get behind with that piece.

It's an improvement on the usual headings.

Raheem Sterling ENJOYS an ice cream with STUNNING fiance.... Etc

She's not stunning.

She is fine.

Such a headline leads to many, many vital questions?

What flavour was the ice cream? Was it chocolate, vanilla, strawberry? Was it a Flake 99, and if so was he extravagant and had it with chocolate/strawberry sauce, with sprinkles?!?! Does the Mail tells us the cost of the ice cream? Does the Mail provide 20+ pictures of the ice-cream? Was the ice-cream itself devastated about England's World Cup heartbreak? Has Twitter gone into meltdown because of a man eating his ice-cream whilst enjoying his holidays? Did the fiancee have an ice-cream, and if so did Sterling pay for it? Or was he a cheapskate and let her pay for it herself? Does Pep approve of this ice-cream eating activity? How much is the Sterling's hat? How much does Sterling's house cost? Why is he in Venice when there is a heatwave in England? Does he prefer Venice to England? Does Sterling hate England?

Raheem showed off his hunky physique in a fitted black t-shirt paired with white shorts and £185 Prada sliders.

Adding a further stylish edge to his holiday ensemble he donned a £105 blue and yellow Icon baseball cap.

He accessorised with sparkling silver chains and a black shoulder bag.

His beautiful partner teased at her toned abs in a pinstripe shirt knotted at her slender waist.

Showcasing her toned legs, she teamed the outfit with a pair of denim cut-offs and cream sandals.

Her brunette tresses were styled into a half-updo while her pretty features were enhanced with a light dusting of make-up.

Christ.

Is there really a need for that?

It's bad when Manchester United fans can spot the bias against a Manchester City player.

Surely just doing it because people spread their stories for them now?

Did Sterling get this awful treatment whilst at Liverpool or did that happen when he achieved Judas status by moving to City?

Probably written in on the advice of a SEO looking to up the hits, then taken out now that it's done its job.

He also said he was too tired to play in an England match, qualifier if memory serves. I think that's where it started from, people tend to forget that incident. Then the Liverpool drama happened after it

That match report in the Guardian article is almost unbelievable - no wonder they changed it.

Damn he's 23 and almost has 50 England caps already  I wonder what he'll end on, & what sort of wages he'll be getting with this new contract.

300K apparently, reported by many reliable journalists.

Considering City top earners DeBruyne and aguero are on about 275k. Think this 300k figure is a bit inflated. Seems most articles say it could be 300k if performance bonuses are met but they will probably be rather difficult to achieve considering it would take his earnings a decent bit above City's best paid. Think his more realistic salary is probably around 250k.
