SARS CoV-2 coronavirus / Covid-19 (No tin foil hat silliness please)

I don't see Boris going to hospital unless he has breathing problems. I reckon he's in real trouble here. They haven't revealed the hospital because they know that journos will be down there doing anything to find out what's going on.

I think the gov. need to level with us all and not cover this up.

The main things will be a CT scan and possibly an arterial blood gas for which being in hospital might be needed. And that can be "precautionary". If they don't see any superadded bacterial infection and his saturations on room air are fine then he may be discharged quickly. Difficult to speculate either way really.
Rest of the bloods can be done by any phlebotomist at home with results sent to a lab.

I have read that he was a St Thomas.

What's the testing capacity like in Austria at the moment?

It's a fairly large country and quite sparsely populated. They should be fine

Potentially 14 days of no symptoms is what's fecking us up. Even 5 days is quite a long incubation period.

How tragic, follows Trump in believing it was overhyped by democrat media, goes to Madri Gras, gets infected, dies; and missus stills blames media on “both sides”.

The mind fecking boggles with this Trump cult.

I just don't have any sympathy for them.

When Trump openly mocked that handicapped journalist in 2016 and his religious supporters still set-out in their droves and voted for him, that in itself showed their true 'good Christian' colours.

F*ck them.

110,000 total so far.

I reckon if countries can have a testing capacity of about 1% of your population per week, you can can be successful at testing and contact tracing. It's a lot of work though but definitely more preferable/cheaper than another shut down.

I don't mean randomly testing but targeted testing coupled with systematically testing where large groups gather (schools, offices, production sites etc).

Agreed this name calling is not cool, hell Trump himself has had his fair share from the liberals and of coarse CNN. But agreed it must stop from all sides, people calling him the orange buffoon and all terrible really this name calling needs to stop.

He’s a fecking prick.

The hospital hosting Boris is still as yet unnamed. We just know it's an NHS hospital.

Of course. Private hospitals don't have all the specialist equipment. He'll probably be at Barts or St Thomas.

My wife got Diabetes type 1.
Today i saw a note in a swedish paper reporting that amongst the deaths in Italy, there was zero cases with type 1.
So now they have updated the riskgroups to only involve people with type 2 diabetes.

Anybody here can point me in the direction of more info around this?

You can keep yourself up to date here. This is the only properly verified source for specific details of Italian cases.

The latest report does only include Type 2 diabetes in the pre-existing conditions list so you could be right.

But but how can you use names to call someone but get pissed when he calls someone, look lets all stop the name calling and walk hand in hand we have a world crisis on our hands. Pity the Dem's let the Chinese make all there protective gear not cool.

Might not be the best time for this.

I completely agree with you. I think (guess) Germany's high ICU bed count is a major reason why our death rate is still so low. Though I'm not sure we will ever know the true rate of infection, as even the best efforts in testing are deemed insufficient. I still have this faint hope that the virus is actually far more infectious/spread than we assume and a lot of people already got through it with mild/no symptoms.

According to the data from Iceland, half of the people infected show no symptoms. And logically, these people will on average be the ones that are healthier compared to fatties, smokers, diabetes etc unless one is one of those unlucky that are genetically at risk for this disease without any other pre-existing conditions. So there are many that show no symptoms, but there are also reports that people only showing mild symptoms does not qualify for a test in some areas, due to lack of test kits etc. An indicator for this would be to compare the number of tested to the number of confirmed cases. The closer they are, the more likely the stronger symptoms you will need to have to get tested.

I would say that even though Germany has more confirmed cases that UK, UK has far more real cases. The same comparison could be made between Germany and France.

Belgium: 4th day in a row with a decrease of hospitalizations, first day that there are less people on ICU than the day before (-4). Also fewer people needing oxygen than the day before (-11). Could be a delay of reporting because of the weekend, but especially the decrease in hospitalizations (and more and more people dismissed from the hospitals) is very encouraging and a returning trend since the middle of last week. Our ICU capacity is at approx. 50% so it's good to give the whole system a bit of a breather.

Deaths are still relatively high but these relate to hospitalizations of 10-14 days ago, when the lockdown was only just installed, so to be expected.

Some very careful optimism now. https://www.vrt.be/vrtnws/nl/2020/04/06/liveblog-6-april/

Wtf?

Saying you can’t complain about Trump calling people names if you also call Trump names is more than a little stupid.

Unless someone on here is a President/Prime Minister and isn’t telling us?

Strawman?

Who in here this morning has called Trump a name and then got pissed at Trump calling someone a name?

Oh, and Trump’s a fecking wanker of the highest order by the way.
The irony got to love it. But his approval rating has increased on his handling of this outbreak love to know how the left side of things would of done better. He is not prefect that's for sure but was Obama of coarse not. Going of subject name calling is not cool don't give it if you can not handle it returned. And quite a few Americans from all walks of life don't think he is a wanker but hell its a free country you are entitled to your opinion.

We will know if he has to stay over-night 'for further tests.'

Rassmussen is the most pro Trump polling company and they have his approval rating at an all time low and his disapproval rating at an all time high:
https://www.rasmussenreports.com/pu...p_administration/trump_approval_index_history

Hi approval rating was tied to his stream of rallies which have now had to stop and coincidentally his approval rating has dropped too:

If Trump can't organise his cult gatherings between now and November it's going to hurt him massively and help Biden massively.

He who picks a random quote off the internet that in all probability was not known to said 'he' before he plucked it from the ether should be first in line to watch a programme called the news.
Not random. I looked for that one specifically. I watch the news, and in addition I read everything I come across of research on the topic. But while researchers don´t have the ability to tell with absolute certainty how it will look 12 months from now, you do. Because you have watched the news. Read the quote the again, I was made for you.

His approval rating isnt a reflection of how good he works. It's a reflection of how many percentage of the us thinks like him.

Never said he was prefect but lets look at the figures on the ground shall we, lets start with umemployment, lets add to that pulling out troops from hotspots around the world that the lefties agenda started, lets talk about moving American manufacturing all over the world while depriving people in the heartland of good honest jobs. The list goes on. Hell but the lefty media thinks all Trump supporters feck their sisters :) The Irony on calling names is lost on some.
