Sancho back in training

Antony gets dogs abuse for not being good enough to justify the stupid price we paid for him, even though he always puts in the effort on and off the field. For all his faults and the frustrations we have with him, I don't think he can ever be accused of dialling it in.

Meanwhile this pampered boychild disrespects a manager who has gone above and beyond for him, then lets down his teammates, the club and the fans because he's too much of a child to acknowledge that he messed up - and fans on here welcome him back with open arms.

We deserve everything that's happened to us over the past decade. People want success but then celebrate the very antithesis of what's needed to earn it.

Yup. 100%

I once woke up from a nap with a temperature of 106. I had Covid.

This news leaves me feeling somewhat similar.
 On the upside, you recovered.

Thing is, why on earth does anyone think Sancho can recover from three years of subpar performance in the EPL and a history of unprofessional behavior? He's stuck where he is earning a fat paycheck, which is even more negative motivation... I really don't get where any positivity comes on this guy.

Liverpool and Leicester at home, and Southampton away last season. It was a nice little run of form and then he shit the bed. I think there might have been a game under Rangnick where he looked good, but I've honestly blocked out most of that man's tenure. Oh and obviously the preseasons. That's it, I think, with him ranging from abject shit to poor in the other 50 games or so.

It's a big ask for a player to come good 3 years after a £73m move, which is why the smart money is on Sancho having another strop before he puts another 3 good competitive performances together. But we live in hope.

Only way to play it right now. The ride back to the top won't be pretty, but I'm along for the ride. Actions like this (letting press know about ETH/Sancho) will only help.

All the noise was he's out no matter what.

Wonder if he's proven hard to shift on his wages, so better to reintegrate in the pre season and try and drum up interest, than leaving him in exile.

It's another issue that the new management have put to bed, for now. I would prefer that he is sold. Sensible statement from the club though. Obviously they have to try to protect an asset considering the amount of money invested in him. No blame attached to anyone, and a line drawn in the sand. If they get a decent offer I still think he will leave. I see him leaving on loan with us paying part of his wages. He clearly has an ego that doesn't match his talent, so he will never accept sitting on the bench. From what I have seen he has a shite attitude and that will never get you anywhere at a big club. Think we should take the loss on someone like him and get rid asap.

Yes. I personally would only believe if it comes from Ornstein and think that he has now been allowed back to training because we want to get some value back. We probably got lowballed in all the offers so far and this is an attempt to not weaken our negotiation position further. He comes back, performs well in preseason, maybe we can then get the offers we are looking for.

Yeah that might well be the thinking behind it

I'm fairly certain that both ETH and the club still want him to be sold, but we we have to prepare in case no offer arrives. I highly doubt that he'll be having any regular football.

Sancho has obvious talent and came into a team that was performing well below the level we expect. Could there have been frustrations that led into ETH's reign? Yes. Add that to the attitude some young players can develop, things can definitely turn sour. He's been punished, sent away and is now coming back into a team that is looking like its finally bring built properly. Not a chance he's been allowed to train without clearing the air with the manager so I'm all for giving him another chance to show the player we signed initially.

If we get the players in that we're after and don't have a disastrous injury record like last year then he could be an integral part of a big season for the club. Clean slate and LFG.

I'll take him back when he start to performing again. Liking him again after all that he put the club and the manager thru? No chance.

I think we will still sell him this summer. This is quite possibly a negotiation tactic - teams have been trying to low ball us, so we are making it seem like we are not desperate to sell unless a reasonable offer comes in.

United has reportedly agreed the sale of Greenwood north of £20M. You can't possibly believe Sancho is an "unsellable asset"
Greenwood showed more in La Liga than Sancho has in 3 seasons, and he was also on much much lower wages. I suspect the wages are what makes Sancho difficult to sell compared to Greenwood.

Too many "Like a new signing" for next season.

Bet he is going to be sold/loaned towards the end of the window.

Rashford, Garnacho, Antony, Amad & Sancho would be an overkill under a manager who doesn't rotate much.

Kudos to Ten Hag. Was never going to be the most popular decision on here but is he can get Sancho back and firing then it'll save you a fortune.
If he gets Sancho playing with intensity and training with a good work ethic then it’ll be nothing short of a miracle. I personally doubt it’ll happen and feel he’s only going to let us down yet again.

There are some good highly talented wingers out there but we are stuck with Sancho and Antony

If only we had signed Kudus we wouldn't be in this mess.

I understand why all of this happened. Sancho is on silly salary, his poor attitude is known, he's got more excuses for not performing then money in the bank and he was shunned by his own club. The only offers that could come in were by clubs who were expecting us to carry much of the burden while they were enjoying his services. Hence United had to give the impression that keeping him was indeed an option. Thus anyone who wanted Sancho would need to, at the very least, pay a fee and take him on a permanent basis.

There's so many lessons that we need to learn out of this

a- we should make our background checks on prospective signings. Players don't succeed on talent alone
b- we should never give a kid silly salary. That should be earned at the club.
c- disciplinary issues should be dealt within the club. Its already difficult getting a decent fee from an underperforming player we shouldn't add to it by telling the whole world that he hates to train as well
d- Manchester United is a football team. Its not a nanny, not a psychiatrist's couch, not a nursing home for old players or a hospital.

Hopefully once Berrada and Ashworth had settled down we would also stop buying the manager's pets. We had too many off those and many of them ended up a disaster

He won’t play he’s not good enough so we will yet again have a fecking sulking baby around the dressing room. Bit of a disaster seeing this turd back I’ve got to say.

Unrealistic wanting 40-50m when his contract is 300+ a week nobody is paying him anything close to that we should be looking at a 25m fee to just get rid.

I think we need to sell because we need the funds for signings. So far we only able to sell Greenwood (hopefully still get it done after the mayor's comment). After that, we need to sell one or two more? Sancho, Lindelof, Maguire, McT, Case and AWB?

The priority is always to get rid of the problematic characters like Greenwood and Sancho.

United have to give the impression that keeping him/utilizing him is not completely out of the picture. Else all we'll get are loan offers with option to buy and with us paying most of his salary. It taste like shit but finally we're trying to beat Juventus in their own game.

When the ugly twists in the tale repeat themselves & Sancho and Rashford start causing issues.

I hope ETH rips into Ratcliffe and Co for the damage the two players are doing and finally, move the players on.

If ETH is on a last chance, it's only right that if those two players are sabotaging the cause (again) to get ETH out, than they too are out the door.

Ineos have to act on this, time after time player power has really hurt the clubs progress since Sir Alex left.

I doubt Sancho will play another official, non-friendly match for us again.

We are just trying to protect his value after 3G 3A in 21 games made him undesirable a buy even for Dortmund.

What a fecking baby. None of this would have happened if he spoke to the manager and sorted it out like a year back. Instead he threw a strop online, threw his pram out of his toys, and flopped in Dortmund.

I think they have to let him back. Otherwise, we get poor offers for him. Ten Hag can say “well, what happened was last season,” so he doesn't really lose face, but I hope we get rid of him pronto. He’s barely had a good game for us, and it’s been three years.

And will flop here again. I highly doubt he will change much or become a much better player.

New management but this is maybe the worst decision in the last 10 years.
Sancho is just a toxic lazy brat.
Further he has shown no talent in pl and except for a couple of matches he was bang average in Dortmund.

If it’s a tactic to sell him then it isn’t the worst decision. It’s just good business.

Wait to see how things play out before throwing the toys out completely. If he lines up against Fulham next month, then kick off.

We just extended our managers contract, guess we're on a roll.

What's the story here ? Has he apologized or something ?

Word is he's the one that approached ETH.

I'm happy that a line has been drawn under it, because the situation wasn't doing anyone any favours. Whether he acts up again would depends if lessons have been learned - there's a small part of me that thinks Sancho has matured since then, plus despite me thinking it was the correct thing to kick him out of the team, ETH would probably approach the subject differently should Sancho's training not be up to scratch again.

The whole thing got blown way out of proportion and it didn't need to be.

Can't believe this is happening. Please sell this lazy snowflake ASAP.
No one is going to give him £250k a week or whatever he’s earning. We don’t have the money to give away £5 million in wages and also pay to replace him.

If Ten Hag is happy to have him back in the squad, it means that the conversation between the two must have been pretty positive.

What should we do then? Pay him off and leave him go without a fee?

Nobody is going to pay the fee we want while he's on the wages he is.

I agree but I do think that if ETH sees a genuine change and he's still around after the transfer window he'll give him an opportunity. I don't think ETH is the type to have him in the squad and refuse to play him based on previous issues.

ETH had a right to tell the club to feck Sancho, but even last season he never fully closed the door to him. A line was crossed but not one where no recovery was possible.
