Ruben Amorim | United meet Sporting release clause

Mourinho tried that approach and wanted rid of Martial and Pogba for being lazy wankers, but fans sided with the players
I think most fans are at the stage now where they won't tolerate lazy behaviour from any player. I get the feeling that a lot of fans don't see any player as indispensable anymore which was maybe a bit different that Mourinho era.

Seen this channel posted a few times now and it’s just so unbelievably boring!
I've always wondered @Raees why it's Pythagoras in Boots? A football is a sphere and ancient Greeks hadn't discovered 3D TV yet so everything was flat to them. Also Pythagoras was a poor footballer, not even making Greece's Euro 2004 preliminary squad. Even Dimitrios Papadopoulos made that team and I don't see you asking for his tactical input.

He's good at shooting at acute angles.

You were championing ‘Lingard in Loafers’ from memory.

I get managers want their own guys, but I sincerely hope we don't become a Sporting dumping ground like we did for Ajax castaways. Enough is an enough with this crap. Make it work with the guys we have and get guys that fit your style or you're massively overrated.

We have been, but there’s no logical reason that it will be that way forever. More healthy to view this as a new era, and hope things can improve and change.
The only thing that prevents this from being a “new era” is the fact we’re stuck with ten Hag’s players.

Tbh I'd very much rather we were a dumping ground for Sporting than Ajax. We've actually had some very good luck recruiting from the Portuguese league, especially from Sporting. The Dutch league on the other hand...

Its so annoying having to pay all the money (£17m to Ten Hag being the most annoying), as this is all eating into the January and Summer budgets.
Almost a £30m hit which will affect Amorim in the future by not being able to get all the players he wants.
Can we sack another 250 people?

My understanding is that ETH isn’t just instantly paid out for the rest of his contract?

Isn’t it the case that they either, have a pre-agreed clause for dismissals, we mutually agree on a pay-out, or his salary stays as is for the remainder until he finds new employment.

I find it hard to believe he gets sacked and £17m wired straight to his account. I could well be wrong though.

I'm amazed that people cant get excited for a new start after the dreadful football we've been forced to endure for the last 1-1,5 year.
I'm more thrilled about the future today than I have been in ages.
Same 2/3 year cycle of dashed hopes, false dawns, and dreadful football rinse and repeat for 10+ years. It’s taken it toll.
I’m going to be more circumspect than previously.

Sounds promising. Hopefully "early release" means immediately and not during/after the international break.

Is Chris Wheeler reliable in any way?
He tends to be hit or miss but is more reliable than someone like Kaveh or Jamie Jackson.

I get that, but this time of excitement and speculation is one of the fun parts of football - for me at least. Allow your inner muppet hope for the future.

Neither Robson or Keane had any question marks over performances. They are both renowned for how inspirational they were and neither had whiny attitude and sulked.

Not sure why you bring them in but since you have if I rate Keane, Robson and Bruno as captains then its

Robson 9.5
Keane 9.5
Bruno 3
I brought Robson up when responding to a poster who claimed that Bruno captaining us to an 8th placed finish was worthy of stripping him of the captaincy. We finished a lot lower than 8th when Robson was captain.

I find it hilarious how shouting and gesticulating on the pitch was perceived as 'inspirational' behaviour for previous United captains, however it is now perceived as 'whiny' behaviour when it's our current captain.

Cheers. Do you know if we have any recently updated tier lists on the 'Caf at the moment? Or anything on Reddit?
The Reddit tier list tends to be quite outdated, so the Caf has its own tier list. You can find it here.

Wheeler is a reasonably good source but he's just quoting Portuguese media there.

Waiting for a better source!
Santi Aouna reported that United and Sporting agreed on a fee for Amorim and two of the Sporting coaches. He's not the most reliable journalist, but he's not bad, either.
