How is it that Brighton keep finding the right man for their club and Liverpool seem to have made a good choice... Chelsea appear to have finally got it right too. All with guys I've never heard of!

Because you dont watch other leagues?

What happens to Ruud when Amorim and his merry band of cohorts arrive?

Think youre jumping the gun with Slot, and Chelsea have had 7 managers since 2019! Maresca has made an ok start but again Id hold fire on that front. Ten hag came 3rd and won a trophy in his first season which was an enormous improvement on the rangnick season. So I feel you're making unfair comparisons

Easily the top of the top upcoming managers there is out there. Already a big name and done good with Sporting.
Offensive and balanced 343 will be exciting but maybe a couple transfers are needed in January.
He seems smart, I wonder what he'll do with Zirkzee, Rashford and Bruno

Don’t have the best feeing with this choice, although that is part rationale and partly just pure instinct. The 352 thing irks me a bit, and the fear that he has no idea how much of a step up in the size of the challenge this would be. We’ve had only two successful managers ever really, and have an unrivalled status. Dealing with the players here and the scavenging press is a lot to ask of someone so young and inexperienced. I’d have liked Xavi or Hoeness personally, or McKenna as a young option.

But then again, I think he’s different enough and this is crazy enough that it just might work!

Unless he’s offered a coaching role—which seems unlikely to me—it looks like he’ll have to leave. It’s a shame, especially considering he left a stable manager position to step in as assistant coach, and now he may end up without a job altogether.

If he comes then hope he brings balance of discipline and attacking game.

Not even close to true. He resigned as PSV manager before the end of 22-23 and was out of work for more than a year before we hired him.

He already resigned from PSV several months before we approached Ruud. We did not take him from PSV - he had no job at that time.

It really won't. Elite sports has always had a special process
Yep however we gave an international break from 10th November that’s why I think it’s the Ipswich game, however if he’s sitting in the dug out on Sunday against Chelsea that would be a nice surprise.

Probably depends on whether Ruud (and the other Dutch bloke) were brought in as first team coaches or specifically to be Ten Hag's assistants.

If it's the former, I imagine there's a reasonable chance there's no real change other than maybe who is officially the assistant manager/head coach. If it's the latter, he (and the other Dutch bloke) are probably out on their arses.

Garnacho - Bruno - - Rashford
Shaw- Ugarte - Mainoo - Dalot
- Martinez - De Ligt - Yoro
Sort of works

Shaw, Malacia, Martinez, and Yoro aren't likely to be simultaneously available given their extensive injury histories. So unless Shaw specifically is fit, we would struggle to be effective with a 3-4-3.

Playing without a keeper or with 12 players jumps out as the bigger issue!

I could see us lining up something like this (yes I'm aware the Amass shout is ridiculous but he's apparently playing a 17 year old FB at Sporting so you never know)

Onana
Yoro - De Ligt - Martinez
Mazraoui - Ugarte - Mainoo - Amass
Garnacho - Hojlund - Rashford

Too early to call Yoro injury prone someone broke his foot.

Back three of nearest to the post picks up the gloves, all 3 CB’s where Magnetic wrist bands which are activated when the first one enters the Penalty Box?

Ruud walks up to his seat, comically looks at the camera and says "What's this box doing here?" He theatrically walks over to this big red box with his arms stretched out, opens it and.....

Gaitán pops out, tada!

True, but as a collective assessment of our injury woes, he can't be counted on to be effective immediately as an 18 year old coming off a significant injury and with no league minutes under his belt.

He may not choose to play a fullback as wingbacks. I believe he mostly plays wingers there for Sporting.

Not sure if I can copy this but it's really good info if this site is reliable.

Essentially Sporting have informed the Portuguese Securities Market of the below.

*United have expressed their interest.
*Sporting have referred United to the buy out clause confirmed as 10m.
*United have said we want to pay it.
Yep, it's an official communication from Sporting itself.

It's up to Amorim and United now.
