Ruben Amorim | United meet Sporting release clause

Cool. I fully expect a meltdown in eighteen months now.

But in all seriousness, Kaveh didn't even know that Amorim was being approached a few hours before it happened so how he knows this now I have no idea.

Kaveh's job is to read the Athletic or updates from Fabrizio Romano and just add subjective nonsense to it. His is probably the easiest media job I have ever seen. None of his opinions are authentic, he doesn't seem knowledgeable and Sky never really breaks any news indicating that they don't have any sources too.

He breaks down stuff like we are all 2 and he is only adult in the room just to sound more dramatic. And not to mention he keep repeating the same thing over and over again in an interview segment when talking about “breaking news”.

True. Berrada and Asworth started July. You don't think either had any comms with INEOS prior re managers? You dont think Berrada would have said to INEOS to consider Amorim in May?

And without Berrada and Ashworth, why would INEOS start interviewing 6 weeks earlier?

All feels a bit scattergun, but i think we have the right man in the end.

They would have but wouldn't be part of it completely. Its different where you advice someone over having conversations with them everyday.

Berrada and Ashworth would have needed time to assess the game model with Wilcox and INEOS, thereafter review the current playing staff.

The reason they interviewed 6 weeks early was that they were reviewing the season anyway, so they must have decided to look at other candidates, luckily for us, they didnt jump the gun and hire a Tuchel or someone. It would have been the wrong decision because he would not have been hired by the CEO and DoF. Then you have internal politics if things dont go well... "I told you so" and what not.

They never really used the glory holes, either.
the worst part are the tour guides nowadays, “and if you look closely here, you will still see some of the bullet holes in this remaining piece of wall.” they’re man-made holes for your knob, mate.

He turfed out a load of shite when he took over Sporting including some of their regular starters at the time, promoted B-team/youth players.
Good to hear. I think we've cleared out a lot of the players who could ruin a dressing room, but there's at least still one who could do with a reality check.

He really doesn't seem like the loyal type, does he? Between this sudden early season exit if it goes through, and fecking off from Braga to you guys after 13 games, I get the impression that he'd be through the door quicker than we could say bye to him if he did well here and Madrid/Barca came knocking.

Would be a nice problem to have, of course.

Real Madrid/Barca fear in a manager’s thread is new ground. That’s usually reserved for player threads

Agree. Glad everyone was in place to make the decission.

Im certain we have the right man in Amorim. Tuchel doesn't have the charisma to turn things around.

No fear at all. If those clubs are sniffing around, it probably means he's won a league or CL for us and I'm taking that all day.

Nice problem to have, as I said. Just pointing out that he seems to bolt when there's a chance to move on up.

Very excited about this and looks a done deal.

Would make perfect sense that he comes in during the next international break and would allow Sporting to get themselves sorted, especially if they are losing key coaching staff.

I feel Ruud will have the next few games.

If that's the case, then let Sporting have him for another 3 games. It's good to maintain a healthy relationship with them especially when we are taking their manager not even half through the season, and we may even buy a player or two from them in the future. He can come in during the international break and i will just enjoy Ruud being temporary manager for now

This sounds great - maybe we can go full "Rocky" and have training sessions in Meat fridges - punching beef carcasses and then trying to catch chickens in farmyards / lifting logs in Russian tundra etc.

Bruno will get knocked on the ground by the chicken and then will sit there - legs out straight - waving an imaginary card toward Mickey.

Or you can pay the £4m extra they are asking and have him for Sunday or latest for mid next week.

Honestly same was said ahead of Rangnick appointment, then before Erik Ten Hag came & now also. Eventually every absolute top manager expects high work ethic from it's players - it's nothing new and imo you can't succeed without it. Look back how Mbappe, Neymar & Messi did together, at multiple times where reported how badly PSG defensive setup was because they didn't put in effort.

All this talk about it taking longer to get him in. I'm more upset about another international break...

Honestly it’s an easy decision. Keep the 4m and wait a few weeks.
I mean sure. The only thing is sooner he takes over the better. He can play easier fixtures and settle the team down cause after the break you got both Arsenal and City away. Would be much better if he already had a month to implement his scheme cause of the schedule in December.

Looks like we might have to sit tight a little while for this one.
When ten hag was sacked I thought it might take a couple of months to know who the new guy would be. If they can get this sorted for him to start after the international break then I’m happy

Off topic: are they literally doing an international break every month this season? What’s going on!!

If United is winning CL/league titles then it's hardly "moving on up", no?

Barca can barely pay their electric bill, and we can go gunshot for gunshot with Real in almost every metric

I'd expect them to come to some kind of arrangement. Sporting likely have someone lined up any and it's in everyone's interest to get it sorted as soon as possible.

Aye people need to remember we’ve moved very quickly on this, we got the news that Amorim was taking over the same day ETH was sacked! It’s only been TWO days since then and I’m already seeing it being described as a “saga”.

Ha aye seems to be an international break every few weeks these days, I knew there was only ones at the start of the season but not this many.
