Ruben Amorim | United meet Sporting release clause

so reading up on his tactics and ideas, are we looking at something like this?

-----------------------Onana

-----------Yoro----De Ligt-----Martinez

Mazraoui---------------------------------------Dalot

----------------Ugarte---------Mainoo

------Fernandes--------------------Garnacho

----------------------Hojlund

Thoughts?

That team might score 1 goal a game.

Kind of makes it weirder that we didn't sack Ten Hag in the summer if we had already identified Amorin as his successor and he was available. He nearly joined West Ham!

I honesty don't know much about tactics but I'm wondering if we have players with high enough football IQ (and work-rate?) to understand how to play the system.

Even some of our best players are as thick as mince. Good luck to him (if he comes).

Taken Gyokeres from the Championship and gotten 56 goals in 63 appearances out of him. Leads me to believe he may be able to get a tune out of at least one of our forwards.

That was quick. I thought the whole season was about to be written off. Pleasant surprise.

Wow that would be great to get him especially after all the talk of the Sporting director Viana joining cheaty and Amorim following him.

Dumb reason/assumption but maybe it was because they would have got off on the wrong foot if they sacked Ten Hag. He won an FA Cup and if the next manager struggles the pressure on them would be worse

This way they can say they tried and waited but he wasn't cutting it

Super weird. I can only assume they wanted to potentially save money on a dual buyout in hopes ETH turns it around? Bad decision if that was the case
Also, where would he fit into a 343?
He wouldn't

So with Amorim, we have a core of Dalot, Bruno (Portuguese) and Ugarte (his former player). Let’s see where it brings us

Pretty much. Also means a massive clear out of ETH players next summer in exchange for ones Amorim needs to fully implement his own style of play.

Which ones do you think would be unsuitable for an amorim style?

He’s 1/6 on to be our new manager, so this must be developing, he’s gone from 12/1 to 1/6 in less than half a day.

He likes 3421 or 343, some of the recent transfer leaks like Alvaro Fernandes returning for £16.5m, he’s obviously been scouted by Amorim in Portugal, the Manuel Ugarte Deal starting to make sense.

RVN is probably only going to be in charge for 3/4 games. Amorim will want to come in early November, evaluate the squad and then give his list of urgent transfers in January. It’s still hypothetical but his system is built upon a high energy 2 man midfield and a footballing back 3 that play a high line.

Looking at our personal if everyone is fit and playing well;
His team would be ;
Onana/A Bayinder

L Yoro/ V Lindelof
M De Ligt/ H Maguire
L Martinez / J Evan’s

N Mazraoui/ D Dalot
M Ugarte/ Casemiro
K Mainoo/ C Eriksen
L Shaw / H Amass/T Malacia

Bruno / Amad
Mount / J Zirkzee

R Hojlund/ M Rashford/ A Garnaucho

A lot of our players need to be replaced due to age and injury concerns plus Amorin would definitely want Gyrokes as his number 9 and he want a young left footed wing back!

Rashford can play as a 10 or 9, not so sure about Garnaucho, both could be sold to bring in Gyrokes and an young elite number 10, this could be interesting and it’s not a done deal yet either however, INEOS clearly want a head coach under 40 that can grow with them over a 5 to 6 year period.

Hard to tell in that league. Although he’s competing with Porto and Benfica. But all the rest of the league are worse than what’s in the Pl. I reckon he’ll get the best out of Bruno.
If he plays 343 we’re will Bruno play there is no no 10 role
