Surely the whole point of a buyout is to override the need for a notice period
So City would have needed to pay 20
It honestly depends on the contract. The buyout clause is just the amount of compensation to be paid, and doesn't relate to a notice period.Surely the whole point of a buyout is to override the need for a notice period
It feels daft that a multimillionaire pro manager has a shorter notice period than me!Surely the whole point of a buyout is to override the need for a notice period
Jim made them sell all the fax machines as a cost cutting exercise. What are odds of us fecking this up at the last minute? Is there paper in the fax machine?
If there’s one thing the new lot have shown, they can do deals quickly and decisively. What are odds of us fecking this up at the last minute? Is there paper in the fax machine?
That's not a compromise. That's simply buying out the rest of his contract/triggering the release clause for "top clubs". Sporting don't have a say in that. A compromise would be them allowing Amorim to start immediately and wave the notice period. The compromise is the 10 million quid we're spending to buy him out of his contract
He was 90% wrong before that too. Only thing he’s been on the ball with has been Qatar wanting to buy United and their subsequent bids and then eventual withdrawalMike Keegan has been about 90% wrong since INEOS entered the takeover negotiations. He is probably wrong here too.
He's probably not wrong. It's just a contractual technicality that no club ends up enforcing as it gets negotiated in the fee usually. He's just reporting it cause it's technically true but also makes it look like panic... So yeah.Mike Keegan has been about 90% wrong since INEOS entered the takeover negotiations. He is probably wrong here too.
Delighted with this if true. Have been a big fan of watching his sporting team in recent years, would love to see that be implemented here. There’s a few players I wouldn’t mind him bringing either, especially if he is going to stick to his 3-4-3 system.
Surely they can if that's a condition in the contract he has.I don’t see how that works if the release clause is paid. I can understand it if he just handed in his notice with no fee being paid, but surely they can’t have their money and still decide when he leaves!
Never in history has a man committed his career and seemingly his life to pure sycophancy for another man. Its genuinely a bit creepy
I'm guessing Amorim's agent negotiated it? He extended his contract a couple of years ago when his stock was rapidly rising, so wouldn't be surprised if the stipulation was added then. Not sure how they came up with that release clause because it's a bit unfair. They paid 10m to get the guy in the first place.
only teletext countsOfficially approved?
Got a livescore notification that this is done.
Ruben Amorim would have insisted on that in return for a new contract. Very logical for any talented manager from a smaller club. Obviously they'll want the option of moving to a top club open to themNot sure how they came up with that release clause because it's a bit unfair. They paid 10m to get the guy in the first place.
Welcome to the world of Jamie Jackson. Logic and reason don't applyWhy is writing in French when he's talking about Portugal?
I am worried about certain elements in the squad undermining him. I still think there needs to be a mini clear out to give him control and authority.
Still a few players that have been here way too long and feel like they own the place.
Will be part of the contract or just what they will agree to.I don’t see how that works if the release clause is paid. I can understand it if he just handed in his notice with no fee being paid, but surely they can’t have their money and still decide when he leaves!
Absolutely not. We already have two crocked LBs, sign Chilwell and we'll still be playing Dalot out of position. We need to support him if he becomes our new coach however we should be realistic about how difficult the job in front of him is?
Not only is he inheriting, a pretty overrated and aging squad but he’s going to rip up the formation and radically change the way we play with a possession based 3421 formation with probably only 70% of the squad suited to this formation change, plus he can’t add any of his players that he wants to bring him.
With three Central defenders, his introduction may prolong Lindelof and Maguire United’s career, at least until the summer of 2025.
Looking how our squad could be used by Amorim?
Onana/Bayinder
L Yoro/ V Lindelof
M De Ligt/ H Maguire
L Martinez/ J Evan’s/ L Shaw
Dalot/Mazraoui
Ugarte/Casemiro
Eriksen/K Mainoo/Bruno
A Garnaucho/ H Amass/L Shaw
Bruno/Mount/Amad
Rashford/Zirkzee
R Hojlund/M Rashford
As you can see with his 3421 we need a definitive Left footed Left wing Back yep Alphonoso Davies rumours are making more sense but even Ben Chilwell is a h good loan option for this system but he need Gyrokeres to start at 9 to really make this work and he needs an elite 22-25 CM in the summer?
The person that hired the DOF.I wonder who hires their new manager as the Director of Football is leaving at the end of the season
So City would have needed to pay 20
No City was part of the list paying €10m.So City would have needed to pay 20
