Whoppie..... Honestly difficult to get excited for a new manager after ETH. EtH was the manager most wanted and most likely to be the best manager post Fergie for his success at Ajax and his style of play. We've become a soul sucking club for every player of manager that joins.

Yep that’s what I referred to in my initial message. On paper and statistics wise, ETH looked a brilliant appointment & I was super excited when he was appointed.
But it doesn't mean it can't work. The key thing for me is he has the personality for the job to match his achievements.

Just been reading he’s a crowd please. He loves dominating football scoring lots of goals.

The official HERE WE GO!

Hard and probably inaccurate to boil it down to one thing albeit that may have had a sway, but I think his treatment of Ronaldo, Sancho, DDG didn't sit well with some players in the squad. I suspect he found it difficult to gain their full respect and wasnt able to communicate effectively want he wanted from them.
Well put!! Tbh, I've felt the same, especially Ronaldo who has given so much to this club. You don't treat legends that way.

A bit off topic, but assuming the City interest was very much real, who do they now look to bring in once Pep leaves? Alonso? (assuming he isn't Madrid bound). Hoeness?
who’s that wide-boy national league manager i occasionally see reels of? he would know the league well and what it will take for city to win there.

Just from a bit of reading this morning he does seem to play that way in the bigger games, but that is a small sample size. Just like ten hag at Ajax, most of the games are a cake walk where they dominate the ball Vs small teams in a poor league.
That is the main worry when picking a manager from a dominant team in a smaller league. At least he outsmarted Porto and Benfica.

That won’t mean a great deal. They apparently have a manager lined up so will release him as long as that’s agreed.

This is because the managers that we do get, they dont assert their style of play. This job needs alot of personality.

LVG, Jose were both past it as managers, on a downhill spiral, Ole was appointed after a good interim period but what the Ole and Ten Hag had in common was they lacked personality to lead the club.

Ten Hag has been on the backfoot ever since his first game, he threw his principles out the window and went survival mode, counter attacking football and never recovered.

Even this season, after giving indications that Maguire, Casemiro, Eriksen were surplus to requirements, he turns to them to save his job. I mean its clearly not a good look for a manager who cannot stick to his principles.

I'm sure it will get sorted. I'm guessing this is what the hold has been about since we had no issues with triggering his release clause.

It’s also not going to sit well with the Sporting fans. He agrees to leave and then coaches an entire month?

Keegan is being misleading. The notice period is in case of no agreement meaning that Amorim unilaterally resigns which isn't the current situation.

Ffs. That's why they didn't wait until the international break then. Even more reason why this should have been completed before the last international break. Hopefully we'll find a compromise with Sporting and he can start asap

Journos are vying to try to differentiate their news by adding some BS negativity. Ignore the fluff.

It’s just one journo saying this. Wait till a more reputable one says anything.

Not sure why people are getting bent out of shape over some of these negotiations and buy out clause provisions. It happens for high level positions making way less than millions, so it makes sense it happens in this case. They re still moving very quick it seems.

The compromise is the 10 million quid we're spending to buy him out of his contract

I'm just waiting for Ballague's tweet saying Pep didn't approve of Amorim replacing him.
I can hear his voice in my head on the EuroLeagues podcast later this week, when the question is put to him by Steve Crossman "let's get things straight, 100%, there was never, ever, any talk about Amorim being fit to succeed Pep the best human to ever walk this planet. When he decides to leave, they will retire that position as no one can envisage going into the job after him. So Amorim? No, never was an option"
