I'm surprised at how promptly the management has reacted in the last couple of days. This has obviously been planned for some time, but it's still nice to see us moving along quickly.
Hope not, he might get injured with our luckIs he coaching Sporting tonight?
Flight tracker?
Stylistically he'd have been a bit of a departure from Pep. I think Slot is the one City have missed out on there.City will be gutted when/if Pep walks away in the summer now.
Do feel a big bad they clearly tapped him up behind Ten Hags back, but it was the right move
Yes his final game.Is he coaching Sporting tonight?
Flight tracker?
Is that even a thing that's frowned upon anymore? I haven't heard that phrase being used in the media since Ashley Cole's move to Chelsea.Do feel a big bad they clearly tapped him up behind Ten Hags back, but it was the right move
That’s called very good planning my friend. It shows we ain’t scrambling around looking for a manager. We have sounded one outDo feel a big bad they clearly tapped him up behind Ten Hags back, but it was the right move
Hard and probably inaccurate to boil it down to one thing albeit that may have had a sway, but I think his treatment of Ronaldo, Sancho, DDG didn't sit well with some players in the squad. I suspect he found it difficult to gain their full respect and wasnt able to communicate effectively want he wanted from them.To be honest, I don't quite understand this take. Erik's first season with us is relatively the most successful during his time here. After a patchy start we can start to see the team taking shape slowly. He was fully supported in getting rid of Ronaldo. We took the game to Barcelona and played well at Camp Nou. He was also helped by Rashford having a purple patch who seemingly is able to score from any half chances he gets.
If anything, I feel that everything suddenly just unraveled after the 7-0 loss to Liverpool. It was as if a collective lack of trust in EtH tactics formed after that match and his team was never quite the same again.
Ruud is the sacrificial lamb for the Chelsea game so yeah he's been dealt a great hand there. He is walking into the best set of fixtures he could have asked for. One tough away game and 6 home games. He can build confidence quickly if he manages to win the home games.

Evans has barely aged.
Love that man, should never had sold him.
One issue with ETH aside from not being good enough is that he wasn’t interested in us playing the way his Ajax team did. He seemed to go all in on the transition football dream and it proved a stupid decision.I’ve seen a few videos on “Amorim-ball” and “How United will set-up under Amorim”, “Amorim tactics explained” etc and I just feel a bit numb to it this time. Everything that is being said now could also have been said about Ten Hag at Ajax before he joined: exciting play, clear philosophy, adaptable etc. The people making these videos had the same level of optimism about Erik. If anything the belief that Ten Hag would fix our problems was greater.
The things that are different with Amorim that are more worthy of consideration:
Overall I’m cautiously optimistic. He seems successful, innovative and a good personality and will have the right support behind him off the pitch. I believe this group of players are better than they are showing and if they can just be reminded where the goal is then things could turn around quickly. I’m just not naive to be fooled that Amorim arrives as a far better coach than Ten Hag did.
- Erik was probably too damaged to fully benefit from the new structure and direction at the club. If Ten Hag was coming to us from Ajax now we would all be very excited about the potential. Unfortunately for him he came at a bad time and fell into the same old pitfalls of the old regime. Poor recruitment strategy, knee-jerk signings, off-field problems inherited like Ronaldo, Sancho, leading to a patchwork squad, bad results, unclear tactical direction, odd team selections, desperation. His star had already fallen quite far prior to the summer and the uncertainty of a new hierarchy above him has undermined him to the point of his position being untenable. Amorim shouldn’t have these problems and as the first managerial appointment of Ineos should have a solid backing
- Personality. It was probably the biggest concern about Ten Hag when he arrived. Whether he had the charisma to win the dressing room, the supporters, the media. It was not as bad as feared but he still didn’t have the warmth to keep everyone on the bus with him. Amorim seems different and could win people over. He does seem more fiery too so there could be a concern if things go badly and he finds himself under the intense pressure Ten Hag has faced
- Tactically Amorim is currently known to favour a back 3. This interests me but I’d feel more confident about him if he had proven success with a back 4 (maybe he has?). We have poor options at wing-back and can’t afford another squad overhaul. I’m hoping he is able to adapt his principles to the players we have at our disposal for this season and make the key changes he requires in the next summer window
Yeah the question still stands why they didn’t approach Amorim in the summer? Maybe @Sly can help answer the question - was there talk in Lisbon that we were talking to Amorim in the summer? There's much discussion and disagreement about the timing of Ten Hag's dismissal, but hats off to INEOS for landing what I think is again their first man on the list (lets forget about summer tuchel!)
I think they have been looking since season ended but there were no good options, apparently Tuchel was courted but didn't happen.Full credit to INEOS for acting very swiftly to bring a new permanent head coach in.
4 months to late mind.
Exciting times having a young up and coming coach with an excellent record taking over. No guarantees of success but let's hope this is finally the one to take us back to the top.
8 wins or sack him and give it GiggsyHe is walking into the best set of fixtures he could have asked for. One tough away game and 6 home games. He can build confidence quickly if he manages to win the home games.

true... I dropped by Sky Football channel two seasons ago but I have heard of lots of Italian and Spanish managers but sorry didn't do my thesis on Di Zerbe or Hürzeler
No. The talk was that he would stay till the summer of 2025.Yeah the question still stands why they didn’t approach Amorim in the summer? Maybe @Sly can help answer the question - was there talk in Lisbon that we were talking to Amorim in the summer?

Has someone posted a decent video of Amorim-football broken down?
I need to get my heart broken again.
When we walk
On the pitch
And we're not
fecking shit
That's Amorim...
I was one of those worried about INEOS just continuing with status quo. I am glad I was wrong and they acted. But that's what I want. My complaints to be proven wrong. In any case us fans moaning should not mean much to them. Particularly if they have a plan in place or working on it.
With all the nonsense he came out with and the damage he's done he deserved it and more.Do feel a big bad they clearly tapped him up behind Ten Hags back, but it was the right move
You see the contradiction right?
