Ruben Amorim | United meet Sporting release clause

That's a huge development in United's favour. With Viana eventually ending up at City, Amorim could very easily have waited to join them, but him wanting to join United is huge for them.

This feels like too good a result. Not without risk, but a bold statement from INEOS. Certainly when you consider Potter or Southgate as alternatives.

We don't get that kind of fortune.

Like the style but can be wary about him never having managed outside of Portugal. Hope his English skills check out

I wonder if he'll be allowed to bring in his own coaches, or will RvN etc be kept in place.

Does anyone know if he's tactically flexible? We need someone who can change things tactically during games to win them and not be set in their ways.

But according to Chris Sutton we've fallen so far nobody would want to manage us and Amorim would rather stay at Sporting!

A few hours ago he was reporting that United will be targeting out-of-work managers because of cost cutting. He is a professional guesser.
The concerns may have been there for a while and not necessarily something recent. Luckhurst did clarify that the compensation package itself is acceptable despite those earlier concerns.

Luckhurst is a chancer. Ornstein is the only one you can truly believe.

Oh this looks serious. Srs.

I was looking at the potential managers:

Nagelsmann (ideal but no way getting him off the german team before the wc)
Frank (meh, but ok)
Potter (bet we're looking at another sacking)
Hoeness (maybe)
Xavi (kind of weird considering our playing history and team)
Inzaghi (from Italian football but defo could work)
Amorium (looks promising)

Wow, in time for game after Chelsea, (Brexit and all that. Won’t be this week)

He will definitely want to bring all the staff minus the gk coach who's part of Sporting setup. Amorim and his staff are like a brotherhood, he will probably want all to come.

Can anyone give a comprehensive outline of his style of play. I've seen he is 343, initially I don't like 3 at the back but I'm open to anything and I'd want to know what his overall style is.

Question: if Amorim comes and becomes good will you guys forgive me for my Rojo report?

I'm not sure about that. He looks like bambi on ice out there most of the time, except with two bowling balls for feet. That's on top of being very lethargic in his gameplay.
I disagree. Watch his highlights from his time at Bologna. There's clearly a good player in there. He probably has more refined technique that Hojlund in my view. He probably appears bad because of a lot of flicks being unsuccessful. If he gets on the same wavelength with his teammates those flicks wouldn't look so bad. Like in his full debut with Netherlands. He had a good understanding with Reijnders and created plenty of chances for him.

Been stung too many times in the last 10 years getting excited about a manager coming in.

United will probably make him as bald as Erik by the end of his contract if he comes.

Be interesting to see what happens with RvN.

What is he like tactically, does he always play the same way?

I'd have my doubts he'd still want to go to City with this case hanging over them

he's very ambitious so maybe the prospect of bringing United back appeals
